I bought a Rolex Pepsi Meteorite from Jonathan. The watch is in great condition and complete with box and papers. They listed it as mint and that was a small stretch. I am happy and it is a nice example. I paid up a little for it as I missed on from another dealer have done a lot with. What I learned buying this is that many dealers do not own the watches they show - not using actual images. Capetown has the inventory they show on the site and uses real images. If I had any complaint it is the follow up and replies were quite slow. I was ready to go. After the buy I asked about 2 other watches and got an email with an image a few days later. I asked for more images (like a complete set of them) and details and amazingly never got a reply on a 50k piece. They know I am a real buyer having just bought a watch in that price range from them. The entire communication was like that and perhaps it was due to using text and email vs a call.. I am not sure. I would consider using them again. They are legit. read more

TERRIBLE!!! Don't buy from here. They have terrible customer service EXCEPT for ms. Rosa

Purchased a Jaeger-LeCoultre Polaris Automatic through Errol. Errol was extremely responsive and knowledgeable. The watch condition matched exactly what was represented. Took the watch to the JLC store in Beverly Hills and they confirmed authenticity and said the watch was in excellent condition. Looking forward to buying many more watches through Errol and Capetown diamonds. read more

Ok, so I was looking for a Rolex sold 18k Gold 40mm Day Date President 228238 watch. This watch is hard to find; however, I found several dealers on eBay including Capetown Diamond Corp which appeared to have the best price. As this was going to be a $40,000+ purchase I did a good deal of homework upfront and all reviews came back at 5-star. Well I decided to pull the trigger, in faith, and wired Errol Guggenheim over $40,000 and now came the big test... were they going to deliver and was the Rolex going to be authentic? They received the wire and the SAME DAY they UPS'ed the watch to me, only to arrive the very next day... GREAT SERVICE!! Next... was the watch Authentic/REAL?? Well after some detailed analysis including the serial number, everything looked good. Now was the real test... the WEIGHT!! If it was a REAL Rolex, the hardest thing to 'fake' would be the the WEIGHT (of gold). Research indicated the weight with all links of a President 228238 should come in at approximate 206-209 grams maximum. Well... see the image attached! 209 Grams!!! Thank you Capetown Diamond Corp, I will be buying from you AGAIN! read more

CAVEAT: read about watch condition at the end of the review First pre-owned Rolex purchase, so I was hesitant about several things: authenticity, condition of watch, payment of such a large sum, reputation of dealer, not seeing the watch or business in person before ordering, etc. I decided to go with Capetown mainly because they did not charge sales tax for out of state shipment, which made their price the most competitive among all the dealers I could find. Luckily things worked out very well in my dealing with Capetown. Errol and Jonathan were both polite and straightforward over the phone. They explained the item and process clearly without trying to oversell anything. We agreed on a price and payment terms quickly. After receiving my wire, they shipped the watch overnight that day to arrive the next day. The watch was described/listed as "mint/flawless", but it was actually "very good" condition on arrival: - watch face is flawless - ceramic bezel is flawless - 3-4 scratches on the platinum triangle on the top of the bezel, which is only visible under close inspection and under the right light angle - two small nicks on the back of the watch case edge - some scratches near where the bracelet attaches to the watch case with spring bars (these could probably be polished out easily) - some of the phillips screw heads that attach the bracelet links have jagged edges to them, suggesting an incorrectly sized tool was used to force them to unscrew, but these are cheap to replace - bracelet and watch case were polished perfectly before arrival - movement functions fully, loses about 2 seconds per day So even though the condition wasn't exactly as described, this is a watch that was priced very competitively with other "very good" models on the market, and it's a watch I plan to wear, not collect, so I really don't mind the minor imperfections, and was sort of expecting some imperfections with the price anyway. If you are looking for an actual mint/flawless condition watch, I'd recommend inquiring further before making your purchase. But otherwise, I'd highly recommend Capetown for a watch you plan to wear. read more

