They offered to put the parts on the rifle for me but the price of $80 was ridiculous. when I went to a trusted gunsmith we learned that the rings that were sold did not fit the mounting on the rifle and the scope that I had been sold did not fit the rifle either as it was too short. Not that I am as upset about thing but I was also informed that the rings on the rifle were not damaged at all and did not need to be replaced as I was told by the Rangeview employee. Now when I went to go return the products 10 days earlier with the receipt and all papers included and no damage being done. They then informed be that I will be paying a fee of $25 plus 4.5% to return the products. I think this is a ridiculous business choice and I will not be returning the store again.

Not a problem considering the influx of demand recently. Fast forward to pick up date: the manager and his employee transferred the wrong gun in my name. Again, not an issue. Transfer the gun out of my name, as I am clearly NOT the rightful owner, and transfer the gun I PURCHASED under my name. The 'man' at the counter tried to insist my taking a gun I did not pay for and which gun was not purchased by me. When I refused again, he and his manager dismiss me, get defensive and tell me they aren't going to sell anything to me period and to leave. This was by far the dumbest situation I have ever been in. This was a simple mistake with an easy solution. Instead of owning up to his mistake in transferring someone else's gun, he tried force me to take someone else's property to cover the entire incident up. ZERO INTEGRITY & ACCOUNTABILITY at this location. Tenda Canada has the model I originally purchased. Go there.

I'm really disappointed…read more I've read the terrible reviews here, on Google maps as well as on CGN and yet I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt in person. Suffice it to say I won't be coming back. The attitude of the staff really needs to change. They are blatantly ignorant, rude, condescending and unprofessional. I waited quietly in line behind a gentleman that was having some issues at the cash (no fault of his own) for probably at least 5 minutes. I didn't say anything and when it was my turn I walked up for the counter. At the same time someone walked into the store and approached the counter from behind me. The staff member (some bald guy) greeted the person behind me and said nothing to me. He started helping that person despite me having stood there patiently waiting for him to finish with the guy ahead of me. Seriously? Then he laughs at me when I remark that apparently it doesn't matter what order you walk in because it seems they just serve whoever they want. Overhearing what I was looking for when I started talking to another staff member, the first guy that completely ignored me pointed to one side of the store and said "they're over there." Unable to get the help I needed. Another staff member approached. Despite being hesitant at first to help me, he at least asked me what I needed and made the effort to find what I was looking for. It's almost like I was expected to know how they did things there despite it being my first time. It was also my last. I won't be going back again.

Customer service was amazing. Every time I shop here I am always satisfied with everything from the variety to the prices. I've been shopping here for a while and will continue to do so. Bunch of dishonest crooks run this store…read more I didn't know anything about weapons, so I got taken for a sucker by these sheisters. I bought a Beretta Elite II bb gun. Nick, the owner said that he sold the same gun yesterday to a customer for $225, and he was gonna give it to me for $180. Great, I thought. Then I went on the internet and realized that the same gun is actually a piece of crap and can be ordered from any website for $50!!! Guy charged me $180 for a $50 gun. Don't even think of buy knives, they're all marked up 2 or 3 times the retail value as well. Of course I went back and confronted Nick. He had the nerve to play dumb, saying things like "oh, it's not the same online" even though it was the exact same model. I even printed the page off the website and showed it to him. HE STILL DENIED IT, to my face, and tried to call ME an idiot and a liar who didn't know what I was talking about. These guys either don't know the retail value of anything in their store, or they deliberately play stupid. I ended up getting store credit after a long argument. These guys will rip you off without blinking an eye, and they do it by acting like the friendliest sales people. Horrible business practices. If you're gonna buy anything from there, don't pay a cent over 1/2 of the marked price. They will say "oh we gotta make a living too", but you have to be firm and tell them straight up that you know what the retail value is, and that's all you're willing to pay. Don't be suckered by these dirty Greeks like I did. I said "Nick, look me in the eye and tell me, as a man, that you did not just rip me off by over $100." Nick muttered some incoherent reply about being Greek and wouldn't hold eye contact.

The staff are usually friendly with me, but they always seem to want to engage in some kind of right-wing conversation, despite my repeated attempts to subtly signal that, 'yeah, thanks but I just want to be going'. The last time I was there they charged me $10 for a 50' length of paracord (the market value is about $5). Another indicator of their markup would be the price for those basic foil emergency blankets from Coghlan's: MEC on King St. has them for $1.75. Central surplus wants about $5. For a big piece of paper-thin foil. After bringing up my purchase, the woman behind the counter wanted to keep complaining to me about NAFTA--god, how old is THAT political chestnut? Bottom line: The only surplus store downtown, but avoid it if you can. You'll pay too much and possibly be creeped out by the overly opinionated staff. Maybe try save-more next to Moss Park.
