After just a few hours of training with Steve, Clementine is a new dog!!! He doesn't pull the leash on walks, doesn't bark when people come inside and most importantly he is calmer and less anxious. Steve is THE BEST dog trainer and I highly recommend him.

I have decades of experience fostering dogs and personally adopting many of my own, and over the years I've worked with a wide range of trainers. Without question, Steve is in a league entirely of his own. His talent, intuition, and depth of understanding when it comes to dogs is extraordinary. He doesn't just train dogs; he teaches humans how to truly understand them. What made the experience even more unforgettable was the joy he brought into the day. We laughed constantly. At one point my cheeks genuinely hurt from hours of smiling and laughter. And yet, amid all of that warmth and humor, we walked away with an incredibly clear, grounded, and practical understanding of his methods and a deep sense of confidence in our ability to apply them. Steve's approach is refreshingly doable: just five minutes of training per day, paired with his ongoing availability as a resource. That combination alone feels invaluable. We literally just completed our training day today, so I plan to update this review in a few months with more detail about long-term ease of execution and results with our dog, Griffin. But one thing I feel compelled to share now is this: throughout the entire day, even while Griffin was dramatically protesting (vocally, and with flair), Steve remained calm, steady, and completely unfazed. Griffin didn't love everything he was being asked to do, but he clearly adored Steve. He never cowered, never shut down, never showed fear. That level of trust speaks volumes. At one point, I asked Steve about scheduling an additional training day for one of our other dogs. His response was thoughtful, sensible, and deeply ethical: he told me it wouldn't be necessary. He explained that the principles I was learning with Griffin would absolutely apply to our other dogs as well, and that he'd be more than happy to answer questions along the way. That moment really matters to me because it so clearly reflects that Steve is driven by genuine passion and care for people and dogs, not by squeezing every possible dollar out of his clients. I also want to wholeheartedly acknowledge Tasha, who was incredibly kind, responsive, and compassionate throughout the scheduling process. We had to cancel our original training day due to a traumatic injury our other dog, Enzo, sustained: a spinal stroke. Tasha immediately offered to refund our deposit without hesitation. When I shared that I still very much wanted to work with Steve, she later went out of her way to find us an earlier date than originally offered after I asked to be notified of any cancellations. That level of care and humanity meant so much during a really difficult time. I am profoundly grateful for Steve and his entire team. This was one of the most positive, affirming, and empowering experiences I've ever had as a dog guardian. If you're looking for the best, congratulations. You have found it with One Day Dog Training!

But in the past several months he began odd behavior. He began growling, particularly in the evenings, often at nothing. Just walking around. Sometimes, if he heard a noise upstairs. If our other dog came to the stairs, he would growl. If my son or daughter came down the stairs, he would get up on his hind legs and put his feet on them, bare his teeth and growl. And of course, like many small dogs, the barking. In excitement when people came over, and in response to every sound. We met with Vivianne and she was amazing! She taught us some games to play with Pepper to build his confidence. She also taught us many different techniques to manage his behaviors. Over time the growling and the aggression have stopped. We have learned his triggers, and how to avoid them, and how to redirect him. Friends and family are impressed with how quiet he is when they come over to visit! Thank you Karma and Vivianne for helping us to help Pepper go back to his old happy self!

The Palo Alto location was the closest to me, so I signed up. I could not have gotten luckier! Sterling, the trainer at the Palo Alto location, has been wonderful. I have a very active dog, very active! We barreled into Puppy Kindergarten, he was the biggest there, and the highest energy. Sterling was calm, confident, reassuring...all the things she needed to be so that we would continue to come back. And it worked! I am pleased to say, that next week we will complete Puppy II with Sterling (we hope to graduate!), and I could not be more pleased. With my dog's energy level, I needed an extra pair of hands during class, I often enlisted my 11 yr old son to attend with me, and Sterling not only included him, but welcomed him in the class. She is very clear and concise with her instruction, it is clear that she loves dogs, and they love her. She made herself available during and after class to ask questions, or request that specific behaviors be discussed during class. Sterling has been great to work with, my dog is very respectful around people, jumping is at a minimum, and there is no begging. This due to Sterling and Sirius dog training giving us the tools and training we needed. I hope to continue to work with Sterling on my dog's high energy/stimulation issues. I am confident that she can help me resolve them. He has come so far in such a short amount of time. We are lucky to have found Sirius Dog Training and Sterling Chu!

