The store started out selling children's underwear and clothes and evolved into selling lingerie. 98 year old Miss J still runs the family business. When they first started selling undergarments all women wore girdles, hosiery, and bras. As girdles fell out of fashion they began to sell the more revealing lingerie that is popular today. With its jewel colored walls the store maintains a vintage feel. A historic plaque on the outside of the building notes its historical significance.
