I went to drop-in my car for a winter tire change. I was aware that it was a drop-in and they had appointments before they got to my car. The first guy was very helpful and Checked-in our car. He gave us updates during the day and around 7pm he told us they couldn't get it done that day but that it would be ready the next morning. I didn't received a single call all of next day, and when I called around 12pm asking if my car was ready for pick-up, I was simply told "No". I asked if I could get an estimate hour for pick-up which he said "I can't tell you". He was very rude and dismissive. I needed the car later that day for work so I went to pick it up without having the service done. When I entered the store with my partner, we asked if we had talked to the employee that was there (middle-age man), and he said "yes, that was me". My partner proceeded to ask if there was a reason for his rude behaviour to which he said "I was not rude, I just responded in a formal way". I told him that at least he could have told me an approximate time no just say that "I don't know". To which he proceeded to say "I said I can't tell you, not I don't know, don't put words on my mouth". My partner asked to talk to a manager and he said he was the manager, and a very good one at that. And proceeded to ask my partner if he was a manager. Which my partner actually is. His behaviour is unacceptable, unprofessional, and rude. I ended up taking my car and leaving the place. Would never recommend going there. read more

Service is horrible, we stood in the line up at the parts department for 15 minutes for a couple of things that were locked behind glass. The attendant served us we said we needed one more thing he said we had to get back in the lineup again. Why? That's ridiculous.! Needless to say we did not get back in the lineup and we handed him the thing that he took out for us. We went to Rona. There are never enough cashiers, this is the store Oshawa Wilson road North. DO NOT GO TO THIS LOCATION!!!!!! Wednesday I went to this location due to a flat tire/ slow leak in the rear passenger tire. (Not my first choice) I have wheel locks. So I made sure they had the wheel lock key. Before I left I asked what the cost would be if they could repair the tire. I was told $45.99 ( a little pricey, but I didn't have another option at the time) I left and they called to tell me they broke the wheel lock key! They did not tell me a price or anything, they didn't tell me it was before they got the tire off. I was thinking they had gotten the tire off and was asking if I want them to put another on. I said no. And to leave it off. I told my fiancé about it and he called to confirm what had happened and why. They apparently thought that I had given them permission to take ALL the wheel locks off. And when my fiancé was on the phone told them to stop. Because the price they told him was $129 per wheel lock!!!! Outrageous!! After they broke my wheel lock. I later got the call it was ready to be picked up. Went to pay and it was $192, big difference from the $45.99 I was thinking. Then told me that it was because they broke the lock key and was told to take all of them off. Which was incorrect!! And again they broke the key. They were claiming it was wear and tear... I've used the key a total of 10 times for seasonal tire changes. I guarantee they put the key on a gun and that's how it broke. Not the correct way to take it off. They told me it was $129 to that to take all the locks off. Which they didn't do because we were first told that was the cost pre wheel. They also said it was going to be that charged anyways because they broke the key getting the flat tire off. I did not know this or was told the cost. Long story short I had to pay. And No One could give myself or my fiance the same information. Everytime we called it was a different cost or it happened differently or was told something different. Frustrated beyond belief for something they broke! (We even called another location to check cost and they told us something different! ) They refused to return the cost of taking the locks off. Even though they were the reason since they broke the key! And said they would charge half if I wanted to take the other 2 off!! Crazy!! They broke something I wanted to charge me again. This is beyond poor customer service, unorganized, misleading, and expensive! I will not be going to this location and probably not others either, I don't have the time nor the money to be dealing with this. Classic case of go in for one thing come out with other things wrong. terrible place. never thought i would have to go in several times to get my resistor replaced. went in friday for my original appointment. parts didn't come in on time so i was told to pick it up and come back on monday. go back monday and the blower motor is replaced and resistor is defective. I am then told to come back wednesday for the resistor which i do. resistor is defective AGAIN! This store requires proof of purchase to return/replace a Mastercraft branded product. If get a gift from someone, better ask for the receipt as you will be SOL at this store. Matters not that the product is warranted for 3 years. The managers are rude, dismissive and blame the owner MICHAEL C. WRIGHT, for enforcement of the receipt policy. Also, they provide you no options for replacement or service w/o the receipt. Shop elsewhere guys. You have options. Don't reward these guys for poor service. read more

