I really dislike leaving negative reviews for small businesses, and I gave Pigeon Hill Electric the…read moreopportunity to resolve this directly before posting publicly. I hired them to replace the outlets and light switches throughout my home and paid a little over $650 for the work. Unfortunately, after the work was completed, every three-way switch in my house was no longer functioning properly. I contacted Pigeon Hill Electric about the issue and was told they would return to correct the work. That never happened. I have followed up multiple times and have since received no response. I also requested a partial refund given that I will now need to hire another electrician to diagnose and repair the switches, and that request has also gone unanswered. Mistakes happen, and I would not be leaving this review simply because something went wrong. My concern is the lack of follow-through after the problem was brought to their attention. I paid for electrical work to be completed correctly, was promised the problem would be fixed, and have now been left with improperly functioning switches, an additional repair expense, and no communication. Unfortunately, based on my experience, I cannot recommend Pigeon Hill Electric.

I contacted JB after receiving the final design plans and asked for a detailed quote. They had a kid call us and I explained what we wanted and didn't want, I then emailed in a copy of the plans. After 4 emails & my asking each time for the quote, we've received nothing. What sent off a red flag was the person emailing me insinuated we should pay in advance (but the job wouldn't be done until spring 2023) due to prices going up next year. There is zero proof of price increases related to the materials, all of which I have sourced myself and talked to other distributors. How does a company think a person would agree to a service and pay for this service in advance without a detailed breakdown of labor/materials or final costs? This is the standard of service most people deal with in Upstate NY and why 90% of the time we end up pulling permits and doing the work ourselves. JB Plumbing and other "Service/Trade Professionals" upstate are really hoping the prospective client is either naive or incapable of performing the work we request quotes on. Plus, to top off the unprofessionalism of the JB representative she stated all warranties would be void if I don't hire them to service and maintain the system. Save your time & have a professional company from a non-rural area quote, you'll find the prices are normally cheaper or about the same.
