One of the best places for vino, tapas y alegrias in Denia period. We had reservations for 20:30 and our table was waiting on us when we walked in. The place opens at 1900 and it was already packed when we arrived.
Such a hip, vibrant and delicious spot right down on the water's edge right across from the port. A laidback environment, amazing staff with a great crowd, excellent food, premium wines and libations and stellar presentation.
We stopped in for our last night in town, and it was everything hoped for and more.
Russian salad, prawn croquettes, flaky potatoes and smoked icelandic cod in olive oil with tomato, dessert chocolate truffles with cava to finish. The russian salad was true to type and a generous portion to share. The croquettes were traditional and cooked holden brown with full flavored prawn interior. The flaky patatas in a league of their own, everyone does patatas bravas around here and these are exceptional, a unique presentation with great kitchen skills. The smoked cod another standout, a beautiful plate and the cod was melt in your mouth tender with a rich smoked flavor and such a refreshing end to our savory choices that night. To end our host suggested the chocolate tuffles with a glass of cava, this was a simply amazing finish. The cava complimented the chocolate prefectly, it was and is one of the best flavor combinations around.
Canita Brava is a part of a winery vintner and the red and white wine selection is top notch. As well, this little eatery has a full bar with a nice selection of premium libations.
What truly makes this place special is its kind staff, gracious manager and primo owner. We were treated like familia and had a great time and experience.
Canita Brava is small, intimate and lively with a great staff. One of my best experiences while on this holiday adventure.
5 Stars definitely worth a visit and reservations are encouraged.
