I'm not sure why all the bad reviews. I had a wonderful experience, staff very friendly and was very helpful in finding what I needed. Found a specific lock I was looking for. Which was located in the camping and hunting department. Patio umbrella were on sale and I happen to need one. Critter ridder to keep cats out of my flower bed. There is a automotive department that I didn't have the opportunity to experience, seemed very busy there. -Store clean and organized -Staff friendly and helpful -plenty of parking Will be returning for my gardening needs. read more

FYI this location will not price match to ANY store whether it's a different retailer or another Canadian tire . Honestly , make the trip into Deerfoot city location they price match different retailers and Canadian tires. Plus they often have awesome clearance deals happening. It's worth the extra 15 mins drive . Honestly , it's the owner of the store who determines these things . They could choose to price check other stores even Canadian tire stores . I'd advise customers that it's different from store to store depending on what the owner feels like doing . I was quoted over $600 to have 2 daytime running lights bulbs changed out in a 2012 outlander. When I asked why so much I was told it was a 3 hour job! The "female" manager and assistant manager could dig down and discover their people skill set. You do not have to be rude to be effective. My daughter was stranded with a flat tire and a baby in car only place open was Canadian tire airdre.in order to get home they made her buy 4 new tires as they refused to sell a pair or repair her tire.so watch out females they will rip you off instead of help you. read more

Brutal experience. Needed a new steel rim for my civic for the back right tire. The man at the desk was insanely short and rude to me because I wasn't sure of my rim size. Once I booked the rim swap out I took my bag out of my car to keep with me since I had valuables in it and a crazy employee SCREAMED at me that I wasn't allowed in the store with my bag. Which was fine but the delivery was terrible and aggressive. To top off the entire experience the replaced THE WRONG f***ing rim which I didn't notice until I got back home to Calgary - I assumed the mechanics knew how to follow directions and how to do their job. Absolutely the worst service I have every received went for a routine tire swap to be told that will take 1 hr after waiting my 1hr only to find the same tires on my car Shocked I asked the guys what's going on he said the compressor is broken and he will inflate my old tires and I would have to come back 30 mins later my car is ready to go, only to have no apology for a complete waste of my time, So I go find my car only to have all my tire sensors telling me all my tires need air pressure so they didn't even fill my old tires again... I'm 64 years old, asked a staff member for assistance, she escorted me to customer service to take my backpack off and have it stored. Didn't see any signs or staff, on entering the store, to inform me of any such policy. I have no problem with cashiers inspecting my pack, when I exit the store, but this staff members behavior was ludicrous. Saw ladies shopping, carrying massive purses with open tops, but they were not subjected to the treatment, I was subjected to. Recently relocated to Airdrie, but this is my final visit to the Canadian tire store. I don't need this store, plenty of viable options in Airdrie, where customers are not treated like criminals. Returned my truck after 2 years to have the alignment done again...They booked it for 3:30 saying it only needs 45. I added 4 tires to be mounted and they booked that for 2:30. 6:pm came and they hadn't even gotten the tired done, and then proceeded to start the alignment. The mechanic came out refused to do an alignment. Citing it wasn't safe. BS, they did the last one 2 yrs prior and it was in my service records. Even when dropping it off I asked the manager "You"re sure you can do it" 3 times before handing the key. He replied "Yes" 3 times. They will say anything to get work... They blamed the delay on a sick mechanic. Why was this not communicated to me at 2:30 when dropping off the truck. Secondly, the person working the counter started laughing at me when I complained about the situation and explained the details, He called a manager and he too got a grin . I found the service substandard and the staff to be very disrespectful. I operate a business, You do not laugh at customers with legitimate concerns. And if you are aware of circumstances that will cause delays at the time the vehicle is dropped off, you communicate that to the customer then, not when they are waiting 3 hours after the original pick up time has passed. It is quite astonishing how many people must have been wronged or robbed on a corporate scale from their automotive service department. Charged $200 for an out of province inspection just to find out that the $3600 work they indicated needing to be done was actually only $200 at another garage. Also found out afterwards that their service manager was asked to transfer out of the Canmore store after public out cry about scrupulous business practices. This service department will suck your soul from you if you yawn in front of th. Unless you are willing to pay the extra money to see what they are trying to soak you for you will be charged for unnecessitatrd work or jacked up work. read more