This is my second gold Rolex watch I have purchased from Johnathan and Errol. My new rose gold Yachtmaster 40mm arrived today in better condition and with more documentation than I anticipated. It even was set to the correct PST time for me "great attention to detail guys". I wouldn't recommend buying from anyone other than Capetown Diamond Corp. At the very least you should price them out if you are shopping for a watch. Guys I will buy my Daytona from you next. Thanks again. Adam from Danville California read more

Mr. Marcus, I just wanted to thank you personally for the gorgeous Gold Rolex President watch I purchased from you last week. The transaction could not have gone any better, and I'm incredibly impressed with the watch. Your sales associate, Errol Guggenheim, was direct to the point, extremely friendly, and described the watch perfectly. The watch was delivered overnight and on time as promised, and I was so impressed with your company and Errol that I've decided to purchase another new Rolex Air King from you tomorrow. I want to say to potential customers there should be no hesitation whatsoever in doing business with such a quality firm and to look no further; you have found a jeweler for life. I look forward to having a lifelong relationship with your company. read more

What more can I say. 5 star across the board. Ordered my watch on December 6. Wired money by 4 pm. Watch was at my door, 2200 miles away by noon the following day. I am 100% satisfied with everything. Jonathon made it a very simple process. Watch was exactly as described and no doubt a fantastic deal. I highly recommend Captown Diamond. I purchased a Rolex Presidential and couldn't be happier. It was shipped to me. Super fast looked better than I thought. they went out of their way to make sure I was comfortable and pleased with my purchase. They have a buyer for life. Ordered a Rolex, 116244 $9740, wired the money. The ad clearly stated, and photos clearly showed it came with box and original warranty card - both were a big deal to me. Watch came quickly with box. I got all kinds of run around on the warranty card, although they never denied that it was part of the deal. Got a "xerox copy" that doesn't show any signs of being real, nor does it even include the serial number. My problem is if they will lie about the little things like the warranty card, is the watch even real? Below I posted what I expected and what I actually got for a warranty card. You tell me, is the card is fake? I sure think it is. So now I wonder about the watch. I didn't haggle on the price, I just wanted what I ordered. Very disappointed. UPDATE 7/10/21 : The review has moved up to 3 stars and may get even better. I've been told I will receive a xerox copy of the other side of the warranty card after the weekend. I was also told they would take care of the bill for a inspection of the watch by the locate Rolex Boutique as well as a service cleaning when needed in 3-4 years. So if these things happen I will update this review again and expect to bring it up to 5 stars. UPDATE 7/11/21: The review is back to original 1 star. Haven't heard back from the owner with his promise of the xerox copy of the other side of the warranty card I suspect is fake. Also no follow up on the promise to pay for a inspection at the Nashville Rolex Boutique or any other service. I think it's best to avoid this place for any serious purchases. read more

Some of the worst customer service I've ever received, especially from a "high-end" jewelry/watch store. This store is not worth your time or money, especially if you are buying online. I will try to keep this review respectful. I put in an online special order on a Rolex Oyster Perpetual from them on 11/30/2020 - after wiring them $5K, they sat on my cash with no update on the special order after over 6-7 weeks. I was forced to call and ask them myself, and they kept saying, "let me call my inventory guy," and "we are waiting on an update from the dealer. Rolex always has delays and there are no guarantees." That's fine - I understand that's how Rolex inventory may go at times, but this isn't my first Rolex. The lack of communication and professionalism, especially with their customers' cash, is beyond me - you need to tell me these things immediately and not force a customer to wait 6 weeks before any communication, which you didn't even initiate. I did. I called multiple days in a row afterwards, and they kept saying they will give me an update "tomorrow." The next day I hear nothing back, and was forced to call them myself - this happened over a span of a week. Then they offered me different watches that the dealer had - if I wanted those watches, I would have ordered them. I would like the watch that I specifically chose. Janice kept saying, "we are at the mercy of other people telling us information." What a lack of accountability - if customers are waiting, you need to take initiative and communicate with customers before they need to reach out. I hope they treat their in-person customers better, because an online order with Capetown is a waste of time and effort. I interacted with Janice and I believe Jonathan throughout this process. Janice's customer service was the worst by far with a lack of accountability. I could have used this cash for another purchase. They said they had a COVID issue the past two weeks - my condolences. However, I don't believe this excuses the poor customer service - this was over a span of 6-7 weeks. I finally requested a refund on 1/19/2021. read more

