New family room/kids area. My kids love the decorations.

I really do love the Eagle library and even more so now that they added a large family room to the left of the building when you walk in. The space is decorated so nicely. My kids love playing there. They have so many new toys there now that we could go there now rather than say the children's museum in Meridian. We visit the library close to once a week. I love that I can swing by and they will put my books out front for easy pickup for when I can't quickly go inside. The staff has always been super friendly and they are great with my kids. They offer lots of classes and story times for littles. Overall the facility is clean. I've never had a bad experience.

Winner, winner chicken dinner! We love the Eagle Public Library. A little gem with lots of books, and interesting items to borrow, friendly librarians, quiet places to study, gathering places to meet, and community events. Watch the online calendar for the arts and crafts, story time, and other offerings for the littles. It is located in Old Town Eagle which is a gem in itself.

Great public library! Lots of resources, nice layout, friendly staff, plenty of computers, and a lovely patio. Taking off one star because patrons can get quite loud speaking on their phones inside the library. I've wished on many occasions that library staff would circulate and encourage those being loud to step outside or book a private room for their meetings or phone calls. The same goes for the kid's video game area -- they are loud when playing, and it's very distracting when reading or trying to study. It's great that they offer video games, but this should be in a separate room so that others can function in a semi-quiet environment.

Tonight, kids at Eagle Middle School celebrated their artwork!! Teachers greeted parents and students while we walked around to view student artwork. Students felt like celebrities -- as their work was displayed with their names and grades. They even had sparkling cider and cookies as treats!! Fun!! Eagle Public Library frequently hosts events that support the community and our kids. Bravo!!

Everything you'd hope for in a public library. Book Selection: Awesome for kids to grandparents. Service: Fast, responsive, available, friendly. Parking: Ample spaces all around. Technology: 3D printing is available. Lots of public access computers. Open WiFi: Yes. Places to sit/ stand: They have lots of choices where you can get work done either sitting at a desk or standing at a desk. Most, if not all, of their tables have electric outlets to charge phones, laptops, and other electronic devices. I loved that. I found this a great place to get work done for school and my career development. There were quiet rooms that could be reserved so I could meet with a team, make a phone call, etc. Was this post...?

I called eagle library on Nov. 20 and was hung up on for no apparent reason, I had only asked to speak with an employee.

Who would have known? The entrance is welcoming and warm and definitely laid out to allow teens and adults alike to be a little more loud as they enter. The entrance is closed off, if you will, so the sound will not carry into the quieter areas. I see this as a great place for people to hangout, chat, snack if they wish, prior to actually entering where the books area. For a Thursday night, the place was bustling. I just walked around looking through books, checking out their monthly librarian picks, goat books, and relaxing next to the outdoor waterfall on the patio. If you need to escape your day for a few, think about the Meridian Library Patio. What a gem and I am serious! Once I found the book I wanted to take home, the librarians were wonderful! They listened to my library stories of when I was a kid and proceeded to tell me about the SUMMER ADULT Reading program, like when we were little. They have prizes, drawings, and check off all your lego looking blocks, and get a free book for completing your nightly 40-minute reading. What a great idea. I have such fond memories of my experiences at my local library and Meridian is such a special place to keep those library memories going, especially for children. (Or adult like me that still act like a child.) So the moral of my rave is, this place is great! I also love that when you check out books, your receipt tells you how much money you save by checking out your book! What a wonderful idea! This place is clean, welcoming, and you are sure to find a quiet nook to escape to the world of reading. Now just go! (The reason for my 4 is because I want to frequent this spot to see if my experience is consistent. I will update after a few more stop-ins.)

It is well staffed, pretty clean, especially the bathrooms, and offers a great deal to the community. Their kids section, new books, & DVDs were especially good. The DVDs are vast & perfect if you aren't streaming at home. There are even DVD courses to learn new things from art to algebra for homeschoolers or those who are deep diving a subject. Lots of extras here. [The only downside is the homeless and their pets taking over the outside front, talking loudly, and using the bathrooms inside. I almost don't mention it to avoid anyone being turned off but it is reality everywhere now.] So many floors to explore. ( see my photo the map of the library and what is where. ) There were places to sit and read comfortably. A place to refill your water bottle or get a drink is a plus while visiting here. Additionally, in this space there seems to be room to grow. The employees were friendly. Check it out

I have the biggest, book geekiest affection for the Boise Public Library…read more I even love the exclamatory sign (Library!) in a way only a book lover could. I mean, I typically say the word "library"in such a way that begs an exclamation point. Ie: I love the library! My favorite place? The library! Books! Books! Books! Liiiiibraaarrrry!! (I did mention that I'm a big ol' book geek?) As much as I love to wander through the shelves of books, I'm a busy person (so many books, so little time). So, here's how to do the Boise Public Library(!) busy girl style: Get yourself a library card (of course) Sign onto their website (www.boisepubliclibrary.org) Plug in the title of desired book from your "books to read" list. If you don't have a "books to read" list, search online for a book that you might like. You can search on the library's catalog online or wander around Amazon. Click "place hold." They don't need to have it at the branch that's most convenient for you--as long as they have it somewhere, you can choose to pick it up at the branch of your convenience. Receive email (usually, if its immediately available within a day or so) that book is ready. Go to library, go directly to hold section (right in front of check-out), grab book, check-out (I'm usually in, out, book in hand in less than 2 minutes). Voila! Your next literary adventure is waiting in your hot little hands... Get to it!

Its the best to get away from the noisy students who know they SHOULDNT be on the 4th floor, but they are and they are loud! there were a few nights I was there where there were some middle eastern/muslim people who were doing their prays or something....and honestly? in the freakin library????? NO! That is not cool! I would have gone down to complain, but I have my laptop, my camera, backpack,...I have to pack all of that up because they say that people were stealing items that were left while people went to the bathroom or whatever....so, naturally Im not going to leave ANY of my personal items...So basically, you may hear some muslims praying or just other students who are flat out rude and don't care about others who are trying to focus. They are kids tho, those ones...and thats to be expected I guess? Its the library to go to though. You really will get you stuff done. The public library up the street...children. Enough said haha! :) What I said above, just take that as one or two incidents, mainly with the muslim people, don't see it as an everyday thing, because every experience I have there is usually a fantastic one! :)

The first floor has the check-out and circulation desks, printers & computer stations for use, e-catalogs, plus some open meeting areas. There is also a Starbucks connected to the main level which is a great place to grab a cup of coffee or meet up with study partners. My one big complaint about the library has to do with quiet space. Dedicated study carrels are available first come, first served on the first day of the semester and they are promptly gone the first day of the semester. The floors that are supposed to be "quiet" floors are not really that quiet (I've often heard very loud talking and laughing on the third floor, which is one of the quietest ones). And the enclosed rooms that are also first come, first served are always taken by individuals or groups. I wish there were more quiet places in the library to study. However, there *are* noise-canceling headsets available on the first floor if you want to study in peace. This library also checks out electronics like iPads and laptop computers. Plus, it has one of the prettiest views of the river (great to rest your eyes and give you a sense of calm during finals week) if you grab a desk on that side of the building.
