3.5 stars rounded down to 3 because it wasn't quite 4 stars. Cantina Bravo was recommended to us, so we decided to try it out. It's a nice restaurant with more tables than you'd think by just looking at the outside. There weren't very many people in there when we visited around 6 pm on a Sunday evening. The service was pretty good. Our waitress checked on us a couple of times throughout our meal. The menu has denotations for "gluten free" and "vegetarian" which is helpful for someone like me who is gluten free. I appreciated that. The prices, I feel, have reflected the inflation that we are seeing currently. I don't feel like you get as much food for the amount you pay anymore. But it was good food. We did order a beef quesadilla for the kids meal and got a cheese, so that was a bummer. But he ate it anyway. I will say the corn tortillas are very good and the highlight of my meal! We do have a favorite Mexican restaurant in the area, so I'm not sure if we will return, but if I were going with friends, I wouldn't veto Cantina Bravo as an option. read more

Excellent selection but most of my party chooses the California Burrito which is about the best around IMO.

One of the better looking Mexican restaurants in town in terms of atmosphere. Not diner-y but a touch more upscale. Not fancy by any means, but clean and neat and nicely done. We moved to the neighborhood - and while our go-to Mexican place is now too far away (Festival) - we are happy to have Cantina Bravo as a once-in-a-while substitute. For food, I had the tamales and they were very yummy. And the tableside guacamole was awesome. I wasn't a fan of the pale refried beans, but that's just a preference of mine. Still ate them and they were fine. The house margaritas were inconsistent - hubby's was pale yellow and mine was more green. So I traded mine in for a top shelf and that's definitely the way to go. And while I'm usually too full for dessert at a Mexican restaurant, the tres leches cake was to die for. Flan was meh, just FYI. I would like to try a sopapilla next time. So we're definitely coming back. Festival is still my favorite, but Cantina Bravo is a nice change. read more

Wow what a nice new restaurant. Our plates looked like a real chef prepared them. The food was good. Loved the salsa, the Chips were ok. The price was great ... fajitas for $9 was the special and it was a big portion. Service was great. Went for supper today... excellent. The special was a great deal for $9. Huge portions. Cantina Bravo looks fine and the food was good, but the service and over charging was a disaster. They only knew what drinks and meals went to the entire group, certainly not who ordered what. When they brought tickets out we were able to get that straight, fairly quickly, but that all changed when they returned with the charged/paid tickets. I went with a group of about ten people. Each person or couple paid separately. One person paid for her meal with cash, before I paid with my card, but when they returned with my card, they had a different total, by the cash paid meal price. They offered to pay cash for the difference, which I refused, simply on principle. When I checked my charges they had a hold on the original $20+ and the additional $36+. Yesterday the original checked and they had replaced the $20+ with the authorized $25 charge, but have yet to clear the $36+ charge. I called and was told to call back today any time after 10:30am, but when I did call, I was told no one would be in today that could help me. read more

Came here after an extensive yelp search for a good Mexican place in the Joplin area. I was visiting family so wasn't familiar with places around there. Plus, yelp has yet to let me down. It didn't this time either. We had a big party, they do take reservations, so that was nice. We were seated pretty promptly. Service was excellent, friendly and fast. This was our second time we went on Taco Tuesday. They have $1.00 tacos that are so delicious. I like the way each soft shell taco comes wrapped in foil. I love chips and salsa and refried beans. Both are great here! The beans are different. They are a different kind of bean and extra delicious! We enjoyed the Margaritas as well. Try it, for sure! read more

Cantina Bravo is a relatively new restaurant in the Joplin/Webb City area. We went there to try it out based on reviews on Yelp, and we sure weren't disappointed. We had a variety of entrees on the table - everything from "Bang Bang" Enchiladas, Chili Verde, Carne Asada Tacos, and the Diane Special. We also got the tableside Guacamole and a bowl of the queso dip. EVERYTHING was wonderful! The flavors were great, much more than the usual toned-down midwestern Mexican food so prevalent around here. The sauces and salsa had a nice amount of spice and flavor, and our waitress was perfectly on point, had suggestions for us (and even brought us a sample of the bang bang sauce), and kept our chips and drinks full, even though the restaurant was busy. Our bill for the two appetizers, four soft drinks, and four dinner entrees was right around $80 including tip - and we tipped accordingly, given the high level of service and attention. If you like Mexican food, be sure to give this place a try! We've found a new favorite place to eat - highly recommended. read more

The only reason I'd didn't give it 5 stars is because the service is a hit & miss. Either you get someone who is spot in & makes you want to leave 25% tip or you get the one that gives you the wrong order, no drinks & forgets you came in at all. Having said that, the food is to die for. Not Tex-mex which Joplin is known for, its actually AWESOME Mexican food. You won't leave hungry for sure. read more

I have never given a bad review, but I was blown away by how bad this food was. I would give it a pass if it was the only Mexican restaurant in the area but there are a lot of really good ones. There was absolutely no flavor in the food other than salt if you are lucky, and it was not spicy at all. It was my wife and I's first date after our move to the area and we spent the rest of our day literally sick (I'll spare the details). No flavor, the food wasn't fresh, and the salsa tasted like marinara. I will say the service was okay, but It was overshadowed by the low quality of food. If I could leave 0 stars I would. Was gifted a 50$ gift card for the holiday season, I went in with my sister. We go to pay and use to the giftcard and they said they not honor those gift cards anymore. They said they no longer used the company so they didn't take the cards. I was talked to by an employee who was very rude and definitely was okay with a restaurant taking peoples money for gift cards and then not letting them be used. read more

We stopped here on our way home from Mokan. The food and service were both fantastic! I had carnitas and my husband had Chile verde. The pork was so tender and flavorful! The beans are navy beans rather than pinto beans. So delicious! We would definitely come back! read more

We found a new fav!!! We was so blown away by Cantina Bravo! The place is very clean with an upscale decor. The food was amazing! Everyone at our table shared bites of what they had and it all was delicious. The food comes out nicely plated and very quick. The waitstaff was excellent! Made sure everything was refilled in a timely fashion. They wore uniforms that added to the "upscaleness". Drinks were great atmosphere was pleasing.... highly recommend this place. We live in south Joplin, but will be driving to Webb City for our Mexican Food addiction! read more

This is a cute new Mexican food place!!! The food was great, but the atmosphere was definitely what will keep us coming back. You might not think a restaurant right next to a gym (which they offer a discount for 24hr members!) would be that fancy, but it is really relaxing. One of the nicer Mexican places in town for sure. Everything was excellent! The food was nicely seasoned, freshly prepared and the portions were big. The service was very nice and everything arrived fast. The salsa was very good but I like mine hotter so I asked for a bowl of hotter sauce and it was brought right away. Also asked for a side of jalapeños and more than I expected was brought.