Scammers, plain and simple. Got a quote for break job for a Jeep. Talked to a lady at service, she quoted $196 for front and same for back plus labour. Dropped the vehicle off, signed off on a $50 inspection, then a few hours later got the call that only the rears needed replaced. Few hours later, got the call to pick it up. $506 later, they explained to me AFTER they did the work that they don't turn rotors, they just put new ones on when they replace the pads. Funny thing because I've done break jobs myself and was able to find PLENTY of shops that can turn rotors and these things were still in excellent shape, still quite smooth........minus the dents the mechanics put in them after replacing them. Don't go to these floppers. One person will quote you something, a second person won't mention the details, the 3rd person will charge you an arm and a leg. Even the girl at the counter said many people get pissed off at the place for the lack of communication and details. Sad state of affairs when your own staff are there to back up the customers frustration with more facts. Nope, never again. read more

Took a battery in for a warranty replacement I had my receipts, cause it would not hold a charge. We tried 2 different chargers at home and both did not see a battery connected. So we got to crappy tire and they put a volt meter on it and said it needs to be charged which was different from our volt meter and charger. So we told the guy that once you charge it it will die soon after, so they said they can't give us a new battery until they check it. Putting us out cause we had to return an hour later, only to be told that they will not honour the warranty cause they got the battery to charge. So guess what got up this morning and my does not start. No surprise there. Customer service is horrible and Nick the manager in automotive department is very unprofessional and inconsiderate. When I was talking briefly with an employee, a crazed worker walked by yelling - because the woman let someone through with a bag. Saying "maybe if you were paying attention" blah blah blah . Not only was the woman I was talking to , embarrassed ... All the customers around were embarrassed for her . IN NO PLACE OF BUSINESS is it tolerable to yell at another coworker , especially in-front of a costumer. I was so disgusted in this woman's actions ... never will I ever go back to this Canadian tire . To make this even better , the woman was about 70 years old , acting like toddler . After she yelled at this poor woman , she walked back to the costumer service desk - very content with her actions . Nasty woman . On June 9th my 17 year old niece Danielle purchased my mother's 1999 Pontiac Grand Prix GT. When she went to insure it she was told because the car was more than 9 years old she would need to have an inspection completed and was given 30 days to do so. I invited her to come visit me to see my mechanic as I trusted him and wanted to make sure she was told the truth about any potential problems. On June 16th she made the 3 hour drive from Tofield, Alberta to Calgary and we paid a visit to my mechanic. Upon inspection of the vehicle it was discovered the tires were in horrible condition and I was asked to promise I would not allow Danielle to drive home with the tires she came with. Other than the tires my mechanic could find NO issues with this vehicle. In all the years my mother owned the car the only issue she had was with the cruise control not turning off and it was actually my mechanic who diagnosed and fixed that issue. He told me this was a great first car for Danielle and that it was very well taken care of. I mentioned that when I drove the car from Airdrie to Calgary the car pulled to the left and I thought it needed an alignment; my mechanic disagreed and said it was the poor condition of the tires causing this issue. Sunday morning we got up early and headed to the Airdrie location to get tires. It was the Service Manager Don who assisted us. I told him what tires we wanted, I asked for Nitrogen and agreed to the extended warranty he offered. It was at this time I mentioned the car pulling and asked for an alignment. Don advised me they would test her alignment to see if it was needed and would call us. Later that afternoon we received a call from the service department at which time we were advised that they REFUSED to complete an alignment as they found many issues with the vehicle and they insisted that work had to be completed before an alignment could be attempted. I was floored to hear the issues that this car supposedly had and even more blown away when I heard the quote of $2600. I was also told the repairs could not be completed for a few days, which was not in the plans as Danielle needed to be back home to write her final exams for school. I asked the gentleman on the phone to just install the tires and we would be in to pick up the car. I immediately called my mechanic in a panic as less than 24 hours prior he was telling me this car was great and now I was being told it was a ticking time bomb. He told me not to worry and to ensure no work was completed. We arrived 15 minutes before closing to pick up Danielle's car and by this time I decided she was not going to be driving the car home and I would be taking it to my mechanic to be looked over with a fine tooth comb. When we dropped her car off in Calgary I decided to look very closely at the invoice and the quote and I noticed that the nitrogen was not put in the tires and it said I declined the warranty, these are BOTH something I asked for. I then discovered a charge for $39.99 for a steering and suspension inspection, something I never asked for or agreed too. Then I went over the problems found with the car and found myself laughing at the list. I am not a mechanic but the supposed problems this car had seem farfetched. Especially the part about a MAJOR oil leak, if there was such a major leak my mother's drive way would have had a massive stain from the car sitting for over a year and the oil level wouldn't have been good when we checked it. When I explained this to Danielle she laughed and called you "Canadian Liar". I too could not help but laugh as I felt she was an extremely observant teenager to come up with that on her own. read more

