It was huge, air conditioned, included lunch, beer, drinks and even breakfast. Our tour guide spoke perfect English and was great. They even had another guide who did the tour in Spanish. We loved our guide Fabian! He made us laugh and was very knowledgeable about the Mayan culture. We went to Chichén Itzá and also had another stop at a ancient Cenote. I highly recommend Xcaret for their tours!

First, we did the Chichen Itza experience, which brought you to a Mayan Village, a sink hole you can swim in and then to Chichen Itza to do a tour of the pyramids and such. Chichen Itza is about 2 1/2 hours from Cancun and it's nothing short of amazing! Our tour guide was funny and SUPER knowledgeable and it was an incredible experience. It's tough getting up that early in the morning but it's worth it...and every penny we paid to do this. The next thing we did was the Xcaret Park. This place is COOL! They have a bird area that's huge and you can get up close to the birds. They also have a butterfly area with the most beautiful butterflies that fly all around you. So cool! We also did the underground river, which allows you to swim in...well, an underground river. It was tons of fun. There's also a little beach area with sand and hammocks so you can relax and listen to the waves crash. They thought of everything at this place. It's really amazing and I highly recommend it. I'm not sure why this company has poor reviews...their prices are reasonable and the tours are awesome!

We were picked up from our resort right at 7 am and then we made our way to the Cancun Adventures office to wait for two other couples from other resorts. This ended up taking quite a bit of time, but thankfully there is a coffee shop next door where we got some caffeine and a snack. They did offer us cold bottled water and bananas on the bus (I would bring extra snacks because by the time we finished at the cenote I was starving and had to pay $6 for a small bag of chips at the cenote). The bus was pretty crowded with 12 people, and driving back into the jungle to the cenote was VERY bumpy. Be sure to take some dramamine if you get car sick! Omar was our guide and he was amazing. He told us about the area of Mexico we were in, and talked about the cenotes and what we could expect at each stop. Once we got to the cenote, we were offered a Mayan blessing, showered off, and headed into the cenote. They do not allow any photos or devices in the cenote. (They provide a locker for your stuff.) Once you get into the cenote they take your photos, which was kitschy and VERY expensive ($50 for one photo), but I get it's part of the tour. I absolutely loved the cenote experience itself - it was so cool to learn about and Omar's background in biology made it very informative. This part was about an hour, then you could shop a bit (they are pretty pushy but you can politely decline). Then we headed on to the snorkeling portion. I personally don't really love snorkeling, but it was fun to see the turtles! We saw about 4 or 5, but it was a bit chaotic with other groups everywhere. Then we headed to the beach club for lunch. This private beach was peaceful and the food was delicious. I personally loved the beef burrito. Mix the hibiscus and lemonade half and half for a tasty beverage. There are some areas to relax and changing rooms, so bring dry clothes to change into if you want. Pack a towel! Overall the tour took much longer than I was expecting, so be sure to plan for that if you have a dinner reservation or other evening plans. But I loved the experience and Omar was awesome.

We then headed to a different location to switch vans (for some reason). The first van ride was a terrible experience. The driver was absolutely awful at driving--and was paying no mind to the fact that it was heavily raining. He was flying over speed bumps and going around corners at dangerous speeds, especially since the conditions were so poor. Everyone in the van seemed very worried about his reckless driving throughout the ride. When we got to the next van, the roof was leaking all over our shoulders and clothing, which then collected in a puddle on the floor of the van. It also looked like it had been in some sort of front collision. The ride to Coba was awful, however the tour guide was fairly interactive which somewhat made up for the terrible van. The ruins were great, I only wish that we got to learn more about them from the tour guide. It felt like we mostly just biked around the whole time and occasionally hopped off to look at a ruin. We then went to the cenote, which was nice, and then lunch, which was fine. Afterward, we went to switch vans AGAIN (for some reason). This one, thankfully, was not leaking, though its windshield was nearly shattered. We made it back to the hotel fine, but are very disappointed with the tour overall.

Our group comprised of three families with adults, teens, and young children. It was all of our first times traveling to Cancun so I wanted to find a private tour for my large group. Booking with them through their website was easy and they were very quick to communicate via email. Leading up to the tour, we had some travel delays, but after updating Rod and their team of our situation, they were very accommodating. Kat was our guide and Pepe was our driver. Kat was informative during our guided walk of Chichen Itza and also accommodating of our last minute concerns and needs. Pepe was a great driver and got us to our destinations swiftly and safely. Marveling at the ruins at Chichen Itza and learning more about the history of Mayan culture and the way life might have been like at the time was very interesting. Kat took photos during our entire tour and later shared them via Google. A plus for our group as we LOVE photos. On our way to Cenote Samaal, we requested a stop for some fresh coconut water. They were quick to find a vendor on the side of the road. Pepe also got out and helped cut the coconuts for the 12 of us. Very impressed with his initiative and helpfulness. The coconuts were so refreshing after walking around in the sun at Chichen Itza! Admission, locker access, life jackets, and lunch were provided for us at Cenote Samaal. Everyone in our group enjoyed swimming in the cenote. The lunch buffet was a favorite among the adults in our group as we got to get a taste of Yucatan cuisine. There was something for everyone on this tour and I would highly recommend this company to anyone traveling to Cancun and wanting to get more than just a tour of Chichen Itza, but an experience of what the Yucatan area has to offer. We will definitely be touring with them again when we're back for our next Cancun adventure!

