The number of times that i have passed by this place and have not gone in should be a crime. Finally ventured in and what a cool place this is! Based off of the facade the size is deceiving. It feels like it goes on forever from one unique vendor to the next. Jewelry, records, furniture, pieces of history - you name it! What a great space and great variety at affordable prices. I left with jewelry and a stained glass butterfly that looks even better in my home. The woman running the place greeted everyone who walked through her door and was such a pleasure to talk to. September 2023 my friend took us here to Cape May Antiques. I really enjoyed the offerings although this time I didn't purchase anything. There is a lot to see and there is ample room to view the selections. The prices of course vary depending on the vendor you buy from. Overall I thought the prices were reasonable. Since it is Cape May I expected everything to be sky high. It was an enjoyable experience going through the store. I would definitely go back. I liked the offerings for gardens and the great outdoors too. They also have a verrrrrrry small parking lot too. That's a big score while parking is at a premium in cape May! read more

Way tooooooo much Nazi "collectibles" on display in prominent spots. I get the argument that they're "historic" but the sheer amount on display is a red flag. I have a big issue with nazi medals being displayed next to American wwII medals and Purple Hearts seems extremely disrespectful to those who served. Made me sad to see SS badges next to American medals. Also find it extremely problematic to have Nazi items for sale as "collectibles" that are re-created items made in the 70's and 80's that have no historic value just Nazi propaganda. read more

Nice selection of things, some reasonable priced and some high, nothing cheap but beware the only restroom is a portable located behind the shop. It was 1000% vile and impossible for a child to use. It is ridiculous that they can't open a restroom to the public. I was going to buy something but had to leave instead to find a bathroom. read more

Lots of "collectibles" but no real antiques. We were there early on a Sunday morning with no one in the building. The awfully rude shop keeper found it too much to handle if we had questions or asked to make a call to a vendor for a final price on an object. Considering that is standard practice for most consignment shops, perhaps the owner needs to find a new shop keeper. The woman he has needs an attitude adjustment. read more

It's plain to see why the Cape May Antiques Center has such low ratings, and why New Jersey gets such a bad rap from the uninitiated in other parts of the country. My grandmother passed away, and I have two Fenton milk-glass lamps I need to transport from Cape May to Las Vegas. So I thought who better to ask about trusted antiques shippers than the Cape May Antiques Center. Before I had the complete sentence out of my mouth, the abrupt woman on the other end of the phone tersely quipped, "I'm not the owner, so I won't be able to help you." I tried to clarify that I wasn't trying to sell her anything but just asking for guidance from a respected antiques dealer. Then CLICK, the line went dead. Assuming that she wouldn't dream of hanging up on a caller and risk misrepresenting her employer, I called back. No answer. She must be from North Jersey. read more

Just ok. We've been here many times over the years. Its a co-op, which used to mean an exciting experience, but we're finding that anymore, it just means a bunch of dealers all selling the same "vintage" items, and a lot of junk mixed in. The few things we did find of interest were priced way above what you'd normally find. I took a small item up to the counter that was priced ridiculously high, to POLITELY ask if the store had a discount policy, and could they call the seller to ask what the best price for the item would be? The woman at the counter almost took my head off! She refused to call, and loudly argued with me about the price being fair, in front of a packed shop. I've been buying and selling for many, many years and this was by far one of the rudest encounters I've ever experienced. I felt sorry for the folks who sell there. We were serious about buying the item we were interested in, just wanted a little negotiation. We left the item on the counter and walked out. read more

This was a fun place to spend some time in. I managed to find a Civil-War era print of the execution of John Brown -- so I was happy to take that home for a very reasonable price. While well-picked, this place has a nice variety of items ranging from late 1700s to mid 20th century. There seem to be more nautical-oriented items, as would be expected near the ocean. It's well worth a stop on your way through, or as a distraction on a hot day. Grab some pizza at Tony's, too. read more

Pretty much like every other antique mall I've ever been to. Most of it is knick knacks and glassware. Not many real antiques were to be had here. Prices were nearly double retail on any decent antique. And when I say decent... There was maybe 10 quality, antique items. Shop is reasonably large and decently laid out. No bathroom, only a port-a-John out back. Parking wasn't too bad either. Personally, when I visit an antique store, I'm looking for actual vintage and antique items; not dishes from the 70s, reproduction cast iron items, and overpriced figurines. read more

They don't seem to get new things in very often, but when they do, it's golden. I bought a piece of furniture once and the whole staff helped me get it into my car. Great service! read more

The last true antique center left in Cape May that hasn't been converted to "collectibles" (Reproduction goods made cheaply overseas) and junk. It's not "overspecialized," meaning that you won't just find endless glassware. Each dealer seems to have a specialty or theme-And what you find is all top caliber examples. I was thoroughly impressed on my first visit and that continues to be the case. There's a good chance that you can find anything you're looking for-It's *that* diverse. I tend to walk out with a few small things each time I visit-Even though I'm not spending a small fortune, everyone there has been really great and helpful. read more

There are many great antique shops and antique malls not terribly far from where I live. When I head down to Cape May for my yearly vacation, I'm always pleased with the selection here. I've visited other so-called antique shops in the area that sell either modern reproductions or painted furniture which, in my mind, fail to meet the definition of an antique. It seems that there's something here to fit everyone's tastes and budget, mine included. It was also wonderful seeing some of the antique trains I coveted during my childhood! Most of the trains I saw were restored, which the shops by me don't do, but charge higher prices for well-abused old toys! Although it seems that each space is occupied by a different seller, the shop is never cluttered or unorganized as some of the antique malls around me tend to be. There are people selling everything from jewelry to furniture. Pricing is far cheaper than antiquing in New York, where everything you touch seems to be: "Priceless." Of note: I'm a devout film photographer who's never without his Leica, teach a photography course and live 5 miles away from a great camera shop that still processes film and sells vintage cameras. Last year the owner offered to sell me a camera which I had to think on and by the time I returned he'd already sold it. I found the same model camera here, which had been worked on by a technician whom I'm assuming sells refurbished cameras. I've probably shot over 50 rolls of film through it in the year I've owned it without so much as a jam, light leak or broken part.