I went to return an outside Christmas decoration I had bought on Dec. 27th, which I noticed in small print after I got it home, that the bulbs were not replaceable. I thought that was not good and this was the 31st. It had not even been out of the box and was told that it could not be returned. There had been no sign posted that this would be a final sale and I had not been told this at the checkout, which a lot of businesses will do so that they make sure you know. I was told it was on the bottom of the bill, which when after beinggiven this information, I checked and it was there. I feel I should have been notified of this procedure before and am not at all impressed with this method. I left the article there, so maybe they will sell it again..who knows. But I am not impressed. No wonder, Walmart, Costco, Homesense, etc. which are American businesses, are doing so good. Their customer service is excellent,,have never had any issue returning anything there!!! From the looks of some of the other reviews, it looks like I am not the only one. read more

Came in to change 2 tires and rotate them Appt was at 1130 .watched from the waitting room for a good hour no one was working on my car while it was up on the hoist with me staring at it.At 1250 the guy came out to tell me I need bulbs on 2 of my front light changed ..first my husband changes our car bulbs but at 1250 and I said I had to be at my kids school at 2 and I was told to change the tires and rotate them once on the hoist would only take 40 minutes ..this is unacceptable you wasted my time did nothing for a good hour just to tell me you want to charge me to change my lights and give you trust when you have wasted over an hour of my time.Now your slowly starting to take my tires off..wth 2 hours to change 2 tires when it's been on the hoist all this time..never again read more

I've been using this location for 9 years strictly out of convenience because I live down the street. The store has progressively gotten worse. Staff at this store are miserable. I recently went into the store to return a large item. They had changed the layout of the store since my last visit causing me to miss the cutoff for the customer service area. I had to go around the turnstile. When I walked up to the customer service desk (with my wife and daughter) I immediately began getting questioned by the women behind the counter as to why I took the route I did. When I explained that the store layout changed and I wasn't used to it, she didn't seem to care. Also, good luck dealing with the manager at this store. She doesn't give a damn about the customers and is even more miserable than the customer service women. I've been dealing with an employee in the past and they have needed to get the manager for something and the employee let on that the manager isn't going to be much help. If you can avoid this location, do so. read more

I went in to get an oil change with synthetic oil. The auto service doesn't have synthetic oil in bulk so I had to buy it from the store section and bring it to their automotive section. I bought 8 liters needing only 5.5 liters. I would use the remaining oil to top up when needed. I picked the truck up and they didn't have the remaining oil. When home I called to ask about the remaining oil. I was advised the truck needed it. I checked the oil in the truck and it was overfull. Went back assuming they would take some of the oil out. The manager advised me the oil level was fine. The truck still runs fine but the worry was there knowing that something may happen to the engine. read more

We purchased several new light fixtures and NOMA LED bulbs from Canadian Tire. One of the boxes of bulbs were defective and I went to this location for an exchange. The "customer service representative" tried to search all my cards, month by month, in his computer system to find my purchase because I didn't have my receipt. He couldn't find it (could have been on my husband's card and not mine) so wouldn't exchange the bulbs. Worse customer service and I will not return to this location ever again. And btw, I went to the Bowmanville Canadian Tire location and she immediately said no problem and exchanged the bulbs. read more

Auto service experience only. Went in for a new tire as one of mine blew on the highway and I had to put on the spare. Shared the story with service advisor and asked if he would remove the spare and put it back in the trunk and then fix the replace the blown tire that was in the trunk. He came back 0 minutes later telling me I had one tire that was a different size than the others. I explained that it was my spare and yes, I was aware. Didn't matter, they put a new tire on the existing spare and threw out the spare (which had 70km's on it). Couldn't find it when I asked them to return it. So, they found an old snow tire out back and put it on my rim for a spare. Didn't tell me, just handed me the keys and said everything will be fine. 2.5 hours for the tire change even with an appointment made 2 days in advance. Quite the experience..... read more

