Needed an alternator replaced and a new battery. They did an oil change since it was needed as well. After paying them an ABSURD $1800 because we were out of state and needed to get back home, the alternator failed again a week later because whatever idiot mechanic put it in never tightened the bolt that connects the battery to the alternator, which caused it to arc and melt, resulting in the alternator burning up again. The only in house shop through their warranty company was 40 miles away, and when I called them it turns out they aren't even associated with the warranty company at all. So AAA is currently fixing what Hi-Tech Auto couldn't, and my wife is without a car once again. If you want to pay an arm and a leg for unreliable service, and no help whatsoever when your car breaks again due to their lack of professionalism and checking their work, then this would be the right place for you. Out of state. Dropped off my truck for an oil change and asked them to check one of my sensors that I believed was causing a rough idle. Held my truck for three weeks before finally telling me it would cost me $3800 to get my truck back, with the original problem still unresolved. When I asked why I had received no estimates or asked to sign any releases for the work they did it was simply stated "you never asked". Now they won't release my truck abc are threatening legal action if I don't bring them a certified check immediately. Absolutely would never recommend you go in blind. This place is great. My sister had a problem with her car battery they showed her what was wrong, another shop couldn't find it . Today she need a small tweak with her windshield washer hose and easy peasy it was fixed! I would recommend this place to everyone. read more

My car was dead again. I had the car checked out in PA at my local Pep Boys after the car would not start there, they checked it all out and found nothing wrong. Here at the Villas ..dead again.. I found Hi-Tech via AAA and got there at 4:30 pm. Wade Gilbert was very friendly and assured me they would check it out. The next morning they called and found a cracked battery. They replaced it and I requested if they could do an oil change which I needed and they were happy to do that for me. They also fixed my rear brakes which were due to be replaced. Think you can trust AAA to send help from a reliable garage? Think again! After waiting 3.5 hours for someone to come and change my battery, the portable jump wouldn't turn over my engine. However, the car WAS responding to the jump and had been dead as a freakin' door nail before the jump finally arrived. After trying the jump twice the "mechanic" (that might be a generous term) then declared it wasn't just the battery, but also the fuel pump, and that's definitely why the engine wouldn't turn over. She proceeded to order a tow back to her garage faster than you can say "scheister." Now, at this point I'm almost 4 hours deep into waiting for this to get fixed, while on my vacation, mind you. I'm more than a little annoyed & upset & disappointed & possibly crying a lot. If I had been in a better state of mind, I might have asked her to check a back up jump, or try to jump my car with her van. Alas, I was upset and I guess not thinking logically. To be fair, I'm not the car person here (hence the AAA membership) and shouldn't have to tell a presumably trained professional what to do or how to do it. Here's the best part of the story -- homegirl refused to change the battery, left us on the side of the road, I had to call AAA AGAIN to send a new tow truck & tow it to a family friend-recommended local garage. Guess what kids? Said garage jumped it the next morning and VOILA! She started right up. Tested everything. It was just the battery the entire time. Thanks for nothing Hi Tech Auto! My car broke down in on the GS Parkway on the Sunday of Labor Day weekend. The tow driver from Hi Tech was very professional, got my windows rolled up (which we couldn't due because of the battery) and then made arrangements to tow our car to their shop for the standard price. We needed to be on the road on Monday and they stayed open late and searched all over town to find the parts they needed so they could make that happen. Saved the day. read more

Wish there could be a zero star rating. My son's car broke down while he was on vacation with friends. He called AAA to have the car towed. The AAA driver who was tow driver from Hi Tech took him to Hi Tech's service center. My son told Hi Tech that he would be leaving in 2 days and needed the car to get home. The next morning I called Hi Tech at 8:30 to check on the car and again reminded them my son had to leave the next day to come hone. They told me they would look at the car at 10;00 and call me back shortly thereafter. At 12:30, I still have not heard from anyone at Hi Tech so I called them. They told me they were in a meeting and would call me right back. I heard back from nobody at Hi Tech all afternoon. So at 4:15 we instructed them to put the car out and we would have it towed 2 1.2 hours away to our home since we could not get a clear answer on the status of the car They charged my son $94 for a diagnostic? The receipt stated it needed a new tire which wasn't even the issue and a possible idle control valve with no engine diagnostic report. They did nothing to the car and the invoice had a part charged on it? The person at Hi Tech told my son that there were so many issues with the car however, the invoice only noted 2 items. The idle control valve on his car literally takes 5 to 10 minutes to replace. I have no idea why I was charged $94 for nobody obviously looking at the car. Very disappointed that they took advantage of a young man who was stranded down the shore. read more
