We stopped in for a tire repair. We were told it was not repairable and we would need to buy a…read morecouple new tires. That's fine, sometimes tires can't be repaired. As they were putting on the new tires they let us know the back brakes were completely worn. The report said 0mm of brake pad left. They would even need to replace the callipers.... $2000 please. This did seem a little suspicious, so I chose not to do the repair and had another mechanic look at it. There were actually 3mm of brake pad left, and although low, were not in need of immediate replacement. I did replace them anyway, for $1500 less than Fountain Tire had quoted. The other mechanic even showed me how, in the picture in the report Fountain Tire provided, you could see the remaining 3mm of brake pad. As I now can not trust their assessment, I wanted others to know you do need to check their work. I'm now even questioning whether the tire could have been repaired....