My son and I love to explore and discover and bargain hunt in while we wait for work to be done on the car (which took Less time than I expected!) A couple minutes late for my appointment but service was Fast and Friendly! Thank you to Gill for booking us in right away when I phoned, and for your patience with myself and the kiddo while we waited only moments to be checked in despite not being on-time ourselves. Excellent customer service as well from Kelly at the desk, and the cashier too, as well as another cheerful female employee who was cutting keys at the check out. I love this store not in the least bit because of you amazing staff. Lots of fun stuff, always clearance items worth a gander and never can recall any issues with quality nor workmanship. Canadian Tire is a store I want to take my grandkids to, when they get their first bikes, like my own child, like when I was a child. That big red triangle is a part of us, and a part of Canada, hopefully here for my kids to take their kids' kids to. I miss the Christmas commercials tho guys, bring back the Scrooge commercials just the Scrooge ones even. If I could give this location no stars I would. Beyond the WORST customer service experience I have ever had. Particularly in the auto department. The staff are very miserable. If you don't like people, why work in customer service. Tina Patterson is very rude. A gentlemen was ahead of us in line and they had an altercation. We waited 15 minutes for her to finish serving him. When it was our turn another lady asked her where she checks her keys for service. Tina helped her without even giving us any acknowledgement. When I spoke up she was VERY hostile and said "well this lady has an appointment" we were purchasing a car battery. How are we supposed to make an appointment if we are doing it ourselves? What happened to a something as simple as a line up. The lady behind us also had an appointment and still managed to find the line. Tina got very loud and agressive and wouldn't serve us because we pointed out that is not how a business should be run. Thank God an employee named Brandi came over and happily helped us. read more

Worse experience and worse Canadian tire manager I have ever seen. On 13 to November I make an appointment with Canadian tire automotive section in order to do safety inspection for my vehicle. Later the mechanic called me and said that everything passed expect real coil springs. The price they offered me was high. I just paid the fee for the inspection and they advised me that I have 10 days to fix the vehicle and get your safety certificate. On 18 of Nov 2016 I fixed the vehicle and called for appointment. They told me that the mechanic will work on Saturday and bring the vehicle for final inspection. We brought the vehicle to Canadian tire and the Manager tools us that we can't sign the inspection certificate because the vehicle is not plated. I said that's why it's here for safety inspection in order for ministry to issue plate. He said no. Go to ministry and tell them to call me and here is my business card. I thought that they might have some sort of agreement with ministry. So I went to ministry waited on the line for almost one hour and they said we are not allowed to call this guy and it's not our job. This is the law and we can't issue you temporary sticker. So I had to come back to Canadian tire, waited for half an hour on the line to see this Mr. manager of automotive to tell him the satiation. He told me you should drive the vehicle and our mechanic will set on the back of the vehicle. If the police catch you, then you are responsible. This guy was really the most stupidest manager in Canadian tire, he advice me to do illegal drive. I ask him can I see the mechanic who did the inspection before, he kept refusing. Suddenly the mechanic came and found out what is going on here. He was such a excellent man, his name was Kevan. He said Mr, manager, there is nothing wrong with this vehicle and we can sign the certificate. Keven did his job in a very professional and reasonable way, there would be definitely 5 star for him. After, Keven finish his job, this an educated manager wrote the certificate, but by that time the ministry was closed and I had to wait until today. So I got another day off from my work to go to ministry and finish my vehicle plate. At the ministry they found that this guy wrote the VIN wrong on the certificate and they rejected. Oh my Got, I had to come back to this guy and still he was mean. It look to me that he wrote wrong on purpose or he doesn't know anything at the manager level. Apparently, he wrote another wrong certificate again and he ask help of another employee. This was completely wast of my money and my time here. I recommend for the top management to bring an experience manager who can provide great customer service and know his job well. People are paying money and want a good outcome. There is more story, I don't have time to write all of them. I wish for other customers good luck. read more
