Came here for a bit of a walk and to enjoy the views from the Cap. Also to see the leftovers from what was the D-Day Operation.
We parked just down by the start of the path - at Parking La Breche. Limited spots, but free of charge.
At first, the path is really easy to manage and fully paved. We had our dog stroller with, so that was great. Later on you have the choice to keep on the paved path (sharing it with bicycles) or to take a more scenic but unpaved path. We took the scenic way, which was still manageable with our stroller.
The Cap has some really nice views. Some nice cliffs to the west. Everywhere around the Normandy here you will see Bunkers and other WWII reminders. Very interesting for us was the Provisionary Harbour. Lots of parts are still there and clearly visible. To imagine what happened here on D-Day and the days and weeks after. Check out some photos from back then. It was impressive what was built here and how the war was turned that day.
The walk itself is a pretty easy one and you could keep going further west. Which we did for a while. It's just an enjoyable walk through a pleasant area. We really liked it. read more
