Don't be discouraged by the road you turn onto off of Hwy 97 on to; this is SOOOO worth the short (1 block) bumpy ride! I was recommended to eat here by a local after a work trip to the area and I'm so happy I did! Great menu variety, clean & spacious restaurant, friendly staff, and the food is fresh, beautiful, & VERY tasty. This is the real deal - definitely not a franchise drive thru with "pre-packaged everything". #27 Parrillada Cancun Style...... This is a must try! Loved the verity of meats and it was delicious. Service was very good and I love to stop by when I am town and my wife wants good Mexican food. Ate here during my stay in Pleasanton, after a local recommended it to me. I'm so happy I ate here! I had the chicken enchiladas and they were so delicious! Their red chili is yummy and delivers a good amount of heat. Their homemade tortillas are crave worthy, and so are their house made chips and salsa. I loved every bite! If you're in the San Antonio area or in South Texas, definitely give this spot a try. It felt a bit off the beaten path and has a humble exterior- but their food packs a punch! Great find! read more

We both ordered a drink and started with tortilla chips. The mixed drinks were delicious and the food was hot, fresh and very tasty. Definitely worth the price. We went to eat dinner at Cancun Mexican Restaurant for our 36th anniversary. I usually don't like to eat at Mexican restaurants because I'm very picky about rice and really, anything that has to do with Mexican food, because I always think I can cook better. Anyway, I was very surprised on the authenticity. I actually liked everything I ate. I ordered beef fajitas because really, you can't go wrong cooking them. I loved the taste. I grew up in Texas and lived there the majority of life before moving to Wisconsin in 2011. Cancun Mexican Restaurant reminded me how much I miss really excellent Mexican /TexMex food. In Wisconsin there are some descent choices, but nothing compares with what I had at Cancun in Jourdanton. The cheese enchiladas (I had mine with verde sauce) were very flavorful and fresh. Beans and rice tasty. Portions were just right. The verde sauce I asked for was the best I've ever had. Tomatillo flavor rang though loud and clear with just the right amount of spice. The guacamole hit the mark as well. And the salsa was perfect, classic. Excellent meal all around. Service was top notch. read more

Carne Asada Gorditas are FABULOUS. I grew up in a Mexican-American household in Southern California. I was delighted to eat an excellent asada goridita at Cancun this weekend. The beans, rice, and tortilla chips were also fabulous! My teenage daughter ate every bit of the cheese enchiladas served to her as well. I thought it was pretty hilarious to drive down 97 and pass by the well lit "Mexican" restaurant on the highway only to pass it and make a right on a bumpy road to head towards the dark establishment called Cancun. We were with family that have lived in Pleasanton for many decades. They clearly know where the good food is! So, don't let the dark (but full) parking lot fool you. This place used to be one of our favorites until lately.. not enough staff, last 2 times we went inside, sat down and waited for like 15, 20 minutes and no one came to help. So we left . I don't think we'll comeback. read more

Great (big) little place off the highway. First time there and unfortunately probably my only as I was visiting my birth home that my parents least 45 years ago. Wonderful flavor. Large portions. Excellent homemade corn tortillas. I enjoyed a fajita kind of thing. Beef, onions, peppers all cooked perfectly with the right about of seasoning for me. Not to light or too spicy for my palate. Mother had caldo that invoked memories of her mother's caldo and grandmother agreed. If I get to come back to Jourdanton soon, I def will stop in again. Hopefully I will get to try the ceviche if I get to visit again. My grandmother ordered it and she is very picky so it must be good! read more
