Just completed my LEOSA qualification with Glen on Wednesday. He is extremely knowledgeable on the LEOSA laws, which was very helpful.

As Always CGW is so professional and MATT is the best! I love this place and all the staff. They just do a great job! THANK YOU MATT for being so helpful and giving of your time to us! read more

Last Saturday I walked into this shop to pickup a firearm that I purchased for my boyfriend because it was a firearm that he himself could not find anywhere. This store went above and beyond to find it for me and my boyfriend was thrilled when I got it for him. 5 stars all the way around for Cape Gun Works and a special thank you to Mac for what he does for this company and for me to make my boyfriend a happy guy. read more

Nicole was an excellent instructor, understanding where my skill level was and what my goal for the session. She was able to see and get me to see mistakes I was making in acquiring the target and pulling the trigger. Most importantly, her strong emphasis on safety was admirable and reassuring. read more

For several years I've taken classes here or gone to the range with friends, but last month I finally bit the bullet and became a member. The staff is friendly, and the range staff helpful and knowledgeable, with no sense that you are asking a stupid question. Fellow members are always friendly. As a mom of many (now young adult) kids, I appreciate their focus on safety and real-life self-defense scenarios instead of Rambo stuff, especially now that I'm teaching them to safely handle firearms. read more

Great range. The staff is always extremely friendly and helpful. Glenn and Nichole are both solid instructors. I always look forward to going there. read more

The store is great but the gun range I had a big problem with there was no range officer in the shooting area my brother had a problem with the new gun he bought there and I had to go out and get someone I was so uncomfortable I didn't go back in I didn't shoot at all also we were sold ammo for the shotgun that turned out to be bird shot which would of got us in trouble if there was a range officer in there it completely destroyed our target causing my brother to finish early he shot both are targets this is a massive safety violation and I will take steps to inform people read more

Walked around the whole store and the range area. Used the restroom and walked around again. Not one person asked if I needed help. I saw a handgun and a rifle I was prepared to buy. I'll never come here again. Made me appreciate four seasons in Woburn even more. Booooooooo cape gun works. read more

I'm in my fifth year of doing business with Cape Gun Works, and I couldn't recommend them more highly. The place is extremely well managed and it shows in every facet of the business. Inventory ranges across all major firearm categories, from beginner handguns, rifles, and shotguns to advanced, world class examples from the great manufacturers and craftspeople in each of those categories, here and abroad. Staff are carefully chosen based on firearm background, knowledge, experience - and a willingness to listen to clients as well as advise - to determine which products and services best suit each individual client's needs. The most striking example of services is the in-house range experience, where both CGW staff instructors and visiting, nationally recognized firearm experts offer classes and private instruction - again, from beginner to advanced levels. I've always found that CGW staff meet the highest level of professionalism - through their firearm instruction along with their consultative approach to matching up the right firearm with the right client. read more

Indoor gun range is nice. Prices on ammo are good and there selection is pretty good. Staff/owner is nice.

I needed a case for my newest shotgun and did not see anything I liked at my local firearms emporium. I searched online and found one I really liked but it was out of stock everywhere but Cape Gun Works so I ordered it and hoped it was as it looked online. The case arrived here in California so fast! It is really stylish and excellent quality. Thank you Cape Gun Works for the great service, fast delivery, quality and good price. read more

I took the women's basic firearms safety course with live fire and it was a great one to take. Informative and also fun because you get to do hands on experience. Our instructor Nichole was amazing. She individually make sure that all of us are safe. I'm a left hand and right eye dominant so she makes sure that I am comfortable using a pistol even if I'm the only one that is different from the group. read more

Cape Gun Works is one of the best facilities I have ever visited. The show/sales room is set up very well. It's clean and inviting with professional, friendly and informative staff. I attended a LTC safety course last week that was taught by Rachid and would highly recommend anyone to sign up. Even though this industry is known to be highly male dominated DO NOT let that intimidate you at this location. I definitely will to return and use the range with friends who are members. THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH. read more

My husband and I had a private lesson with Glenn. I had never held a gun before and felt very nervous and was quite intimidated walking into the range. However, Glenn immediately put my mind at ease. He obviously had years of experience in training, with just the right mix of professionalism and light heartedness. I was amazed by how much there was to learn before we even held the guns and he presented the information in a way that was relatable and easy to recall. I'm so glad that my first lesson was with Glenn and plan to sign up for a follow up class. I highly recommend him. Also, the 2 gentlemen that were working the range that day were very welcoming and helpful. We found everyone to be extremely professional. read more

This was my first experience with Cape Gun Works. I took one of their introductory handgun classes as a refresher. Glenn, our instructor did a great job. He was very engaging, gave great detailed explanations and examples, and he kept the class moving along. Range time was well organized and again, Glenn stepped up and provided good safe management of the range while a bunch of mostly noobs, myself included, tried to figure things out. I had some issues and got some really good 1x1 from Glenn that helped me immensely and gave me lots to work on in the future. All in all it was a really nice, relaxed, educational experience, highly recommended. While there I had the time to browse through the nicely stocked, well organized store, and to see the rest of their facility which really is first class. I am pretty sure it is going to be my go-to from now on, and I am looking forward to taking some of the more advanced classes offered. read more