They're both very observant and concise, and you strike a great balance between recognizing what each pup and owner need in the moment while still keeping the class moving forward smoothly. At around three or four months old, he began exhibiting both separation anxiety and serious reactivity. We knew he was a sweet dog, but his behavior made it impossible to convince others of his sweet nature. After the first trainer, proved an epic failure We began to think that we would have to return him to the shelter. He was utterly unmanageable and getting bigger each passing day We knew returning him would most likely result in him being put to sleep. His reactivity would've barred him from adoption. We absolutely could not allow that to happen. My wife happened upon Freakin Pawsome's website and the outstanding things people had to say about Will. We reached out to Will and he agreed to meet with Mischief At Will's first meeting with Mischief Mischief did his very best Cujo impersonation. I was sincerely worried Will would refuse to train him. I was surprised when Will agreed to take on our challenged Shepherd puppy and very grateful. Once Will introduced himself to Mischief Mischief took to Will immediately in less than 10 minutes. Mischief was taking basic commands from Will and I knew that we had found the right trainer. Over the next four months, I witnessed a total metamorphosis in Mischief. Will very patiently inconsistently guided Mischief to being a truly happy dog! As Will thoughtfully, patiently guided Mischief to being a good dog, He taught an even more important lesson to myself and my wife on how to be good dog parents. Will has given us the tools to continue to expand Mischief's development and Will's expertise has paid off on so many levels. Will quite literally save mischief life and allowed him to become a happy well adjusted family companion. He is also given our whole family a peace we did not believe possible, given Mischief's anxiety, and behaviors before We met Will. We want everyone to know that separation anxiety and reactivity can be overcome. Will has proven it beyond any shadow of a doubt. Mischief is a true testament to Will's expertise. Freakin Pawsome is exemplary in their methods And if you are consistent with the training and the daily implementation of the training, you will have the dog you desire. Thank you, Will you have our deepest gratitude

Dog training is not really about the dog, but the human. I found Jared through someone that adopted…read moretwo dogs from the rescue that I am a volunteer. After speaking with the wonderful adopter, I felt Jared could help me. I am a very experienced dog owner, all rescues. I was confident and had dogs pass Obedience and Canine Good Citizen tests. Then, my neighbor's dog viciously attacked me. That was never something I thought would happen. I ended up in the ER and then in therapy for PST. It did not stop me from adopting more dogs over the years, but I was not sure of myself. The experience rocked my world. I doubted myself and my ability to keep any dog in my care safe. I had another incident at a dog park years after the initial attack. A dog at the dog park attacked one of my dogs that same dog bit me in the process of breaking up the attack That hit me hard and did not help. The various dogs I adopted over the years, no doubt were noticing my insecurity. I was somebody that before the incident always knew what to do and how to diffuse a situation. Fast forward to late summer. After reading Jared's bio and speaking to the adopter, I knew he could help and I set up our initial meeting at my house. My dog in the backyard while Jared and I talked. During our first meeting, we spent 2 hours talking about my background. I told him I was a firm believer in the premise that a dog is only as good as its owner makes it. Jared fully understood that I would be on board with getting to the root of issues. He finally met Millie; the first female rescue She is a Pit Beagle mix. I got her when she was 2 years old and had never lived in a house. Her previous owner abandoned her in an SF park, 6 weeks after she had delivered puppies. Luckily, a rescue organization took her. I knew she was intelligent, alert, and needed to learn to trust people. She also needed to learn how to go through doorways. Fast forward and she is a loving dog, but highly reactive to other dogs. Walks for us meant making sure I had long sight lines and room for us to get out of the way. She listened to me, but again. I knew my interactions with her were lacking. Jared has been patient and has been collaborating with me. My former confidence is starting to come back. We have worked on Millie's impulse control, such as meeting people. She is OVERLY friendly to humans, which I know is a problem. Through our work, she has learned to be calmer and not to approach until given permission. One of the early adjustments we made to start using a Gentle Leader. I was hesitant because one never knows what a rescue has exposed to in their life. I carefully introduced it and have been using it since. I like the added security of using a connector, Jared's suggestion, to her harness or collar. This is long, so I will cut to the chase. A dog means a commitment to being the best custodian you can be for that dog and give the dog a safe life. Jared stresses repetition starting with small steps. Build a solid base to start. This is a process of learning, restoring my faith in myself, and working on things in the right order.

She couldn't leave my side, cried the moment I walked away. It was overall super stressful. Josh helped me understand where that anxiety was truly coming from. Turns out, IT WAS ME! He encouraged me to create healthy boundaries with Mango and offered practical solutions, along with dietary supplements, to support her emotionally and physically. I had no idea that excess energy could actually contribute to anxiety in dogs! Josh suggested adjusting her meal plan, and that alone made a huge difference. He also gave me plenty of tips and tricks to help Mango naturally regulate her anxiety. And since his program includes lifetime training, he's continued to guide me whenever I have questions or notice old behaviors resurfacing.
