We e only been here once. We live in south meridian and this library was massive compared to what we're used to. The whole first floor was geared for young readers and kids. My boys loved the return conveyer belt which updated returns in live time with a barcode reader. My seven year old adored the wide range of graphic novels and both kids enjoyed some IPad time as well. We will gladly return, even with the 20 minute drive read more

Beautiful library, wide selection for children! Bring your kids and let them indulge in crafts/reading and let their imagination run wild. Pretty big library. Needed to print a paper and it was free of charge for one! read more

A great public place for the community. Clean and well maintained with lots of quiet spaces for reading and so much more! read more

Screaming children can be heard throughout the building. They have large enclosed meeting rooms, but apparently they feel the taxpayers wanted cheap daycare rather than a professional library.... read more

People at Library are super friendly. Was helped by Ashley and she was awesome. Whoever runs the library does a great job directing the employees. read more

Amazing library with lots of classes and events as well as books, audiobooks, and other media. Beautiful design, friendly employees, and centrally located in downtown Nampa. read more

Wow! What a great library! Full of space for studying and quiet computer work. The children's section is really large and there is a used book store in the front. Being able to buy your kid a book for $0.25 or $1 is really awesome. read more

Beautiful new library in downtown Nampa. So many fun activities for kids. Great for adults, too.

Great library. It has three floors, all for specific age groups. The shelves are packed with books. The reason why I can't give a five-star review is that, in my opinion, there is not enough books about mythology. read more

I usually always have a great time at this library. I'm a stay at home mom to a baby so most of the time it's how I get out of the house and communicate with the outside world as I feel the library is a safe space. Well today at around 12:25 I had a very unsettling experience. I had not been able to make it for a few weeks and realized I had some overdue items. I figured I would take them straight to the front desk as it may be easier to return in case of fines. The first girl who saw me didn't help me and told the other girl to. When I said it was for overdue items you could tell she looked visibly annoyed and told me I can return them regularly but she would help me anyways. After I returned them and waited at the elevator the other girl must have assumed I was gone as she started talking about "I don't understand why people don't understand our return policy and that there's no fines now." In a very annoyed tone. The other girl followed it up how "most of our people who come here are old and don't understand" .....I'm 28 years old and way to be ageist.... I just assumed it would be easier for the library. I do get very annoyed though this library does seem to not want to help people and just points us to machines every time. Last I checked the people at the front desk were supposed to help people check out stuff and return items.... It's why they have the equipment they do at the desk. I was not very nice and told them to maybe wait till I was gone before they started talking about me. I regret that but that whole interaction left a very sour taste in my mouth with a library I very much love and is a big part of my life. read more

Awesome library! Great selection, kind staff! Free parking for one hour in garage next door.

I love this library! Very friendly staff and great choice of books, love the computers too!

Beautiful. This library is absolutely gorgeous and you can tell a lot of thought went into planning. The location is great but the lack of free parking is a bit frustrating. If you want to spend a few hours browsing you'll have to pay for it. Good book selection and so much to visually look at. Way to go Nampa finally some high end stuff. read more

I like the "new" library and it's spacious but there aren't enough people to help in my opinion and some aren't the most friendly and don't even look up to notice those walking by. But I'm used to the Idaho Falls library where I grew up and (disclaimer) my mom works there but people don't really know me cuz I haven't lived there for 25 years., I just visit occasionally. But in IF, the library is spacious. This library does seem to be having more programs now, like Lego club and learn to knit or crochet. But Idaho Falls has a smaller population and has had a better newer library for 30 years. Idaho Falls has longer hours (10-9 M-Th, 10-7 I think on Friday and 10-6 I think on Saturday). They have a really awesome children's and teens' summer reading program that goes through the end of August, but then their schools don't start until August 29 or so and get out the end of May. The Nampa reading program ended at the end of July, with 1/3 of summer left to go. Real people answer the phone almost every time in Idaho Falls, no automated phone system where people don't actually call back! In Idaho Falls they have to answer the phone if they're there even if they're already closed or not yet open! They have to smile and acknowledge people as they go by even if they're working on something! So my standard and expectation is the Idaho Falls library. The Nampa library really isn't very close. There are public computers with thumb drive slots to save your stuff and I guess there's free wifi. read more

