Lots of little crabs along the way, and birds flying overhead. The parking lot is very convenient. We arrived at 10 am and only 3 cars were in the lot. For non-Audubon members it is $8 for adults, $5 for seniors and $3 for the little ones (ages 2-12). EBT participants are free for up to 4 people when you show your card. They have quite a few trails along Cape Cod Bay, as well as some freshwater streams and ponds. Time your visit to low tide. Take the boardwalk trail down to the Bay. You can walk for miles on the sandbars. You can walk forever in the shallow water. On a rainy day you can sit in the huge window seats at the visitor center and watch the bird feeders.

There are some nice walkways to lookouts over the ocean and the marsh, and also a bike path that leads to Nauset. It can be a bit buggy on those walkways due to the marsh just fyi. There's tons of accessible parking. In fact it's only accessible and resident parking available at the lot right by the beach. My only complaint is that while there's lots of accessible parking, the lot is pretty far away from the entrance to the beach. As someone who can walk, but not for longer distances without a break, it's a bit frustrating. I wish there was at least a drop off point, but there's only a sign that reads "no drop offs at anytime. I've read they have beach wheelchairs in season, but there were none available at the time I was there.

This hidden gem has 2-3 miles of wooded trails for trailing running, dog walking, and light hiking…read more While the paved rail trail and the small beaches along the way are fun to explore, it's the wooded trails that are a win for me when I want a shaded run that's easy on the knees. Trails are well maintained and easy to navigate. Parking is available from the Main St Rail Trail Lot. For the wooded trail, you can either access it from the smaller secondary lot or take the main Rail Trail about a quarter mile down towards the river until you start seeing small paths on your left. There is a dirt service road with power lines running parallel to the rail trail that you will cross over. These power lines will also help navigate you back if you get turned around. I had to knock of a star because the trails are not marked so you can get turned around. Luckily the loops are short so you can't get too lost but don't be surprised if you end up in someone's driveway or come across a dirt road you weren't expecting. There are a few spots along the loops that have benches if you want to take a break and enjoy the views.

It's about 45' long and 35' Tall, though half the height is buried under ground. It's a nice rock to climb and play King of the Mountain. It's easily accessible from the Nauset bike trail. There is also a handicapped accessible loop trail around the boulder and the picnic area.

I don't know man...but I feel like it is…read more When hubs located these dunes as part of our nature escape in Ptown, I was like...."ok" and shrugged my shoulders. But once we started ascending on a narrow sand path leading to the tallest peak, all we saw was a stretch of pure gold and imagined some desperate soul running frantically looking for water. Even with the frigid late December visit here, make sure you bundle. Hiking on sand was difficult especially since we wore denims- but definitely wear leggings or joggers to get the most mobility as you hike up. We didn't prep ourselves mentally- so once we got to that tallest peak, we came back down and never saw past the end of the dune and into the ocean. Dune Shacks could well be that place that combines the dune+beach beautifully together. What a dramatic and lovely place to visit. If you're into the breeze rustling your hair and really sinking your boots in the sand, this spot's for you.

The bridge crosses a creek that connects with the Cape Cod Bay, which corresponds with the tide. Speaking of tides, if it is low, you will smell the dirt. It's not that bad when you get use to it, but be aware. If you're better off coming if the tide is high, that is your choice. The view from there is great, overseeing Wellfleet and the Island. Parking can be found from 300 ft. down from the bridge. There is no sidewalk that connects to the lot, so please be careful. Once that's done, enjoy the stay!

You can cross the bridge into the park (Hamblen) and walk more although today we couldn't get very far as there were massive puddles due to recent rainfall. Very quick spot to visit just for the bridge but well worth a look see if you're in town.