Long, but HONEST, review: I am so happy to have chosen to utilize Hola Weddings to support me in…read moreplanning my Mexico destination wedding!!! ‍ I had been working with an independent "destination wedding planner" (based in the US) who struggled to provide me with resort options and answers to many of my questions. I was doing a lot of the extra work myself, and I was googling a lot of questions (because after all - starting out on a destination wedding planning process can be REALLY confusing). I stumbled upon the Hola Weddings website and was using their "Resorts and Venues" tool to filter by many locations, types of resorts, price ranges, and wedding styles. It made my life super easy, as well as reading their "About Us" section made me feel that they were competent to work with. After scheduling a consultation, I was put to ease. I worked with Miriam for months to find the PERFECT venue. She was so sweet and helpful, and helped me find the exact style, location, and type of resort I was envisioning - also at a reasonable room rate. Something that I also LOVED was on their blog, they have multiple posts on top rated resorts, things to consider, and VIDEOS of the different locations. This was a game changer and really helped seal the deal for me when picking my resort. After booking with my resort (Secrets Playa Blanca Costa Mujeres...amazing), I was assigned Leticia (Lety) as my group manager - another super sweet, friendly, and helpful resource. She was the go-to person for any questions my guests had about their travel, room types, payments, etc - this was so so so nice. I just gave my guests her info and told them to reach out :) (brides, you don't want to have to worry about these questions!) If at any time Lety was out of office, my emails were responded to by another team member, to keep things moving. I appreciated feeling like I was ALWAYS been cared for, no matter who it was on their team! They are experts in their field, and their local relationships go a long way in helping to get you rates and RESPONSES back from the hotels (which can often be quite the challenge - especially when just starting out your search for a resort). Also, they know the areas and frequently do site visits - so they take videos and pictures of your resorts (or others) if you have questions about anything or want to see anything specific. We scheduled a catamaran excursion to Isla Mujeres through Hola's recommendations and had a wonderful trip! Additionally, Hola Weddings provided us, and our guests, private round trip airport transportation through their vendor Lomas Travel, and it was a wonderful experience. My husband and I's flight actually got quite delayed, but we never had any issues with our transportation being available after our late arrival. They also had the cutest arrival signs that all of our guests loved taking pictures with! I believe their team is compensated based on the number of referrals that they make and bookings with the hotels/excursions/vendors. Meaning - you don't pay Hola Weddings a dime (or at least none that I remember). They have "cash back refunds" and "referral bonuses", as well as special ammenities and gifts they provide you, if you book a certain number of rooms. It was actually super fun to have a nice little credit come back into my bank account AFTER the wedding (while all of the money that was going out of it at that time...IYKYK). I highly recommend their team to anyone. Actually, I did that already to one of my friends (not anticipating anything in return) and when they worked through HOLA, I got a random "referral credit" - it felt like another wedding gift! Overall, their team is wonderful, super hospitable, highly organized, has a great and very informative website, and helped make my life 100x easier!! Thank you Hola Weddings Team!! (Especially Lety & Miriam )

I actually first started working with someone from Destify, but the communication just wasn't there for me. I found this site from a simple Google search and as soon as I reached out, I heard back from someone and from there I was set. I first worked with Miriam, who helped me set up my site tours and help me figure out where I even wanted to go. She really help me focus in and figure out what I wanted to do. After I figured it out the resort I wanted to use she helped me with the communication with the resort, getting the contract signed, and even getting a room block set up, which I initially wasn't sure about, but I must say it was one of the best decisions we made during this planning process . So she was always there for some great advice. She then connected me to Leticia, who took the rest from there and help me with getting my website set up for my guests to book their rooms and get all the information about the wedding from. They put up the site so quickly and made it so easy and seamless for my guest to book or ask questions. Because everything was through email I always had tons of questions and they were always so quick to answer me and treat me like I was their only client because of how great their service was. Everyone at Hola Weddings , even if one of my planners was not in the office was always great about getting back to me and treating me with such kindness . When planning a wedding there's a lot of things that you may stress it out, but they make everything on their end so easy!! They sent out the travel information to us once everything was booked and getting close to the wedding and the service they used for our pick up and drop off was excellent at communication and getting us to and from the resort I couldn't have asked for better. Our guests constantly told us how easy it was to get questions answered throughout the whole process. All I can say is how genuinely grateful I am to them for all of their services and all of their help it made a world of difference in our process and our wedding !!
