What a delightful, peaceful place to relax, in the heart of Bruges. The hosts live in the house by the streetside through which you enter, and on the other side of the garden fronting the canal is a cottage divided into side by side guest suites. Ours is three stories (tight spiral stairs, not for the physically challenged). The lowest level is the bathroom and opens onto the canal, where there is a bench to sit and watch the ducks. The main, entry level has an enormous fireplace. After dinner we came back to light a fire, listen to music and sip our aperitifs. Upstairs is the enormous king bed where we slept like logs. The room has tea, coffee and a minifridge. We took breakfast in our room the first morning and were brought a fabulous feast that we had in front of a fresh fire: eggs sunny with bacon, meats and cheeses, croissants and bread and rolls with butter, preserves, honey, Nutella if you wish, tomatoes and cheese broiled onto wedges of bread, coffee, juice, yogurt, fruit, granola, oh my oh my oh my. This is just such a perfect B&B. read more
