Friendly for families, dogs, leisure walks or even bike rides. There are no signs pointing to the trail in clear sight unless you actually know where the start point is. This trail is also on the web if you want to know the history, parking spots, and entry spots.

First time I came here a girl brought her eight week old puppy into the large dog side when there were some big damn dogs up in here. We tried to politely explain that maybe not the best idea because she hasn't had her shots and she could be hurt. She got super angry and stormed out. Said the puppy had her shots (um, no) and then glared at everyone from the small dog side. Second time some dudes dog comes and pees on my leg, no big deal except that's a training opportunity. He said I "shouldn't have worn such nice stuff to a dog park." I was wearing dirty jeans and three year old boots. I don't care if dogs jump on me, jump on my boots, get me filthy with black mud. That I can just remove. If your dog pisses on my damn shoes that's a different story and while it happens, it's an opportunity for you to say "NO!" And explain to your dog that we don't pee on people. Instead he literally laughed. So yeah, nice enough dog park with clueless people who don't pick up their dog shit. The good outweighs the bad but don't be surprised when people act a fool.

The large dog area is huge and even has a second area in the back. There's always buckets of water out and waste bags available. They finally covered up a big mud hole that was pretty gross but then took away the kiddy pools for the dogs. There's no agility equipment or anything in this park so make sure you bring your own toys. There is so much room they could make this place great for dogs but just do the bare minimum. There's also a walking trail, if you do all them equals out to about 3 miles. Overall is pretty good gor a free park, never had issues with other dogs and it's maintained regularly. It was a great hike both easy and slightly challenging. Raven Rock was beautiful and many photo opportunities were available. There are several stairs that you will walk down and remember you will have to come back up. Walking at a steady pace going up and down the stairs will definitely raise your heart rate but isnt to challenging. The Visitor Center is nice with a short history display to walk through, t-shirts for sale, bathrooms, park maps and the attendant was most helpful in letting us know which trails have the best views. There are benches strategically placed on the trail as well as containers to dispose your trash and recycleables. There are no restrooms on the trails. There is no cost to walk the trails. There are a few shelters located within the park. We will definitely go back again.

Hope Mills Municipal Park was a huge part of my youth growing up very close by. This little center of town makes up the perfect collection of services that make up an All-American place. There's the library I mentioned, fire station, police station, town hall and a park all wrapped up into one spot. The park itself is surrounded by a mostly paved one mile trail for walking, running or casual bike riding. Inside you can find plenty of parking, a few lit baseball fields, basketball court and even a couple football/soccer fields. There are picnic shelters, water fountains and bathroom. They even have concession stands for when the local games are played here. Last, and perhaps most important, there is a lightly attended recreation center here which I understand is free (or maybe just really cheap) to all residents of Hope Mills. In general, one would be remiss not to scope out this quiet and charming park.
