I have always regarded this as THE place to get fish in the area. Haven't been disappointed.

They've been open for 30 years and have live conchas negras and all sorts of latin specialties. Very helpful staff. Highly recommended.

The security guard whose name is Willa came to help and brought me up and took a stone to let me have a break, he is American, very nice guy! Asked what I need and how was feeling after the incident, meanwhile he called the manager! DC Market (德昌DeChang in Chinese) is one of many places to shop, and they specialize in meat and takeout meals. This location is similar in size to their Chinatown location, though Flushing has more of a rectangular layout in contrast to the long narrow layout in Ctown. Their butcher counter is pretty much unparalleled compared to other Asian supermarkets with the exception of maybe large format Hmarts. DC carries a wide breadth of edible animal products both au naturel and marinated, including more familiar meats such as pork chops, short rib, flank steak, sea bass, running the gamut to less commonly appreciated though edible parts like frog legs, pork lung and hocks, beef tongue, whelk. Marinated specialties like tangerine peel minced beef and pork ribs in pickled plum sauce caught my attention, among many others. The second largest section is the ready-to-eat food section, with items pre-portioned in takeout containers, priced by the container. This area is composed of several counters with a wide selection of steamed, deep-fried, baked, sautéed and stewed dishes, all categories covered--vegetables, meats, carbs, savory and sweet--food items for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Overall food quality is not quite on par with good restaurants as some other reviews mention, though not too bad if you're looking for a quick simple meal. Aside from aforementioned meat, some seafood, and takeout, they have a suitable breadth of fresh produce, refrigerated/chilled, dried and frozen foods. What you don't find too much here are packaged snacks and processed foods, which I suppose is a good thing.

Inside is pretty well maintained and clean. Staff are very professional and work quick. Word of caution, if you bring your own bag, you can't put stuff in it. Use their shopping carts and add in after paying. This store particularly has a lot of problems with people stealing. There's a wall of shame you can check when you walk in

They also carry a number products and brands less commonly found in other Chinese supermarkets. This Skyfoods is one of a few locations, two in Flushing and one in Elmhurst; this one sits on the first floor of the Shops at Skyview on College point Avenue in downtown Flushing. Walking in from the main entrance to the shops this is kinda hidden towards the back of the building. It's nice that it doesn't usually get too crowded. They give free parking in the structure if you shop and buy over $40. What's nice similar to some other larger Asian grocery stores (Hmart, Mitsuwa) is they sometimes do sampling stations on weekends where they showcase a handful of products. My last purchase of a box of Asian pears was because I got to try a couple pieces of sweet fruit so I felt confident in picking up a box. Aside from fresh produce, meat and seafood, dried, canned and packaged foods, they have relatively larger refrigerated foods and tea/drinks and snack sections. See pics of some interesting products. Also for example they carry some instant powdered sweet fruit (jujube, sour plum) teas here I don't find in other places, and for that reason alone I make a trip here every so often.

What I liked most from this store is that it had written English words for all the green vegetables which was a big help. Not familiar with all the latest international produce items coming in as well can not read Chinese characters. Definitely, shop here for produce for prices are reasonable. Also, find out what's on sale. These are the best bargains to be had. As you walk into the Great Wall supermarket there two levels. One on street level and ramp/stairs to go below. Found prices to be tad marked up. Presently, they are still giving away red bags. They probably have lots stocked up that needs to be given out. Will be back next time just for the produce and post update review on the departments here.

Happy New Year Everyone! 祝大家新年快乐!…read more Not sure if anyone remembered this used to be 金山超市 many moons ago. Today, My parents and I stopped by this Great Wall location because it was so convenient near our family doctor's office. We had to check-in our shopping cart with security however I still noticed many customers strolling theirs around the supermarket. At the upper level, you can buy fresh vegetables, fruits, meat, seafood, etc. At the lower level, you can buy snacks, dried goods, sauces, tofu, noodles, eggs, etc. There are promotional signs throughout the supermarket where you can find great deals. Note: There are more registers at the upper level for checking out!
