Completely underwhelming experience last weekend. I was picking up flowers for mother's day for my wife. In times past my wife and I have really enjoyed the flowers we have gotten from this shop. We used to live in Santee and this was our standard. Times have changed or management has changed because the staff was VERY different. I have always found the staff helpful and collaborative based on my weak understanding of floral arrangements. This young lady was not accommodating, did not want to put together a custom display, i.e.: we did not need a vase have like 20 at home that we have collected over the years and found it more important to show me how much she knew about the existing arrangements rather then collaborate with me to come up with something my wife would really like and appreciate. Bottom line, the flowers started to die/wilt by mid week and yes we took all the appropriate measures, clipped stems, fresh water, and plant food. For what I paid for the flowers, $100+... i just expect better service and far better product. The flower biz is about as commoditized as it gets. If you have a weak product and your service is lacking... times do not look to sunny on the horizon for you. read more

I received this Beautiful arrangement today from my son who lives in Oregon. This is probably the most beautiful arrangement I've ever seen. He knows to call them since we've been using them for over 20 yrs and they always do exceptional work. They did our wedding over 20 yrs ago and we've Always been very Happy with everything we've sent or received. When the girl handed me this arrangement she explained how to care for it. Went in at 11 o'clock in the morning the day of my son's prom... Had ordered a corsage from another florist and when we picked it up It was horrible. The flowers were beautiful but ridiculously over priced. I got 2 dozen white roses, (split into two vases for funeral centerpieces) and it was $180. I'm all about supporting local businesses, especially in the middle of a pandemic but holy cow the price was insane. Would not use or recommend in the future. read more

I bought some flowers from them gave the lady a message to put on them and they had hours to write the message on there yet still failed to do it the lady I wanted to receive the flowers was out front and would have got them but did not because by the time my friend was done writing the message for me as I don't have the use of my arms she was gone and has no idea I got sick with pneumonia so I could not take her out to dinner for valentines day as they are still sitting in front of her home. I moved to Fletcher Hills not too long ago and hadn't needed a florist until recently. I found Candlelight on Yelp when I needed to find some flowers for a party the next day. I very specifically wanted white stargazer lilies where a number of the buds were already open, since I couldn't wait several days for them to bloom. When I went in to the shop, they were super helpful. They explained they didn't have a lot of already-open lilies but they checked their orders to see exactly how many they needed, and then they gave me the rest (which happened to be enough for what I needed). The second call to Candlelight was to get a nice bouquet for my boss's birthday, again with short notice (next day). I found one of the bouquets on their site and called to see if they could make it that afternoon. While on the phone, she checked their flower inventory, explained that they would have to sub white hydrangea for the pink/purple color in the photo, but that they could do it. I agreed and received a call back within the hour to tell me it was ready. The bouquet was GORGEOUS! I wish I would have taken a photo but alas, I didn't think of it. Nonetheless, the bottom line is that Candlelight Florist is awesome! I highly recommend them for any of your floral needs. read more

