The center path goes up a hill that splits up while climbing up to its peak. Staying on the center path is a bypass. It will then meet up with the same path continuing ahead after climbing down. Going straight will meet up with the three I mentioned earlier. After the meet-up in the center of the Island, the path becomes one that leads to an uphill onto another path, this time a dirt trail. You'll notice some structures on the ground, which use to be a railroad bridge. This dirt trail use to be a railroad line way back in the day. Enjoy the walk while admiring the history.

That's one of the advantages of walking a ton - you slow down and see things that have always been there but you've missed. Part of my intentional consciousness of really viewing my surroundings. The Meadow on The Cove is exactly what it sounds like - a giant meadow of wildflowers overlooking the Orleans Town Cove. Very pretty and worth checking out. Not much to do here but there are two clearings with park benches, so you can sit & rest and reflect or read in peace. There's a small parking area when you first go in (room for 5 cars) but I had the place to myself the entire time I was there. A lace like this is part of the charm of a small town like Orleans. And don't forget the bees! TONS of big, friendly, fuzzy black & yellow Bumble Bees taking full advantage of this massive field of Wildflowers. There's something very zen about watching them make their rounds. (Full disclosure: when I wrote 'black & yellow Bumble Bees' above, it made me think of the metal band Styper! And Michael Sweet, the lead singer of Stryper actually lives on the Cape. Yes, I know I'm a weirdo. But still, Stryper Rocks!)

Great alternative to the Minuteman if you're looking to get outside the city and bike somewhere with less people. Most of the trail there isn't a ton to see, but there are some cool areas (views of the water, golf courses, etc.). That being said, I didn't make it past Brewster (started in Hyannis), so I'm not sure what's beyond that point. I'd come back for sure!

They must have 6 picnic benches with most of them in the shade which is very beneficial. Also have plenty of park benches too. The grass area is also very nice. It's not huge but enough for kids to run around and have a good time. The big toy is aged, but still very nice and they have toddler swings. Yes, the beach isn't large, as it is the same size as it was 30 years ago. They have the are roped off. There is plenty of beach are for kids to play in the sand. There are life guards there too...

Woods and bikes…read more Brook's Park is a very rustic park that has a wide variety of things to do. Some very nice basketball and tennis courts as well as a lovely gazebo for picnics and very gentle hiking trails with soft pine needles are found within the park. The park is situated right next to the 22 mile Cape Cod Rail Trail that goes through several towns and meanders down to the ocean for those intrepid enough to brave the chilly water to take a dip. The fact that the bike path goes through towns means it easy to stop and load up with liquid or better yet ice cream. The park is well used during the summer months and is also used for X-country skiing and snow shoeing in the winter. A lovely park to enjoy some activities or just find a peaceful and quiet corner for some relaxing and reflection.

Wood chips and no shade over the equipment means it can be rough on hot days. There are shaded benches and tables for eating. A small parking lot and port a potty for bathroom is also available. There is also a skatepark and tennis court for pickle ball (they charge for court usage). A basketball court with water views is also nearby. What is great is having a beach across the street so you can make a longer day out of it.