I was on the hunt for an Omega Seamaster 300 Master for a while. I spotted the perfect one on Capetown's site for a great price! The watch arrived a couple of days later as advertised; however, I really wanted brushed links. I let Errol know and he said no problem! I just purchased my Rolex watch with the help of Errol G.@ Capetown Diamond Corp. Errol was absolutely fantastic ,answered so many questions and concerned that I had especially purchasing such an expensive watch on the internet!!!!, , and he was the only reason that I purchased my watch from CDC , as I have been searching for this watch for a while and have been checking and talking with many shops locally and also on the internet. The watch came on time , packaging was fantastic , the watch as a preowned watch looks like a brand new watch as it was described , the price also was great so couldn't be more happy with the whole process , again a big thanks to Errol , and looking forward to my next purchase from Capetown. read more

I have been buying and trading in Rolex's with Capetown for about 5 years now. I've always found Errol to be helpful and patient as I tend to change my mind (alot). I have found their prices good, their company reliable and trade in values fair when upgrading to a different model after a couple years. You have to be careful on the internet and you can be confident in what you are getting when purchasing from Capetown. My "new" (pre-owned)Rolex just arrived yesterday and its perfect. read more

I worked with Jonathan and had a very smooth transaction in trading my Rolex in for a new model. Highly reccomended.

Communicated to purchase a watch, was given the run around for a day waiting to bank transfer and found out the watch was a mistake or ever existed. Their stock is probably aggregated from partners and nothing is reliable. Good luck. read more

They're racist here. My family came in to get something looked at. They acted like the watch we had was stolen. Even made an inappropriate comment like we can't afford stuff. My son in law paid $900 an hour to drive the Porsche experience but they said Porsche would look at him and wouldn't let him drive. I have purchased 2 pre-owned timepieces from Capetown in the past two years, both times the service, communication, and product were outstanding. Jonathan is a pleasure to work with. Both watches were as-advertised, and would feel completely confident buying from Capetown again (and I probably will!). In the world of pre-owned luxury watches, there are a lot of pitfalls to watch out for. As always, do your research, but I would highly recommend Capetown to any of my friends looking to purchase a piece of jewelry or a luxury watch. read more

The folks at Capetown are awesome at what they do. I bought a Rolex presidential from them and in three words, "it is immaculate". The craftsmanship and attention to details is simply impeccable! I cannot express how pleased I am with the service at Capetown. I ordered a Rolex submariner and it when the box arrived it had been tampered with at some point during USPS custody. The watch was stolen. Capetown did everything they could to help right the situation - above and beyond what I would have expected. The watch, of course, was insured but filing a claim of that magnitude involved multiple steps, delays, inconveniences, and you're dealing with a branch of the US government - so it's no cake walk. Nevertheless, they were responsive and helpful at EVERY stage. I can't thank them enough. When I decided on a replacement watch from their inventory they got it to me the NEXT DAY. The new watch is as flawless as advertised and I couldn't be happier. Many, many thanks! read more

I purchased a previously used watch through Capetown. Almost a year later it stopped working. I contacted Jonathan Marcus who is one of the owners and he was fantastic. where should I begin? visited this shop while I was on a business trip last month and checked out their watches. spent hours talking to this mother-son dual Rose & Jonathan Marcus...what characters they are. They will talk their tongues off just to make you buy their watch. I told them I needed more time as it was a Rolex I was looking at and couldn't make a decision on spot. They were mad as soon as I told them I would need to come back the next day as I needed time to do more research online. They proceeded to insult me by telling me I didn't deserve to be their customer and showed me the door. Rude! Do not go there and good thing I didn't buy the watch. I checked it out online only to find it $3000 cheaper elsewhere! Crooks! read more

Purchased a Rolex from Capetown but after iust a few minutes it stopped working. Sent it back for a replacement but the replacement had calendar date issues.
