There are plenty of RV parks, but hotels, restaurants and grocery stores are few and far between. Our room at the Marina Inn and Suites was charming and spacious overlooking a field that was utilized as a lacrosse field from 8 am till 8 pm. Towels and hot water were all more than adequate; king bed was comfortable. Down on the first floor is the ice machine and a washer/dryer area. Dryer came in handy since it was raining most of the weekend of our stay. Staff are on duty until 8 pm most days. The building is close to the water and has adequate parking for this building. Out back was a marina and a restaurant which unfortunately had closed due to COVID last year. It was open for two dates, one of which we were staying at the inn and one at the end of the month. The bad news was there was no table availability. We were welcome to check out the bar and sit in the adirondack chairs but weather being what it was, we opted for other entertainment. The restored building next door was now a YMCA which was open for occupants of the Inn. We did not utilize this because unless you walk about a bit, you won't know it's the Y. In this area of buildings that have been restored, is another surprise - a pizza shop. Another review to come. If I go back to Lake Ontario, I am sure that the Inn and Suites will be on our list of places to see and stay at again.

We appreciated the effective and consistent AC during the little heat wave. I usually have a hard time sleeping through hotel noises (other visitors, fans turning on and off, elevators, etc...), but none of these things existed. The bed was perfectly comfortable, and the room was stocked with whatever we might need. The decor is dated, but with such a reasonable price (compared to other options) and so much else going for the inn, we'll happily accept some well used furniture and carpets. Also just to note for future travelers: The windows are quite small, so the view is minimal.

The location of this Inn was super close to restaurants and the Harbor(right in front of the Harbor), Sackets Harbor village is lovely also! I would definitely stay there again. Judy was wonderful managing our reservation and warmly greeted us when we arrived. I like the concept of boutique hotels but sometimes find they can be too cramped or stuffy, not the Harbor House Inn. It's intimate but rooms are spacious so you feel like you can breathe. The room was absolutely amazing, farmhouse chic with a splash of coastal aesthetic. The soaking tub was to die for! The bed was very comfy. All the staff were friendly. Our room had a partial view of the lake, was a welcome surprise. The hotel is right in the center of town, perfect walking location to the battlefield, shops and eateries. All we wanted was a night away from the little ones but Harbor House Inn delivered a sweet experience. Highly recommend and will definitely return. It was worth the money spent!

Bonnie the owner asked me to call before arriving. So at 2pm I called and left a voice message of our arrival at 5:00. When entering at 5, she stated no call was received, and the room was not ready so we left for dinner. When we came back, we were told there was no room key. After speaking with another quest they also had no way to lock their room. Then Bonnie stated the wash cloths could not be used to remove make up use only wipes only. (OK) Next day we stated the room did not have to be re-tided. When coming back the door was wide open.( Forgot to mention the shades are old and slightly torn. I had trouble keeping them up, so I tied the blind string together for privacy.) She txt me at dinner stating she entered the room, and I ripped the blinds from the frames and would be charged on my credit card!!!!!! That issue was resolved when the strings were untied. No apology was given. What a night mare. We left as soon as we could the next day before breakfast was served and went to a restaurant to eat instead of staying for breakfast. Would never again return to this place. Very strange. This is my first negative review every given for a B & B.

https://www.localsyr.com/news/local-news/point-peninsula-community-fears-proposed-limestone-mine/amp…read more POINT PENINSULA, N.Y. (WWTI) -- A proposed limestone mine has left a Lake Ontario community angry and fearful. J.E. Sheehan Contracting Corp., a company out of Potsdam, has submitted a permit for a 15.2-acre limestone mine in the Village of Point Peninsula. This project proposal was submitted to the Department of Environmental Conservation. Sheehan owns a campground and restaurant in Point Peninsula. However, residents who live in the village just learned of the project in mid-December. "They will be blasting and mining, they will be pulling stone out," Year-Round Resident Laney Hastings-Taylor explained. Hastings-Taylor has lived in the village for decades and has worked to educate neighbors about the proposed mine, which would be located off Jefferson County Route 57. Many people have rallied with Hastings-Taylor to voice why the mine does not belong in Point Peninsula. "There's one road in, one road out. We didn't buy to have this kind of traffic out here. People walk the roads, they bike. A little girl across the street roller skates," Year-Round Resident Jeannie Koster shared. "You can't have that with that kind of traffic." Aside from work within the mine, the contractor has shared that the mine would increase daily traffic to a minimum of 50 large trucks. "To me, this is a resort area, not, you know, not an industrial type area for mining," Gene Taylor, Laney's husband added. Site work has already been completed on Sheehan's 92.5-acre property, which Taylor explained, has destroyed ecosystems. Point Peninsula and surrounding areas are home to migratory birds, such as snowy owls, bald eagles, ospreys and waterfowl. Taylor also owns three AirBnb's in the village as well as the only you-pick berry farm in Jefferson County. She is worried that this mine will ruin the fragile balance. "People's wells will be contaminated. The runoff from the blasting from the mining, the water is going to go right down that hill and right into the lake," she expressed. "People come and they have a magical vacation because of this lake, because it's just so beautiful. And all those things will be impacted." The DEC is hosting a public comment period on this project. Comments will be accepted through Friday, December 22. Point Peninsula is located in the town of Three Mile Bay, in Jefferson County.
