ZERO "0" stars: DANGER: AVOID this mechanic (Jerry). Negligent and dishonest. He did not care to clean off the rust on the rim of my wheel when he changed my tire. Next day I had a complete flat because there was no air seal between the rim and the tire. Pure negligents that can result in a big accident on the highway. Why would you put a new tire on a rusted wheel without cleaning off the rust? He was defensive and rude and asked me to pay more money. I payed more, but he did not clean off the rust, I had to go to a different mechanic. Safety is more important. He kept advising me to leave my old rusted wheel at his shop and order a new one. I realized he wanted to sell it as a used one to someone else. Negligent and dishonest. I also asked him to change my transmission oil. Over the phone he told me $170 total. But when I got the bill, it was much higher the original price. To the $130 labor He added another $90 which he "forgot" to include in the price over the phone. Plus $29 fee for using soap and paper towels at his shop. Now looking at the way he fixed my flat tire, I am afraid about the quality of the transmission oil and filter change. Our daughter drove my older car from North Jersey to Cape May. Halfway there she called to say the steering was stiff and after discussing I was afraid either power steering pump or the rack were shot. Brought the car here on a Monday afternoon (of a holiday week). They thought it might not be looked at until Wednesday but they called Tuesday to say they found a leaky hose. It was done that day. Fair price and they started with the less expensive possibility. While I hope never to have a breakdown on vacation, if it happens again, I would definitely call this shop. read more

I had a slow leak in my tire. Definitely not something to deal with on vacation... I stopped by this station and received a great service. Even though the leak was difficult to find it was fixed in 15 min for a very reasonable price. If you are in Cape May and need your car serviced I would highly recommend this place. read more

Jerry was an enormous help to us, as we traveled to Cape May from PA. Had a leaking tire due to a puncture. He repaired the tire the next day and had us on our way. Definitely will be buying gas here and coming back for any needed emergency repairs. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. read more

My wife and I were on our way home from a great vacation in Cape May while still in town my tire pressure monitor came on showing the right rear tire was low. I was trying to think what to do where to go. Then I remembered the Shell station I usually go to for gas. I said they must preform auto repairs. So I pulled in and asked if they fix flats. The person I spoke with was Jerry, he said yes I can do it right now. Jerry said the tire had a screw in it and would take a short time to fix it. I was delighted to know this could be done so fast. While staying in Cape May on vacation, I noticed one of my headlights on my Toyota Highlander had burned out. I called Cape Harbor Shell and they told me to come in anytime, as they had most headlights in stock. They replaced my headlight in under five minutes and for a reasonable price. Our Toyota Prius got a flat tire in West Cape May today. We have Toyota Roadside Assistance but they wanted to tow us to a dealer 37 miles away! I'm sure we would have waited for hours and it would have ruined our plans for the whole day. We looked on Yelp for car repair shops closer and found Cape Harbor Shell, and thank goodness! We spoke to Jerry on the phone, who was incredibly helpful in sharing our options and their cost upfront. He came with a tow truck but was able to inflate our tire enough so that we could drive on it the 2 miles to his shop, which saved us some money, which we really appreciated! Then we had a lovely chat with Jerry while he replaced our tire and checked the others just to be safe. What could have been a major ordeal was but a minor convenience, and not really even that because Jerry was a pleasure to chat with. We had a busted caliper that was eating away at our brake pad. We notice the day we were headed back to NYC. This shop was great. Fixed us up in 2 hours and had us on our way. They even advocated for us with our warrantee company who was trying to cover the least amount of work. Great work, honest people, fast service!!! Glad to know this place exists! read more

Somehow ran over a screw and a wheel weight while driving down the GS Parkway towing our camper, and we needed to get our tire patched or replaced FAST. Called Cape Harbor Shell and they said they could take a look. We pulled up and Jerry (one of the owners) came out and took care of us immediately -even though he was expertly balancing a bunch of other tasks at the time! He found not one, but two pieces of shrapnel in our tire (thanks, GS Parkway....) and he had our tire patched and replaced in under a half an hour. Thanks to Jerry for saving our day! I just moved to Cape May from California for work. I am 24 years old and know absolutely nothing about cars. After driving my Honda Civic across the country to the area, I needed to get my car serviced. I am a new car owner and really want to take good care of my vehicle. I was really nervous to take my new car to get serviced but a friend recommended that I call Cape Harbor Shell. I was completely satisfied with the service I received. Jerry, the owner, was really approachable and not only asked me about my trip and the history of my vehicle but explained to me how I can take care of my car in the future. The service was fair and I didn't feel like I was a damsel in distress getting ripped off. This place went above and beyond to help us!! Just as we were leaving to go back home (boo!), our check engine light came on and our car started to sputter. After being turned away by another service center, we came here where they checked our car within just a few minutes to diagnose the problem and give us an estimate. They drove us to the Washington Mall and back so that we can have lunch and shop while we waited for them to do the repair. Would highly recommend them!! read more

I was traveling recently with my 3 year old when my car began to overheat. I called roadside assistance and they recommended Cape Harbor Shell. I stopped in and explained my problem to them. They went above and beyond to fix my car and get me back on the road. Even dropped us off at an area were we could shop and get a bite to eat while we were waiting. After realizing the repairs needed were more extensive than originally thought they helped me locate a rental car so I could get home for the weekend. Once they were able to gather all the parts I needed and fix my vehicle, they kept me informed of the work they doing and called as soon as it was ready. They gave me a fair price as well. In Stone Harbor for the weekend when my brakes completely failed. Was referred to Cape Harbor Shell by a local resident. I contacted CHS and they fit me in that day. Art Moore. Diagnosed and fixed the problem in no time (brake line had been severed due to a loose caliper ). When I picked up the vehicle Jerry Mancusco., the Shop owner, took the time to educate me on the problem. I was a bit nervous being out of town and having to have an emergency repair done but Cape Harbor performed the work quickly and the cost was more then reasonable .