This place is amazing!! The ladies that run this shop are super friendly and really pay attention to what you ask for and are clearly dedicated to their craft. I bought these flowers for my wife's Birthday and they came out perfect. They added the jewels and the crystal hummingbird which made the arrangement look fancy and expensive, but were very fairly priced for the result. I found out that these ladies hand pick all their flowers fresh, which makes sense why the arrangement came out so well. I've had so many compliments from people on these flowers over the past few days, and extremely happy. In this day and age of technology, and with everyone doing 10,000 things and not paying attention, customer service seems to be non-existent across the board. As a busy Executive Assistant, it can be pretty challenging when working with vendors around town, and not being able to trust in service and attention to detail. Candlelight Florist is tucked away in Santee, in a slightly deceiving, not so glizty location. It's easy to miss. I could go on and on about how fabulous this place is. And it truly is! Lee and Lori are fabulous in more than a dozen ways. Do not be deceived by it's location or some of the not so satisfied posts. If you need flowers for any occasion, go here first. My boyfriend has ordered flowers for me many times over the past year from Candlelight Florist. The flowers (roses) have been beautiful and long lasting. When they have attempted delivery when I am not home they call to ask where they can securely place them. On Valentine's Day I was leaving town and my BF informed me that he ordered flowers and that I should call to let them know when I would be leaving so to not have them sitting outside for the weekend. They obviously don't know what the date is. My mom order flowers for my birthday because she lives in Europe and this is like the only thing she can get me since she is so far away, and they delivered them to me 3 weeks earlier!! Surprised ruined instantly. Flowers are pretty but the service sucks. Lady that delivered it sort of apologized but didn't say anything like, oh wait let me take it back and re-deliver fresh ones on the date I was supposed to since it will be your birthday..... These guys are a scam. Do not use them. Where do I begin? I ordered a flower arrangement via thier website to be delivered for Valentines Day. It came to $114 which is a little pricey but I was willing to pay a little more to support a local business and get a more personalized service. They called me a couple days later to say they would not be able to provide what I ordered due to a glitch in thier system. I wasn't going to be able to make alternate arrangements on short notice so I went with it and agreed to something different for that price. They assured me they would be able to deliver on Valentines Day. Needless to say come Valentines Day they were not delivered. When my wife called them that day they were very rude to her and hung up on her saying they would not be able to deliver that day. The arrangement didn't get delivered in the subsequent days either. Now no one is answering the phone despite calling multiple times on different days during thier posted business hours. They are not replying to my emails either. These guys scammed me out 114 bucks. read more

I am big on mom and pop shops. This is a great little florist with awesome arrangements that fit my needs. They have reasonable prices and deliver which is a plus. I am a fan. I am 100% pleased with the quality of work and excellent service. I had the worse experience with Just Flowers/ Heavenly Flowers and they made it 1000 times better. I am not in the area but wanted to send a sick person some beautiful cheery yellow roses and made a special request for fresh long stems not only did they wilt the next day but the only attempted to resolve the issue with a $5 credit...then I searched out Candlelight and boy we they able to redeem my efforts to make a sick person feel a little better. The arrangement was fresh and beautiful and the customer service was superb. I recommend them and will use them over and over again. read more

I received flowers from here on my birthday to my work and they were absolutely GORGEOUS! Everyone that came in had something great to say about them. I was so pleased with how they looked that I went online to purchase a same day order for someone else...only problem is I needed them delivered same day -- but within 4 hours before the person left work! Whoops!!! I called the store after I realized the rookie mistake, explained I needed to see if they could be there before 1pm and they were so friendly and made sure that it was taken care of and guaranteed they would be there on time. This company is great to work with, their product is SERIOUSLY amazing (not like proflowers or the like...and if you've ordered there then you KNOW what I'm talking about), and these bad boys last. It's been over a week and a half since I got my own flowers and they still look just as good as the day I got them. Will definitely be using them again! read more

How disappointing. My husband ordered beautiful valentines flowers for me! Apparently him and my son both had written a hand written note, which did not get delivered with the flowers. When my husband called to make sure they still had the note from my son, he was treated so rudely on the phone he had to hang up. I can't imagine the money my husband spent on these and to be treated that way it's completely unacceptable and unprofessional. Under new ownership ....in my opinion I received poor service, bad quality of flowers which were way over priced.

Decided to stop here on a whim to get a bouquet for a friend. They had a great ready-to-go selection of flowers available. I was able to point out the flowers and the relative size I wanted since none of the ready bouquets were white what I wanted. They gave me a price for what I wanted and ten minutes later I had a beautiful, unique, hand-crafted bouquet that was better than what I asked for. The customer service was excellent and I'll definitely keep them in mind for future flower needs. If looking for potted plants, his may not be the place for it but they had several interesting designs and vases to choose from if so desired. read more

Hello, It has taken me a while to write this review, but, here I am and here it goes. I would recommend Candlelight Florist to EVERYONE. Candlelight florist handled the flowers for my mother's funeral in April, 2012. What a BEAUTIFUL Job they did. The prices were very reasonable and staff was very kind and cheerful during that time. My mothers favorite flower was a pink rose. The casket spread of pink and white (very large) roses was spectacular. I didn't expect such large roses. The cross was very nice as well. All eleven of us kids had a red rose from the cross to place on our mothers casket. Again, great job, Candlelight Florist. read more

Want to say a big thank you for the beautiful table centerpieces I ordered for my husband's 70th surprise birthday party!!
