I'm very glad i decided to go with Capital Vacuums to have my old Kenmore vacuum repaired. After sears closed in Colonie, I wasn't sure where to bring my Kenmore to be serviced. After doing some research online and reading reviews, I figured i'd give Capital Vacuums a shot. I dropped my vacuum off because the beater bar was no longer spinning (to be honest, the machine was 20 years old and didn't really owe me anything anyway). The technician called me back the next day and explained to me that the vacuum was on its way out, but there was good news! He told me he could save me a few bucks by replacing the needed parts with other used parts (working parts of course). I thought that was a good idea because it didn't make much sense to me to invest to much money into a 20 year old vacuum cleaner. In 2 days, my machine was working again and I was cleaning my home! When I went to pick the vacuum up, I got into a conversation with the salesman about the pets in my home and how they were starting to kill my carpets. He showed me a fantastic cleaning kit that they sell that helps alleviate stains and helps bring your carpets back to life. BOOM! when I got home i tried the cleaning solution and I couldn't be happier with their recommendation. The spot remover restored my carpet to it's original color and helped kill the awful pet odor (I have 3 dogs lol). I had the most incredible experience taking a new vacuum cleaner that was used for cleaning a new pub to Capital Vacuums for repairs! This vacuum was not purchased there, but I was looking for a place that repaired them and found Capital Vacuums through an online search. I called and set up a time to bring it in and . The next day as soon as I opened their doors, carrying in my broken vacuum, John greeted me in such a nice friendly manner! I had such a wonderful friendly conversation with John that we became immediate friends talking about things we were both familiar with growing up in sales, and he told me to return in the morning and my vacuum would be all fixed! I left and came back the next day a bit early so I sat in my car and waited. John arrived and as soon as he saw me sitting in my car he gave me the nicest welcome smile and opened his car door and so nicely welcomed me into his place of business ! He brought out my vacuum and said that it was only a minor repair to a belt. I was so pleasantly surprised at the cost he charged to repair it! I had no idea what was wrong with it, but his honesty was so refreshing, I felt here was a man and store that put customer service first. After owning numerous vacuums that did not stand up to the test of time, I decided that it was my time to be responsible, research and purchase a quality machine. 2 years ago My sister and I made our way into Capital Vacuums. At first I was hesitant to invest and suspicious of the sales talk (a natural pessimist when it comes to sales) and ran back to Bed Bath and Beyond to get a less expensive machine.... but thankfully I had the common sense to return to Capital Vacuums the same day and purchase an adorable Sebo canister vacuum. So yes, I said adorable and it is cute but most importantly, this little Sebo is one powerful machine and does the job on carpets so well that it has earned a place of respect in my life. Since my initial purchase, I have been back to Capital Vacuums twice. Once to deal with a clog and was in and out of the store in 10 minutes with a working machine at no charge:) Recently my hose was crushed and Capital Vacuum went to bat for me and had the equipment covered under warrenty, no questions asked!! What a fantastic repair shop. I gave Capital Vacuums a call to see if they service Dyson vacuums. My older dyson was not picking up well and was in desperate need of a good service. They were very polite on the phone and explained to me how they do free estimates and wouldn't charge me to look at it and let me know what it would be to make it run good again. When I dropped my vacuum off, the gentleman out front told me how they stay pretty busy and it may take a few days to get to my machine. Which is understandable, the shop was filled with other repairs! But I was pleasantly surprised when I received my phone call later that day! Luckily my machine did not need much, after giving them the "OK" to clean and service my machine and replace the filters (they were filthy), my older Dyson was running like new again for what I thought was a very fair price. When I went to pick up my vacuum the gentleman out front even took the time to carry my machine out for me. I was hoping to get a few more years out of my vacuum and i'm glad to say that Capital Vacuums helped me do just that. I have a bad habit of waiting until my Kirby bags are full before changing. And I probably don't clean the brush roller as often as I should. Two Saturdays ago I not only burned up and broke my belt but at the same time the vacuum bag burst and blew dust everywhere. It was so messy and stunk up the house. I didn't have 4 hrs to clean up the Kirby, and buy a belt, etc. I threw it in the car and drove around the corner. Reggie took it in, I went and enjoyed the day. Got out of work on Monday, it was ready. Picked it up, good as new. Clean, inside and out. New belt, new bag, new brush roller. Works great. The thing I did not expect, or even think was possible was that nasty odor of burnt rubber and filthy dust was gone. He told me he deodorized it for me. Then he tossed me a couple of free belts to keep me going for the rest of the year. I enjoyed vacuuming the whole house that day, it worked as good as new. And the thing smelled like a fresh breeze. Today I think I'll go pick up a can of Kickass from Reggie and score a free pair of sunglasses. My husband and I had been searching for a new vacuum for a long time. We finally stumbled into Capital Vacuums and went in to look at what they had. Reggie was working that day and little did we know, it was closing time. He was so accommodating to our questions and took extra time to talk to us about options and tell us his opinions. You would have never known that it was the end of his day and we were keeping me longer. We told him upfront that we were not going to be purchasing anything that day but were just looking. After talking to him, leaving, researching some more and deciding on what would be best for us - we went back to Capital Vacuums (luckily Reggie was there again) and purchased a Sebo vacuum. I am beyond happy with the vacuum and the customer service we received from this store. Reggie gave us all we would need plus more and really helped make this decision easier for us. We were one of those people that has purchased vacuums every 2 years or so at about $300 (average) a time. I've been going to this location for many years...even before it was called "Capital Vacuums". I purchased a Kirby G4 from a door to door salesman back in 1995-1996...I had not needed service on my G4 but only