Toilet paper holder is loose and at a weird angle. Shower bar connection to wall is loose. Desk drawer closes at an angle. Nasty signs taped up in windows of entry area. Bag of food garbage was left in the hallway and not picked up for three days. Sign in elevator looks worn out. Somewhat redeeming features: Bed was comfortable; the room was quiet; and good hot water. Also parking was free although the website said $5/day.

We were in town to do a campus tour and UNC Chapel Hill and this place was only 15 minutes away. When we arrived we were greeted by the sweetest and most helpful young woman! We were a bit frazzled because traffic... ridiculous! Too bad I can't review that for improvement! Ugh! Anyway, she was very helpful, super sweet and just what we needed! Check in was easy and our room was spotless and cozy! I think my only "complaint", and I wouldn't even call it that, was towels... my daughter and I use a lot of towels. They "stock" just enough. And truthfully, it was fine. A friend would say that our need for so many towels is a third world problem, and she's right so we aren't even complaining about it. The only real problem we had was the toilet started flushing really slow BUT they gave me a plunger and that worked like magic! Overall our stay was comfortable and warm and everything we needed!! I'll add that they offer many different amenities! They have a gym, laundry room and even a room that has snack machines and such. You can access that room with you room card. Again, our stay was great! I suggest always reading all reviews but give people a chance! I think gay couples should respect the beliefs of others just as they want to be respected. " Clearly, they don't want to come right out and say we are not welcome, but they made it clear. Nowhere in my initial email was I disrespectful to them, so I'm not sure whey they felt the need to point out that we needed to respect their beliefs. A simple, "We can not accommodate your request at this time," would have been fine. We were not asking them to officiate our wedding. We were asking them if they would do their jobs as business owners, take our money, host our event, and keep their personal opinions to themselves. How their religious beliefs impact their business I don't really understand. It is really too bad, because as I mentioned, this venue looks absolutely gorgeous.
