Unfortunately we are extremely dissatisfied with the sealing job Canark did on our driveway. When we originally phoned to request a quote, the office told us that the quote included blowing, cleaning, and filling/repairing any existing cracks on the drive prior to applying the sealer. The tech, when he arrived, told us that the drive was in excellent condition and had clearly been well maintained, and no crack sealing was needed. He applied the sealant on the drive and the next day the sealant started to crack all over the drive. We contacted the office, and they replied the next day that they would have someone come to look at it. After repeated texts, emails and phone calls, eventually the same tech came around and said it was pre-existing cracks in the drive that had surfaced after the sealant had been applied, and nothing to do with the application of the sealant. He then stormed off and sat in his truck, leaving his assistant to talk to us before driving off. Now in our understanding, driveway sealing is supposed to seal the drive to prevent moisture from eroding the asphalt in winter. Hence our concern over the number of hairline cracks appearing all over the drive, which implies that the sealant has not sealed the drive properly at all. The cracks continue to grow in the surface of the sealant, not in the underlying drive. Rory told us he would come and take a look himself, asked about our availability, but did not turn up. They do not respond to our emails, texts or calls. They promise on their website, satisfaction guaranteed. We are not even slightly satisfied, and they could not care less. I contracted Canark to build interlock steps, retaining wall and a flower bed. This work was done at the end of June. Canark subcontracts out and the subcontractor who did the work was professional, courteous, and completed nice design and work within 3 days (very fast!). My issue is with the after-service because there is none. Some of the steps have blotchy discolouration and the same pattern persists despite washing and the many rains we have had. In addition, 3 of the steps became loose and I am concerned about it getting worse over the winter and becoming a hazard. I also asked whether the significant soil erosion that has occurred around the flower bed platform may cause cracks. I sent questions and pics to Canark at the beginning and end of August and received no reply. The pics I have attached of the steps showing the discolouration are taken a month apart, on July 29 and August 31. I reached them by phone in mid September and was informed they have asked their supplier but the person tried to say the steps were not like that to begin with which they were. I sent 2 more emails about it towards the end of September and again receive no reply and it is now mid October. This level of non-service is very disappointing. In fact, Canark only acted with speed (emailing and calling me) when they initially thought I had not fully paid my invoice which I had paid but they had poor record keeping. read more

Terrible employee. Driver came to work on my neighbour's laneway and he choose at first to partially block my laneway then totally blocked it after we asked him to move. Called City By-law and he was ordered to move his car for violating the Highway Traffic Act. CanArk Paving should fire this employee as he is a horrible representative of their company. read more

This is a very bad company. We experienced unprofessional behaviour and shoddy work. We paid good money for a driveway that has cracks, crumbling areas, indents from vehicles, and pooling. And this driveway is less than a year old! Finally, there is no after-service. Repeated attempts to contact the CanArk office have been met with silence. Our foundation needs replacing and CanArk refuses to do it. Our neighbours have been experiencing similar problems with their new CanArk driveways too. read more

Repaved asphalt driveway and rebuilt stone steps on time and on budget. The driveway and steps look great.

I had my driveway repaved by Canark in May 2019. The job was well done. This winter, I noticed a few small holes that appeared in the driveway, cause unknown. When the spring was here, I contacted Canark and made them aware lf the problem. After many exchanges, they came over and fixed the holes. They also provided me with a complimentary sealing of the entire driveway, which was a nice touch and professionnally executed. The cause of the holes in the driveway was never discovered for sure but it is fixed now to my satisfaction. The reason I do not give 5 stars to Canark is because the delays in responding to my requests for responses were too long and the time it took to finally get the repairs was much longer than expected. Improvement is needed in after-sales service and reaction time has to be improved. Besides that, the workmanship is great, the owners are friendly and they met my needs. read more