a couple of times in the last 10 years. However, I always purchased my vacuum bags from this location and so I had visited there several times. I had always had a positive experience...always greeted promptly and professionally. Never pressured to purchase anything I did not need, but was informed of my options. Recently, I had taken my G4 in for service as the carbon brushes had finally went, but considering they lasted for 22 years, I can not complain!! Upon picking up my machine, Josh had discussed trading in my beloved G4 for a newer model. I was hesitant at first, but Josh made me a deal that I could not pass up. The price, options and newer Kirby was top notch and it made good sense. I purchased a Simplicity Vacuum in 2010 and I have never had a problem. The beginning of this month I stopped in Capital Vacuum on Central Ave. in Albany and met with Josh. My intent was to get general maintenance for my Simplicity however, I asked Josh if he had a newer model that would impress me. Josh demonstrated the SEBO Vacuum. I was totally shocked with the amount of suction the machine displayed. The cord was long enough to vacuum at least two large rooms- no hastles, no unplugging,no tangling on return. The maneuverabilty on the rolling casters and flexibility of the vacuum wand makes vacuuming easy. The construction quality of the SEBO was evident - sturdy, light weight, very large collection bag. The additional vacuum tools are stored inside the back of the machine for easy access. Josh was extremely helpful, knowledgeable and courteous throughout our demonstration. I have been doing business at John's Glens Falls store (Charlie's Vacuums) for many years; he has sold and serviced our vacuums for both my home and my husband's small business. Always with the highest quality service and fairest of prices. And the absolute best vacuum cleaners. Today John helped me select a brand new vacuum, a Sebo, as it was time to retire our much used and loved Miele, which I purchased quite a few years ago from the Glens Falls store. John was so helpful and friendly and offered to unpack and assemble the new vacuum cleaner for me. I was glad not to have to take it home in the box and deal with unpacking it, and with the disposal of the box and packaging. Talking with John and buying the vacuum today was such a pleasure. I looked at the Capital Vacuums website and their reviews. I could only find positive, glowing remarks. I had to find out for myself, so I visited the store. Reggie's customer service was phenomenal. Greeted warmly at the door and my broken vacuum was rushed back to Dave the repair technician for an instant evaluation. Dave assured me my 20 yr. old Kirby vacuum would be fixed like new. It was, on time as promised. While there, I asked to test drive a new vacuum, as there was no pressure. Reggie answered questions and provided information. I did purchase a new vacuum that works as well as advertised. Reggie gave me free bags and a good discount. I will always appreciate my Kirby, but am thankful for a lightweight comparable vacuum with modern features that I can carry up the stairs easily. I was recently visiting my mother in Schenectady in May and had Capital Vacuums out to her house for a cleaning that was well overdue. They had their work cut out for them. Besides carpet cleaning of a carpet bought when I was in high school in 1985, I had my mother's original 1967 1x1 Tile and Grout in the bathroom cleaned. I remember as a teenager scrubbing this grout with a toothbrush and a cleanser that never worked! I was literally in a "Wow" phase while watching the tech David was performing his magic. I just can't believe the difference and how well it looked. I have a before and after pic and I still can't believe the difference. It looks great! Can't say enough about Capital Vacuum. Felt good about the place when I walked in- clean and neat (floors looked great which they should for a vacuum place!), was treated very politely and attentively by Brian, at the front counter. Upon noticing their "Kickass" line of products, I had a great discussion with John- friendly, very 'people' and service oriented energy. Obviously has a good sense of humor too. I left my Kenmore Progressive with Brian for repair and he literally repaired it the same day. He called to give me both an estimate and the option to purchase a new or used part (wand). Awesome. Brian also cleaned the machine and checked the motor. All is well. I recently went to capital vacuum in search of the best vacuum to manage my dogs ceaseless shedding. At this point I had given up on my Dyson DC41 Animal it never really picked up the dirt and hair as well as I'd hoped. After working with them and getting a test drive and demonstrations of a few different vacuums, I'd made up my mind on the Sebo Felix. This vacuum has done an outstanding job compared to my Dyson and I would recommend this to anyone in the market for one. Now on to the store, staff, and service. These guys were great, service was everything I could want and more. They offer a warranty on the vacuum, threw in a few bags, and did warranty repairs on my old vacuum! What more could I ask for? Talk about a dealer who gives great service and sells a great product! I have owned a Meile Vacuum for 21 years. Last Friday it started to make a loud noise while I was vacuuming. I thought the vacuum had finally done it's last job and would need to be replaced. So, I immediately started my search on the internet for a Meile dealer in my area. After 21 years with a Meile, I would not even think of another brand. I found Capital Vacuums in Glens Falls and called them. They suggested I bring it in for them to asses it. They not only repaired my old Meile, but they gave me a good deal on a new one. I had never been in this store, nor do I know these guys. I chose the Electrolux canister style (I decided on a solidly refurbished workhorse of a machine given kids/pets, etc., which was very reasonably priced). Then when it was ready for a tune up a few years later, they did not laugh at me when they saw I had not been faithful about replacing the filter. My husband had inadvertently pulled the cord out so it would not retract properly, and they suggested a reasonable replacement. I would definitely go back to buy another vacuum in a few years, and buy my bags there regularly as they are better priced than what you find elsewhere. read more

I had given up all hope of ever receiving excellent service or competent workmanship until I visited Capital Vacuums in Colonie,NY. Multiple previous repairs performed by another dealer were unsuccessful leaving the machine with sub par performance. Undependable starting and popped circuit breakers were the norm for this lemon.....until I visited Capital Vacuums. Fearful of a sales pitch for a new machine, instead I received excellent service in a timely fashion at a more than reasonable price. They even thru in some free bags.
