With the exception of a few really good officers, this is where cops go that can't find employment…read moreanywhere else. At least that is my assumption based on the lack of professionalism and capability in my few dealings with the Caldwell PD. I recently called to check on the laws for carrying a firearm in your auto. I was new to Idaho and wanted to make sure that I was obeying the law. When I asked the clerk (who insisted I ask her the question first...) she was 100% ignorant and gave me false advise. ("You can have a gun in your car but it CAN'T be loaded.) I knew she was wrong so I then contacted the Sheriffs Dept who gave me what turned out to be the accurate answer. ("Idaho is an open carry state, a loaded weapon is completely LEGAL") Not sure who to believe, I called the Idaho Bar Association and confirmed the Sherrifs report. Two days later a Caldwell PD officer returned my call to field the same question. He was also completely ignorant in what the law says. Scary to think that these people enforce our laws but have no concept what they are enforcing. With this knowledge, I decided that ANY interaction with the Caldwell PD will be recorded both audio and video. I'm not at all anti LEO, I am however anti-stupidity. The caveat to this is that I have met a total of 2 Caldwell PD officers that are good cops. I admit, I don't know many police officers but my first interation with them only spoke of utter incompetence.

I've had so many bad experiences with police officers, but the worst would have to be Caldwell PD…read more Just the other day my friends were enjoying the stars by the lake, because some parts of caldwell are a little too light polluted to see the stars anymore, and a cop pulled up beside them to tell them the park had closed a few minutes ago. They had lost track of time and were completely understanding and respectful. The police officers proceeded to tell them that they wanted to search their car, my friend felt like she had to say yes. Two large male cops with their hands on their guns "asking" to search your car, intimidating. She cleans her car out weekly and doesn't do drugs or anything of the sort. They had the nerve to "pull out" a pill bottle with dust that they "found under her seat". She insisted it wasn't hers and finally they said okay we'll just dispose of this then. FRAMING and unprofessional. A total joke.

I will start by saying I advocate for people needing help with their utilities. City of Nampa…read moreWater and garbage is deplorable for their service communications and billing discrepancies. In the past 3 months I have assisted 8 people with emergency utility reconnects. I ALL 8 cases there was no shut off notice given. No knock on the door. Just waking up to no water. Then when the bill is paid these people have been left waiting from 5 to 8 hours to have their water turned back on. Even calls to customer service, asking for an ETA were answered with, "they will turn it on when they can turn it on. We don't know when." This is not acceptable. 5 of these people have disabilities and the other 3 are elderly. Going without water for that long is unacceptable. And charging a 45.00 turn on fee for waiting that many hours is deplorable. In my opinion the city of Nampa utilities is taking advantage of people. 2 of the people I assisted needed their bills adjusted twice due to a water leak the city knew about for 2 months since they had to send someone put to each location to turn the water off while repairs to the pipes were being made. Yet they still shut these people's water off without a notice of any kind. This is horrible behavior and terrible treatment of human beings. Shame on you. Shame on you CON (city of Nampa) utilities. You all know what you are doing. Do better by the very people you say you aim to serve.

Nampa is the largest city of Canyon County, Idaho. Its population was 81,557 at the time of the…read more2010 census and grew to 100,200, according to the 2020 Census. It is Idaho's third-most populous city. Nampa is about 20 miles (32 km) west of Boise along Interstate 84, and six miles (10 km) west of Meridian. It is the second principal city of the Boise metropolitan area. The name "Nampa" may have come from a Shoshoni word meaning either moccasin or footprint. * excerpts from Wikipedia Walking along the main drag of the "downtown" I see a few vibrant bars & eateries and at the same time also a lot of empty retail spaces available, hope that with the opening up after Covid things will improve!!