Called about the 25% tire sale. First time checking on tires at this location and will be my last. First call, put on hold 15 minutes then someone picked up and hung up. Second call, no answer. Third call, explained to the lady who answered what happened, she rudely said well there is just one person working back there and just put me through again. Having read all the terrible reviews of this store I think it's fair to say that if you're going there to ask for help or assistance avoid it. On the other hand if you know what you're looking for and actually find it on your own then the store has a lot to offer. Cashiers and customer service have always been friendly. Canadian Tire in Airdrie, Alberta has the worst customer service of any Canadian Tire I have ever been in. This is store wide, staff is uneducated, knowledgeable and just could careless. I have ask for help and staff has gone to look for things and never come back. Says a lot about management and the lack of attention they show. It's no wonder that Home Depot and Lowes are so busy with their friendly staff and customer service and return policies. I had my car serviced at Canadian tire last week. It needed to have the rear brake drums machined, and it needed 4 new tires. When I arrived, they immediately started with the rear brakes, but then they didn't touch the car for over two hours, with me waiting in the waiting room, until after over two hours someone installed the 4 tires and I was given back my vehicle. It took them over 3 hours to complete the job (JUST machining two drums and 4 new tires!). Also, I found 2 charges on the bill that I was never quote by the lady over the phone, even though I specifically asked for a quote that would reflect the ENTIRE amount of money that would come out of my wallet. One charge was for "shop supplies" that I was never quoted: 21 bucks, and the other charge was for "Levy", whatever that means, which was 16 bucks. The entire time my car was being serviced I watched the "mechanics" through the window of the waiting room. They were the most unorganized people I've ever seen. They walk from one car to the other, talk a little, walk back to my car, do nothing, talk some more, walk to another car, point at something, walk to the front counter to help an inventory clerk, walk back to my car, unfasten 5 nuts on one wheel of my car, walk back to another car to unfasten ITS nuts, go back to the counter to help another store clerk, and so on. If I was a doctor I would prescribe them Ritalin; they can't focus on one thing for longer than a few seconds! read more

Worst experience.!! Went in to buy a dresser. Asked one of the employees to grab one from the back, since they had none out on the shelves. Took them about 45 minutes (not even exaggeration), to come to the front to tell us they could not find it. Time wasted !!! So we left. We came back the next day, as we said we would, and once again tried to find help to find the same dresser. Took half hour for someone to even come to our area to begin looking for it. Then it took another hour for them to bring k to us. Not overly thrilled with spending that much time sitting in a store! They need to either get more employees on shift. This Canadian Tire location is by far the worst I have ever been to. The staff here do not value their customers at all and are extremely careless. My car broke down and I needed to buy a new battery for it. I called the Parts and Services department ahead of time to ask whether or not they knew which battery I would need so that when I cabbed there I wouldn't get stuck not knowing exactly what battery I needed. The person on the phone not only lied and told me that there was only one battery for my car so I didn't have to worry about it, but he also failed to tell me that the battery would be 20$ cheaper if I brought in the old one. I cabbed all the way there only to get there and be told that there were in fact two different sizes of battery. The guy at the store was not apologetic in any way and extremely condescending. I therefore had to cab all the way back to where my car was parked and then cab back, wasting tons of time and money. Take your business to Walmart next time. I had my car booked in for a 3 pm appointment to get the two back tires replaced with new ones. Dropped the car off at 2:45 pm and was told it would be a hour. I came back around 3:30 pm and my car was still sitting in the parking lot untouched. It was after 4:15 pm before my tires were done and my brand new tires had rub marks along the sides of them. When I inquired how my brand new tires got damaged before I had even paid for them they denied it even when shown and I was told they were not damaged. The shop costs were outrageous too. Parents went there, today to get a tire fix, during a snowstorm I might add. Canadian Tire assured them they fixed the tire. They left on their way North on the No. 2, Endangering their lives. Well the Canadian Tire employee (I'm sure trained) overfilled the fixed tire and it blew at Wetaskiwin. Lucky they made it to another Crappy Tire only having been charged for a new one. I did some work on my car. Took it to this location to get the bolts torqued to spec. They didn't do anything. I was driving around for a week with finger tight bolts on my control arms. They charged me over 100 bucks to risk mine and my kids life. Went back and complained. They wanted to fix it for free so I let them. The mechanic didn't follow manufacture spec by torqueing while weight is on the wheel or use a torque wrench. And now my car is making the same noises again. Probably ruined the parts. read more

