Cantina is a brilliant little tea room halfway along the narrow Church Street in Wimborne Minster. We arrived on what was clearly a busy day - both in this small market town, and in Cantina itself - but were seated quickly near to the door. The pot of tea we ordered arrived almost immediately, which kept us going until the sandwiches arrived after a little wait.
The food here was very high quality - mostly simple sandwiches and home-made cakes, but everything was fresh and the soft, wide rolls used for the salmon & creme fraiche were particularly good.
There is plenty of seating, both downstairs, upstairs, and in a small covered courtyard outside. I didn't go upstairs so I can't accurately gauge the capacity of the place, but it seems to be towards the "cosy" end of the spectrum!
Wimborne is an interesting and historical little town which is worth a visit, and Cantina is as good a place to stop for a quick snack as any place you will find there or elsewhere. They operate some kind of loyalty card scheme, but I'm unsure what you get free when the stamp spaces are filled, as I forgot to ask!
Really tasty produce, fast service even when busy, and friendly staff. So very recommended. read more
