It was my first time trying Costco's poutine. I came at 12:30pm on a weekday and there was a long…read moreline to get food. Unlike Cali, you can't purchase hot food items at the register along with your other Costco purchases. It took about 20 minutes to get my order. I really liked the crispness of the fries. It was a generous portion for $4.99. Unfortunately the cheese curds were cold and didn't melt. Gravy was alright. I would just get the fries alone next time

I find Costco's reputation to be overrated in general, but there are times when it pays you back…read morefor that paid membership. The main caveat when shopping here is that you need to know your price points. No matter what time of day, or day of the week you come here, it's a zoo. You'll need to be in physical condition to handle the jostling, and cart wrenching, around other shoppers, and some tight spaces and corners. I don't find food to be competitively priced for the most part. Again, you need to be familiar with price points for the name brands they carry. I can find Kraft peanut butter on sale at No Frills or the like for one regular sized container at a better per unit cost than the 2x2kg packages you have to buy at Costco. I find things like cleaning supplies and clothing to be better deals. They distribute a monthly flyer in my neighbourhood, so I can browse before deciding it's worth the trip. When it comes to seasonal items like lawn furniture, be prepared to snap up a good deal when you see it, because those tend to be one of shipments that don't get replenished. Same with some occasional specials like appliances. If you enjoy a fast food snack like at IKEA, they do have pizza slices, hot dogs, fries, and drinks for very cheap prices. I rarely can stand to stay one moment longer than I have to, so I can't speak to how they taste. My husband absolutely refuses to set foot in there on principle. His motto is, They should be applying for a membership with me for my business. Having said that, he wasn't above having me get a gift for myself there when it came to saving $500 on a Kenwood stand mixer. A deal is a deal! You just need to recognize them, as opposed to blindly believing that everything there is a good buy.

KFT (Korea Food Trading) is like a Korean Costco…read more They recently had their grand opening and have memberships for the public and businesses. During their grand opening promotions, there are free memberships for the first one thousand customers signing up, a reusable shopping bag for the first four hundred and fifty customers, or hand sanitizer for the first eight hundred and fifty customers. Regularly, a business membership is $50 per year. For regular customers, there are Gold ($20 per year) and Platinum ($50 per year) memberships, but I'm not sure what the difference between the two is. There's also a lucky draw. The first prize is a six-cup rice cooker for three winners; the second prize is a ten-kilogram bag of rice for thirty winners; and the third prize is a pack of toilet paper for fifty winners. Parking and the entrance are located at the back of the building. On the left side once entering the store, there are beverages such as coffee, tea, extracts (arrowroot, black garlic, onion, raspberry, plum), bottled water, pop, juice, gatorade, Milkis, coconut milks, and other drinks like pear, ginseng, herbal, plum, rice, and aloe. Rice, noodles (buckwheat, udon, naengmyeon, kalguksu, soba, rice, vermicelli, glass), cookies, snacks (Choco Pie, Pepero, shrimp crackers), seasonings, sauces, oils, vinegars, syrups, soybean paste, hot pepper paste, canned fish, and pancake and bread mix. The middle section is for freezers and refrigerators. These have products like rice cakes, dumplings, Korean corn dogs, seaweed rolls or tempura, ice cream mochi, Samanco 붕어싸만코 (red bean, green tea, strawberry, chocolate), Bungeo-ppang 붕어빵, Melona (melon, coconut, strawberry, banana, mango, purple yam flavours), Hotteok 호떡, pickled vegetables, banana milk, kimchi, udon, tofu, seafood, vegetables, and fruit. The other side of the store has over-the-counter medications like Tylenol and Advil, cleaning supplies, mixing bowls, toilet paper, takeout containers, and more. The checkout experience was friendly, quick, and efficient (with another employee packing up your items into a box).
