I DO NOT LIKE THIS PROPERTY!!!!!!!! They were Unprofessional and spiteful. They canceled my reservation same day WITHOUT notification when the reservation was made 6 months in advance. The front desk clerk was unprofessional and spiteful. This is the room they pull me in after being on the phone for hours with IGH corporate. I didn't mean to give them a star. I wish I could give negative stars.

    Rust

Upon opening the door there was a musty smell immediately. The hotel is outdated to say the least and not the best area. I should of read the reviews before booking the hotel. Lamp shade is rusted along with the lamp table. This is probably the worse Candlewood suites I've stayed at. Would not recommend this place.

They wouldn't even clear out the garbage after being asked daily for the entire second week. I finally ran out of garbage receptacles.

I wasn't impressed by this place. My company put me and about a dozen other employees here for a two week training course. We were told the rooms would be cleaned and made up once a week. When we asked after the first week we were told it would be 7 days after check in which was Monday. On the Monday of the second week none of our rooms had been touched. When we asked at the front desk we were handed excuses about how busy the housekeeping staff was and that our rooms would be done the next day. Long story short, after asking every day, being given the same old excuse about how busy the housekeeping staff was, and not getting the rooms cleaned, we finally checked out at the end of the second week. They didn't even empty the garbage in the room. I suspect they even had the audacity to complain to our head office about us complaining. They don't want to know how that meeting went.

Room that was assigned to another guest...was assigned to me. Exhibit A why you should lock up valuables when you leave your room.

RUN!!! HOTEL IS NASTY. STAFF DOESN'T CARE. My family and I were in town for graduation at UNC Chapel Hill. We booked 5 rooms, several months in advance. Upon arrival we were greeted by THEE MOST slowest nonchalant front desk person. After standing in a looooong line waiting for the ONE slowest front desk person available, we were given room assignments. EVERY. SINGLE. ROOM. HAD. A. ISSUE. 1. Room didn't have sheets & comforter on the bed, 2. non smoking room wreaked of cigarette smoke so much that my eyes & throat burned 3. The room keys that were given was that of another guest who was ALREADY settled into the room. Unbeknownst to us, and we walked in on them. 4. Pull out couch had stains and smelled like urine. Comforter also had large stains on it. 5. Used toilet paper balled up on the floor, no pillows on bed, no trash can, no bedding for pull out sofa. When all these listed complaints were bought up to the front desk, the woman told me TO MY FACE "if you don't like our hotel you can always stay at the hotel across the street at the Sonesta Hotel across the street". Note: ALL 5 ROOMS CHECKED OUT IMMEDIATELY! We rolled the diced to find lodging. Duke Univ & UNC Chapel Hill both hold graduations on the same weekend and there were no vacancies in the area. While sitting on the bench searching feverishly for a place to lay my head. I also noticed that this hotel is home for many long term homeless residents. The outside wreaked of urine. If you like hostel vibes, then this is the hotel for you.

They're cool. The moved me when someone was disobeying rules and smoking inside. Hell, I can't even smoke outside my apartment in GA.

After noticing several religious…read moreitems in their pictures, I emailed to ask if they were open to working with queer couples and got the following in response: "This venue is located at our Christian home. We personally have gay friends but we believe their behavior is a sin. I am a sinner and I believe we should love the sinner and hate the sin. The current law allows gay couples to marry. I think gay couples should respect the beliefs of others just as they want to be respected. " Clearly, they don't want to come right out and say we are not welcome, but they made it clear. Nowhere in my initial email was I disrespectful to them, so I'm not sure whey they felt the need to point out that we needed to respect their beliefs. A simple, "We can not accommodate your request at this time," would have been fine. We were not asking them to officiate our wedding. We were asking them if they would do their jobs as business owners, take our money, host our event, and keep their personal opinions to themselves. How their religious beliefs impact their business I don't really understand. It is really too bad, because as I mentioned, this venue looks absolutely gorgeous. However after the rude and frankly condescending email back, I will be taking my business elsewhere. I suggest those who support marriage equality do not support this highly unprofessional business.

It's clean, easy to navigate, staff were very friendly. We met James in the front desk and he was the nicest person, he greeted us with a big smile and showed us all the information we needed. Yes, it has a door to separate the two areas. I also like its wooden floor, and overall the room was very clean. The hotel had a beautiful garden and pond. It was pretty chill to have a walk or jog in the morning around the pond. And even though the hotel is not far from the highways of the Triangle, it is surrounded with greens and close to residential area, so my stay was in general very quiet. Besides, I booked the hotel at about $130/night which was quite reasonable considering there were races in Chapel Hill. I should mention that there are not many restaurants or shops nearby, and the areas nearby are not very walkable. This was indeed a bit inconvenient to me. But due to the other greatness of this hotel I may still consider staying in it if I am visiting the Triangle next time..