We took our second refresher lesson with Glenn Wilcox. He is so professional and so knowledgeable. We needed a refresher course he gave it to us. Patient, understanding and informative and an excellent teacher. Taught us how to load our guns safely with a loaded chamber-and then took us out on gave us training on different scenarios of an unexpected intruder in our home. We came out of there more secure with our guns and ready to defend ourselves. We highly recommend Glen for anyone that needs firearm lessons!. read more

Placed an order for an item that was available in store. Called to find out when it would be available for pickup only to be told in store meant it was at their distributor and would take a couple weeks. Fast forward two plus weeks, left a voice mail as I couldn't get a live person during business hours asking for an update. Nothing. Sent an email with the same question. Got an email back saying the order was cancelled, the item was no longer in stock. Guessing they didn't order from their distributor fast enough and I lost out on the item to some other shop who is on the ball. First and only experience is poor. Plenty of other good small shops out there that will treat you right. read more

I had a private lesson w/Glenn W. He was very patient, helpful and an excellent firearms trainer. I am new to this and Glenn showed me how to hold my gun, grip it correctly, load and unload it. then we did a live fire drill, which i found very helpful. I am trying to set up another private lesson w/Glenn, my sister and me. Thank you Glenn for a helpful and interesting gun lesson! you're the best and I'm trying to set up 11/22 1:00 for my sister and me but when I check off I'm not a robot it gets stuck. We are so lucky to have this place on Cape Cod! They should really call it Cape Gun works school, I have learned so much here and I am grateful for the professional instruction and the sage advise from all the employees. Recently I joined Girl with a Gun shooting league there, and I had a semi private Lesson with Nichole also. I gained a ton of confidence from the lesson and from the Girl with a gun shooting league. ( and I had a blast too, shooting with these women LOL) . I highly recommend Ladies night, or Girl with a Gun for any female looking to improve or just get more comfortable with your weapon , and if you can take a private lesson with Nichole, she will assess your skills and take you to the next level. read more

I called Wednesday night just before they closed to order 250 rounds of milspec they had advertised for $3.89/box of 5. They refused to honor the price we discussed the previous day. Very unhappy customer! read more

Cape Gun Works takes the edge off for the novice. Every personal interaction has been positive. My wife and I took the license to carry course here. Although there was a cross section of people in the course from novice to experienced security guards, the information presented was well paced. Surprisingly the average age in this course was probably 55 - which shocked me. I understand they have LTC courses for ladies only on occasion, but rest assured, my wife felt perfectly at ease with the regular course. As we await (and wait) the arrival of our LTC cards from the commonwealth, we finally got a chance to try out Friday "date night". For a modest price, they set you up with everything you need... hearing and eye protection, a gun of your choice, a box of the proper ammunition, a target, and an instructor to guide you the whole time. This was a great way to take the fear/edge off for newcomers... the last time I had fired any kind of (real) gun was when I was a teenager - over 50 years ago! We got to take the target home... which I must say was presentable. (We started off at 5 yards, but we increased the distance to 10 yards as our comfort level grew.) We are not the "prototypical" gun protagonists (ok, we lean liberal), but gun use/ownership should not be a litmus test to party affiliation - it should be non-denominational. Here at Cape Gun Works you should feel comfortable, as you gain the knowledge you desire/require/are constitutionally afforded. We did, and we expect to continue our journey at Cape Gun Works. Update: After several "date-night" practice sessions, we finally received our LTC cards, shopped around, and then purchased our firearms here. My wife's choice was in stock; mine was ordered, and arrived in a few weeks. They offered the option of acting as the middle-man, and for a modest registration fee, having me order a firearm on-line, and having it shipped here. Their pricing was fair enough, so I ended up buying directly from Cape Gun Works. It was nice being able to then test our newly-acquired firearms at the range. read more

I visited Cape Gun Works for the first time today. I have to say that it was a great experience! I've used many different firearms over the years, but I've always been a guest of someone else and used their guns and ammunition. Recently receiving my class A large capacity LTC and purchasing my first firearm, i was going in by myself which was a little intimidating. CGW's staff were very professional and accommodating, and my trepidation soon was gone. I had a wonderful time and would highly recommend CGW for anyone on the south shore and especially Cape Cod. Thanks to all! read more

I never fail to find every visit to Cape Gun Works time well spent. The staff are friendly, polite, and knowledgeable. CGW offers superb opportunities for firearm newcomers to gain proficiency and confidence in handling firearms. These range from courses and personal instruction, to events such as their popular Friday Date Nights, to range access and firearm rental. My wife and I first got acquainted with CGW, before we obtained our MA License to Carry, through their Friday Date Night. The $70 fee covered the rental of a hand gun, a box of ammunition, targets, and basic gun handling instruction. We had so much fun on our first outing that we set up a Date Night outing for several family and friend couples when they visited us a few weeks later. I have since taken CGW's Introduction to Pistol Handling course taught by Brenna Leary. Brenna is a tremendous instructor: she's knowledgeable, helpful, and encouraging regardless of skill level. Several of the participants in the class drove almost two hours on the reputation of Brenna and this class. My wife will take this course with Brenna later this Fall, and I plan to take this course a second time if Brenna is teaching it. The other reviews on Yelp extolling CGW for their courteous service, their knowledge, and their encouragement to newcomers are spot on. read more