The Nampa Public Library is another example of how Idaho will waste money. The original location was okay, but there wasn't anywhere to really park and the parking situation was a little dangerous because of the traffic. The original location was convenient because it was next to the post office, but that was about it. After much delay, they built a new library. There is more parking now, but in the form of a parking garage. It works like a normal parking garage. If you are there for a few minutes you don't have to pay, but if you exceed a certain time limit you have to pay. It does not make much sense to have a parking garage since there are various places to park where you don't have to pay. Ever since the new library has been built traffic has been a complete nightmare. The roads were easier to navigate before, but now you have to break out the map and compass so you do not get stuck like the Grislwold's did when they kept on seeing Big Ben. By now, I have become used to it not to mention I used to live in downtown Boise so it wasn't too horrifying to me. The inside of the library is nice. It looks a little more modernized, but there is room for improvement. Nampa Public Library has not caught up with the times you might say. They do have a system where you can return books, but sometimes it malfunctions. Some of the books and movies I get from Ada County are so new and glossy that the scanner at the Nampa library can't read them. So, you have to walk inside the building to turn them in. If the book return messes up there is no way to contact anyone to let them know without walking all the way to the front entrance. There are some things that they do not have. Being a patron you have access to just about every library in Idaho. So, I order books, movies, and music. Some of the items are in the Nampa library like Chaka Khan, but I have them sent to the Meridian library since parking is such a pain and the Meridian library is closer to where I work. There isn't much support for the community as far as the arts are concerned. I discovered Biblioboard at the Meridian library. This primarily supports the community in Ada county even though we are in the same state and not too far from each other. I complained about all of the above and about there is nothing for local writers in Canyon County. I received a response back about how much money it would be to implement something like Biblioboard. So, in other words they wasted all of this money to have a parking garage where you pay to park and they turned traffic into a living nightmare. Nice work. Needless to say, I rarely come to the Nampa Public Library. read more

I absolutely love the library! We go there weekly. Amazing selection of movies and books, fresh content, clean, helpful staff, quiet and aesthetically pleasing. I love that I can count on them to get the books and that I need to do research and engage my children and learning activities. They also do tons of community events that are great for facilitating growth here in Nampa. read more

Just want to give out some information that was not presented when receiving a guest printing card. when your card expires after the 3 days any balance left over the library keeps !! Just don't want anyone else losing money. Also watched a mentally disabled adult fall down their stairs and they did nothing to check on her or help her they also still charged her to replace the items broken during the fall even after witnessing the accident. just a little disappointed in the service . read more

Very clean and well taken care of library. My son loves coming to story time and the coloring area. I usually spend an hour or two at a time browsing. The selections are great. I don't like that I have to park in the parking garage though. read more

Mmmm! The smell of old books! This place has it. While this is a smallish library they do quite a bit with the space. There is a working area for classes downstairs, which seems to be the size of the library and it is used for reading times, adult classes, etc. They utilize space really well with multiple floors of books, even filling up the nooks and crannies. The staff is well trained and helpful. There are weekly classes for children and adults and they do a great job of providing reading incentives for elementary through high school students. All in all, I like this library. It has a feel to it that makes you want to sit down and read. Perhaps I am spoiled by big cities and simply expect more, therefore this library does seem a little dinky to me. That being said, it is Nampa and it's not like a metropolis of literature is needed. Nor would it be appreciated. This library seems adequate for the area. They are building a larger library across the street. I don't think it is going to be as cool as this old place. read more

I love the library and it is seriously awesome since they moved into the new building. The decor is peaceful and welcoming to library patrons. They have a lot of resources for visitors and the staff are always willing to help. The reason I can't give 5 stars is because I am a little peeved that I would have to pay an annual fee to use the library! I am a Nampa resident-- my address is Nampa yet due to the fact that I don't live within city limits I can't enjoy the library as a member/card holder unless a pay a fee. That just seems wrong to me. Pretty sure it's a PUBLIC library to be utilized by the public. read more

One of the largest public libraries in the state, this modern facility is at the top of my list when out of town visitors ask about things to see in Nampa. One drawback is it's current operating hours. read more