I've never had an autos experience at c-tire but then again NOBODY should ever go to a shop like that to get your car fixed. If it's needing repair go to a dealer or the shop off of Edmonton trail near the tire shop. Anyways the service is great is most departments. No real surprise here. Its unfortunate in today's world of competition that some employees are not trained in good customer service. I attempted to return an item, with receipt, that was purchased at another Canadian Tire store, and was refused my return. What is the sense of shopping at a chain if they are not going to honour each other's receipts? As a customer, I don't care if each store is individually owned, and I don't care if my purchase is a special item. I purchased it at a chain, and expected Canadian Tire customer service. So for my 80.00 return, I will travel into Calgary, get my money back and for the rest of my life, drive to the other end of Airdrie to shop at Home Depot. Sorry folks long vent lol but beware. This Location is definitely the worst CT I have visited and I have been to Canadian Tire stores in every province from north Sydney Cape Breton Island to Penticton BC. I showed up on a Sunday at 5:30PM (not realizing they close at 6 on Sundays). Gathered almost all I needed including over 300$ of what I didn't need in the exception for 6 Lag-bolts. On my way to the bolt isle this teenage girl is chasing me down. When I realized she was trying to get my attention I asked what she needed. She tells me we close at 6 on Sunday's. I said ok well I am just got to grab a pack of bolts 5 minutes max I know exactly where they are. She then tells me yeah well ya know it's 6:04 and we been closed for 4 minutes now, so I can guide you to the counter to pay for what you have and I could come back in the morning and get the rest of what I needed. So being a nice guy in front of a young lady, I just pushed the cart and started to walk out. The employee could not understand why I refused to buy the items I had gathered. May I add I was roughly 15 feet from the isle I needed? I swore I would not go back since I have had many issues with this particular location. But my addiction for tools and accessories got the best of me. I went back 2 or three days later in search of a work bench for my quad trailer. Found the one I wanted which was on sale and priced reduced over the sale item. Perfect is the thought right?? Wrong it took 3 different employees to try and track the bench for me. The third kid looks it up on the scanner and said oh we are all sold out and have been for a while it appears and since it is an ACTIVE item they can't sell me the display. So being an ACTIVE item on SALE I asked when the next shipment would be in. Oh well it was never put on order so we are not getting any oooops sorry. I can try and order them in and give you a Rain check. I said ok but when would you expect to get them in?oh no clue on that just keep checking in to pick up. So once again left my cart with stuff I didn't need and walked out. I thought I had learnt my lesson last year when I booked my wife's SUV to have the tires swapped from summer to winter. Told them I would come get the tires with my truck when we collected the explorer. I specifically told them to put seat condoms on and NOT put the tires in. The truck was brand new and had leather with suade inserts. I Got the bill and found it substantially more expensive then KAL TIRE and when I asked for the take offs I was told oh they are in the back. First I freaked out and was told oh we protected them. I went to my brand new explorer to find 2 tires in the hatch, 2 tires on the back seats with a plastic bag between each tires and dirty tire tracks all over my new seats. My wife got in the driver seat and found the greasy lug nut lock socket on the front passenger suade. Very bad location. read more

The Airdrie Canadian Tire has certainly left a bad taste in my mouth and though Canadian Tire was once one of my favourite stores...I will never be going back. I have had three horrible experiences at that same Canadian Tire. The staff are extremely rude and poorly trained. The first time, the woman at the till would not let me use a Canadian Tire gift card. The second time, I was unable to get the 4th "free" tire installed and the woman was EXTREMELY rude- explaining to us like we were 5 years old that it is not actually free like the flyer said and that they wouldn't do it anyways because they didn't even have a fourth tire on hand. The third time, I ordered a part and was GUARANTEED it would be in at a certain time before I had an appt. to have that part installed (elsewhere). On the day it was supposed to arrive- I spent 25 minutes on hold trying to find out where the part was. After talking to the parts guys, for no apparent reason they passed me off to another department who had nothing to do with parts. I had to leave a message for those same parts guys to call me back. I contacted Customer Relations and they wouldn't do anything and had no access to the warehouse. Finally, I was called back and said the part wouldn't arrive in time for my appt. Now I have to go elsewhere to buy the part for $65.00 more. I called the manager and he was also very rude. He wouldn't do anything to help the situation and was extremly defensive instead of listening to the concerns of the customer. He said that the staff should have known that they would have no deliveries on the date the part was supposed to come. Under such poor management, it is no wonder that nothing runs smoothly! read more
