I heard great things about this place from locals, so I had to come check it out for myself! The energy of every worker is so positive and welcoming. Despite a busy drive-thru line and decently packed inside, each staff member had a smile on their face and worked quickly. I ordered a latte with oat milk and honey lavender. It was SO GOOD. Their oat milk is really creamy and the flavors are both strong. I can't wait to come back and try more! read more

This place has most of the pieces for a successful place, but misses out on quality: The eclectic environment is not well curated and seating, is hit or miss on comfort, and style. The artwork is way behind the Times, seeming more like displays of what an older woman might hang in her abundant garden. Not true café fair. For me, the coffee was not a great flavor. It didn't seem well sourced or related well to the machine, or barista process. Plus, the huge amount of foam seemed more suited to a cappuccino than a latte. Staff were both happy/pleasant, but maybe needing more from mgmt (better ingredients, more training/finesse in pulling espressos and a narrower focus - what exactly do we have to do to improve our game?) read more

Cinnamon rolls were SO GOOD! However lots of the smoothies were out of stock, but the coffee and chai were delicious. Very yummy!

Visiting this area again made sure to stop in here for a coffee treat. They can mix a couple different flavors for you. I got white chocolate, English toffee & Caramel. Very good! Also got their breakfast burrito. Was full of eggs & bacon with some cheese. Really good flavor! Comes with chips & salsa. read more

Great quality coffee and desserts, but customer service is lacking. Looks like they don't have a way to track orders once they're placed and if they're busy, chances are you'll have to remind them about your order. Blended espresso drinks are good but they use hot espresso straight from the machine instead of cooled espresso so your drink comes out pretty watery and weak. read more

So I think that I found a coffee shop that I like. I had memories of places I liked in this town, but when I came back and did the rounds I was not satisfied. Everywhere else had things Iiked, but not everything I was looking for. This place almost does. For me the most important thing in a coffee shop is the ambiance. Cantebria has it going on. When I walk in I first notice the little bakery case full of cookies, muffins and treats. There is a bit of a cabin feel (imagine that in up here?) The next room has inviting tables and a couch by a fire place. Then in the back is my favorite. It's like a cozy little cave with low celling beams with plant thingys on them and a dim glow coming from the lamps. It's fairly quiet most of the time, but still a good place to hang out with some friends. It's a good place to read, study or what ever. The people are pretty cool there too. I like it. read more

This is a wonderful coffee shop. It came highly recommended by a friend of mine. I'm a very picky coffee person being a barista myself, and the latte they made was heavenly. I really enjoyed the food and the service was great. I would have loved to have stayed longer and to sit front of the fireplace all day long. read more

Love this place! The servers are friendly & know the menu. The hot coffee is great but I especially love the white chocolate mocha frap. Delicious & just the right balance of coffee & sweet. I can't seem to come in here without purchasing one of the fresh peanut butter cookies either! Yum. There is a great place to sit and relax or use the wifi. Best coffee shop in Bemidji. Wonderful atmosphere for relaxing. The only Starbucks in town is in the Target and that is just not the atmosphere I'm looking for. Three stars because the lighting is terrible. If I have work to do that involves reading, I'm going to Caribou across town where I can actually see my papers/book. However, don't let this steer you alway from Cantabria as it is a wonderful coffee shop. Just make sure you only have laptop work to do if your are going to sit inside!!!! read more

This is the best coffee shop in town. Unlike most coffee shops that serve Tazo or other tea bags I can buy at the grocery story they serve loose-leaf tea. The atmosphere is decent. There aren't a lot of windows, but it has free wi-fi and some computers available for use. read more

Such a friendly staff, and a great location. Plenty of seating options, whether you need some privacy or are feeling social. I often use the drive thru, and they happily give my dog a biscuit. Great breves, and incredible smoothies as well. read more

Yikes I have no idea how this place has five stars. My latte was warm at best and I drank it immediately and the service was HORRIBLE! The manager Josh is terrible!! I will never spend another dime at this establishment there are many other coffee shops in town that offer HOT coffee and exceptional service! read more

What happened to my favorite coffee shop in the town of Bemidji? Firstly, why are baristas shoving a tablet through the drive thru window, saying, "it just has a couple of questions for you", which means, do i want to tip $1, $2, $3, or NO TIP. Oh, and if you can actually figure out how to tip less than $1 (since the total is like $4 something) then whoop dee doo. The unfortunate thing is this new practice (they used to just swipe your card and return it with a receipt if you wanted one) is really awkward. Why would I want to pay a tip when Im going through the drive thru? On the occasions that I used to sit down in the coffee shop, I would consider a tip. But drive thru!? That doesnt make sense, no one is serving my table, nor am I taking up a comfortable spot to sit and to enjoy the ambience. I'm driving through, picking up a coffee and heading off. So please stop that, it seems desperate and having been in hospitality, I find it off-putting. Secondly, what happened to the coffee? It tastes burnt and not-all-that-great. I used to visit Cantabria specifically for the quality and cost of the coffee, now I might as well go to Cabin or that one by the lake. Get your act together like when you guys opened the place the first time... and I will come back and provide a fair update and hopefully a change to this review. read more

Meh. The food is hit or miss, I think it depends on who is working that day. Consistently inconsistent. The coffee drinks have gone downhill in the last six months or so. I would, however, recommend the brownies and the chocolate muffins. read more

I like that this town has so many locally owned coffee shops. nice added touch that they roast their own bean right in the front. the pressed breakfast burritos with a little side of tortilla chips and salsa makes for a delicious pick me up snack! read more
