Clean Nice Overall Dog Park, wasnt any dogs there but Buddy & I just walked around and enjoyed the sunny day

Huge fenced in dog park! Has a section for larger and smaller dogs. Bags for poop, doggy drinking water and benches available. The parks are seconds from 95 and extremely convenient on the way ... cute little decorated fire hydrogens perfect for doggy peeing. Tons of space to run around. I will definitely come back when we go on road trips down South.

Love this wooded park right off I-95.

This is such a great park!! And what a blessing to have a place like this for dog parents while traveling. Nothing like watching your pup run free after long hours on the road. There need to be more parks like this along all highways across the USA!! Thank you Benson Dog Park!

3 acres of well-kept fenced property for your beloved fur family to have play and exercise time. Great for travelers and locals alike. Our baby loves it here!

Relatively small and uninteresting but right off of 95 near a gas station. Small dog area too.

Like some others have mentioned, the problems with the park aren't really pertaining to the park…read moreitself. It's usually the people who come to the park. Every so often you get someone not cleaning up after their pet, a rambunctious pup that doesn't know their own size, a h*mper, or an aggressive dog. Those are more owner issues, and with a park being public space, there's no real way to curb that. You just have to be on alert. Besides those things, my main issue is the height of the fences and that IS a park issue. It's right by a road people usually speed through, and among the many dogs I have and foster, one of them is a treeing walker coonhound. If you know anything about that breed, you know they be tree-walking. They tree-walk trees mostly, but they'll happily tree-walk their furry butts right over a fence if it's short enough. These fences are more cake-walk than tree-walk for my hound. I can't bring her here. She will yeet herself over that fence and right off the doggie census. That said, assuming your dog is not a fence-jumping maniac, it's a fun place.

The big dog park and the little dog park are two completely separate parks, in fact you have to walk over a little Bridge to get to the big dog park from the little dog park!! There are plenty of poop bag holders and trash cans and there are a few little benches around for you to sit on. There are a couple of agility items and a fire hydrant!! Wouldn't be a dog park without a fire hydrant. The ground covering is kind of like bark chunks? If you have weak ankles it's a little hard to walk on. But there are some old groceries and plenty of room for your dogs to run around and have fun. There is parking very close although you do have to walk across a little Bridge unless you're going to the small dog park.

There are two areas: one for small breeds (under 30 pounds) and one for large breeds (over 30 pounds). Each area has benches and water stations. First time I came here a girl brought her eight week old puppy into the large dog side when there were some big damn dogs up in here. We tried to politely explain that maybe not the best idea because she hasn't had her shots and she could be hurt. She got super angry and stormed out. Said the puppy had her shots (um, no) and then glared at everyone from the small dog side. Second time some dudes dog comes and pees on my leg, no big deal except that's a training opportunity. He said I "shouldn't have worn such nice stuff to a dog park." I was wearing dirty jeans and three year old boots. I don't care if dogs jump on me, jump on my boots, get me filthy with black mud. That I can just remove. If your dog pisses on my damn shoes that's a different story and while it happens, it's an opportunity for you to say "NO!" And explain to your dog that we don't pee on people. Instead he literally laughed. So yeah, nice enough dog park with clueless people who don't pick up their dog shit. The good outweighs the bad but don't be surprised when people act a fool.

Most popular time is definitely before 10:30am. But even after that there are always pups there. I can't speak for the small dog park, though. We have never had a problem here all dogs have been very friendly as well as the humans :) The park is very large and has lots of room for your dog to wander and explore. There is a small trail that circles around the inside of the park. Two baby pools, plenty of running water, and tons of benches! The city does a great job of cleaning it and maintaining it

The folks who bring their dogs here are for the most part attentive and friendly, and both sides have a shelter with a picnic table or benches and chairs as well as benches along the fenceline. There are plenty of dispensers with good-sized, sturdy "mutt mitts" and trashcans dispersed around the fenceline for picking up after your dog. On weekends there's usually a well-attended 10am meetup on the small dog side. The medium-large side is huge with loads of room for unobstructed ball/frisbee throwing and a path that traverses around the inside of the fence. Parking is usually good except when there are soccer games on the fields at this end of Southern Community Park. We often park at the north end of the park and walk the easy quarter mile over to the dog park (there's a paved trail), and you may have to do this if there are soccer games going on. If there has been a lot of rain, the lower end of the medium-large side has an area that gets really muddy and should be avoided if you don't want your dog getting into the mud. We enjoy going here several times a week. It's an excellent place to get some good off-leash social time and exercise for your dog.

Upon pulling up we were greeted with a welcoming smile and an explanation of the ins and outs of the facility. We opted to pay 2 extra dollars to park within the gates ( because it was shady) but in the end feel that this was not really worth it for us that day. It was actually further away from the beach area. However, if you plan on grilling it will get your vehicle right next to the picnic tables and grills. There is a snack bar that is decently priced. There is also the opportunity to buy water toys. It wasn't too crowded and there appeared to be an adequate number of lifeguards monitoring the area. The bathrooms were surprisingly clean and there were also port-o-lets placed strategically around the parking lot. There are several water slides, a tarzan swing, and a slippery floating obstacle course. Bring sunscreen, towels, sandals( the sand is hot) and some beach chairs too! Next time we go we will take advantage of the grills! Overall tons of fun and we were able to spend several hours there!
