I've only used Maurice for tire work but the price and service made it well worth using them for more things in the future.

I admittedly ended up only swinging by for a general check-up on my car after driving myself across the state. They were clear about how long it was going to take them to get to my car (that I brought by without an appointment), and they actually got around to completing the task before the estimated time. They were really thorough with identifying issues, and rather than try to sell themselves, they preemptively asserted that I could take my car elsewhere if I felt more comfortable with that; they still wanted to show me exactly what/where the issue was so that I could share that with whomever I would ultimately decide to do business with. I really appreciated how genuine and honest they were without making me feel guilted into having them work on my car. I'm not going to sugarcoat that the quote was a bit steep, but I trust that they were going to be the most diligent and detail-oriented people for the job. Their expertise is impressive, and I'm glad to know that I can always come here if I have car troubles again. Wholly recommend for character alone!

Went in for an oil change at the local Honda dealership and they recommended I change the steering rack on my car. The estimate was $4k+. Called several different shops to get quotes. Saw Tran's Auto Repair and read through some reviews and thought I'd give it a shot. Not only did Sy take his time to check on an estimate for me--which was very reasonable for the work required to replace a steering rack--he also suggested I bring the car in to double check to see whether I actually need the replacement. I was able to take the car in a few days later and after checking, turns out the rack was seeping just a bit of fluid, but not a major leak (what seems common for a car with 150k miles). Recommended we don't change it now and continue to check on it every oil change until it becomes an actual leak (if that ever happens). That recommendation checks out with how the car drives. Before my visit to the dealership I didn't notice any major issues with the steering--the car seemed to still have firm, controlled steering even at highway speeds. Mind you, I understand the business nature of auto shops. It is advantageous to recommend and do work on vehicles. But the fact that Tran's recommended not to get the steering rack replaced right now should speak to how honest they are with their customers (even a new one). I'll be back, and would highly recommend this place to anyone in need of service/repairs.

They told me what would be involved and that they would not be able to work on it without it costing a fortune. A less than honest shop might've tried to soak me for a repair job that ends up costing more than expected. I know, because others have tried that. These guys gave me an honest appraisal, and I remembered that when choosing a shop to work on my wife's car. We had just bought a 2006 BMW 330 ci, and like clockwork, just after the 30-day warranty expired, we had problems. It had just rained torrentially for three straight days and unbeknownst to us, the drainage ports in the trunk were completely clogged, allowing water to build up and penetrate to the electrical system. We noticed the dash lights, indicators, and steering wheel controls did not work. We brought it to Toole's with the hope that it was something easily diagnosed and fixed. It wasn't. To keep an already long story from getting much longer, I will just say that it was a 4-day-long diagnosis as the problem component(s) were not easily found, even with advanced diagnostic equipment. They sought out expert advice from other professionals who specialize in BMWs. The problem component was found and replaced. I originally agreed to three hours of labor, but since it went as long as it did, I happily agreed to an extra hour. So essentially, they stuck to the agreement plus a reasonable additional amount. I tried to add on a tip but they wouldn't accept it. We bought them pizzas instead. I recommend this shop because they're honest, friendly professionals who seem to really want to help out their customers while running a respectable business.

I arrived a few mins early for my 1pm appt today.. and then I was told that they could not complete my service because there was not enough time. Please tell me why I received a confirmation for my appt if this could not be done TODAY? Or if you knew ahead of time that it could NOT be possible, why did I not receive a call sometime BEFORE my appt? Their way of fixing the problem was to "accommodate me" by offering me a time tomorrow (a weekday). That sounds like you're accommodating yourself more so than me. That's convenient for YOU. There are people who can only get these kind of services done on the weekend, me included. Then they offered me their branch in Redwood City, but provided me with a Jiffylube address just to get me out the door. But wait.. TO TOP IT OFF, they offered me a "discount" the next time I could come in. The price they offered me was more than; if not the same price I would have paid TODAY for the service. How is that a "discount"? After respectfully trying to see what they could possibly offer to make this situation right...in every single aspect, this was accommodating YOUR COMPANY and NOT me, the customer. Why would I come back? To get denied for another service? I am totally taken back today with this situation. I really hope you put this into consideration for your company. Especially if your Yelp staff is encouraging your customers to book their appts online for a "discount". This seems to causing people stress..and being you are the "stress-free auto care", this far from the case.

Perhaps a flat tire on the way to work is the signal to have an inspection, which is exactly what Justin had recommended for my car. I went with many of his recommendations in terms of what to fix, and the reports are just so thorough in what they find, that it is hard to delay anything to be taken care of. Justin's transparency throughout the process was definitely the highlight - his communication was stellar, even after my car was fixed, he called me to see if everything was all right after the fact. Although the turnaround time was extended, they offered a ride to the shop, as well as offered their rental car for the potential weekend I was going to be without my car, which I ended up not needing the entire weekend, as my car was only in the shop the next extra morning. All in all, I have a maintained car, new tires, and I had yet another great experience at A+ auto repair. Thanks again Justin!

I found Clarity, which luckily is a very short drive from my house. They were extremely communicative and transparent throughout the entire process. Did a full inspection on top of the issues that I brought it in for and they made recommendations, but I did not feel pressured to make any decisions. Ultimately I got everything done anyway and they were so quick. They sent photos of the car and photos confirming the issues they found as well. Not a shady shop at all in my opinion. I also brought it in on a Monday morning, the car was ready by I think Thursday or Friday that week. After dealing with my car sitting at the dealer for months with little to no communication, this was a HUGE relief for me. So I decided to bring it in again to get my new rims installed. Literally within a couple hours the car was ready to be picked up, the process was super easy overall. These guys will be my go to for any future repairs or general maintenance that I need from now on. I highly recommend them. Unprofessional communication and questionable billing practices…read more Based on my recent experience regarding an AC repair, I recommend avoiding Clarity at all costs. I brought my vehicle in for a diagnosis and received a four-item quote (compressor, condenser, lines, and recharge). I originally accepted this quote with an agreed-upon completion of the end of the next business day. The issues began with communication: Late-stage changes: At 5:20 PM the day before the work was set to commence, I received a text stating the parts supplier had changed, the price had increased, and the timeline was being extended. They also requested a deposit despite not doing so earlier. Lack of transparency: When I asked for a breakdown of the price increase, I was simply sent a link to a long PDF rather than a clear explanation or a phone call to discuss the new terms. The most concerning part of the experience: Because I had not yet approved the new, higher quote or the extended timeline, I messaged them the following morning to decline the job. I was told they had already removed my compressor. Management's stance was that because I had originally approved the "items" on the first quote, they were entitled to start work on those specific parts--even though the total project cost and timeline had changed and I had not signed off on the revised estimate. The shop manager told me I needed to "take accountability" and that this was a "me problem." I was ultimately charged an hour labor just to get my car back. If you value clear communication and a pleasant customer service experience, avid Clarity Auto at all costs. It's genuinely the worst customer experience I've had.
