So, my suitemate and I were in dire need of a girls day out just to relax and recover from midterms, pointless assignments, and the drag of being a student. At the start of our excursion, I had predecided on a nail salon (the name has escaped me right now), and now that I think about it we should have just gone to the further one instead of settling for the first place we saw.
So, first of all, this place is owned by Koreans. This might be irrelevant to my experience but whatever. Generally I feel uncomfortable going to a Korean salon (because I am korean and my family owns nail salons) but usually if and when I do go to somewhere Korean my experience is not horrible. This place however, needs to step up their skills. Granted they are friendly and cheap, but when getting your nails done quality is also important.
They basically got the 'gist of it', carrying out the actions that are required for a mani-pedi, but not with any skill. The pedi was mediocre at best, but I let it go.
THE MANI was a totally different story. I will not sit there and watch someone draw the lines of my french manicure crooked! Especially when I'm paying extra AND I got the more expensive package. The polish was uneven, bubbly, bumpy, and like I said the french line was crooked. When I asked her to redo a couple I can tell she was exasperated.
WELL THEN, maybe you should do it right in the first place!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Also, I ended up paying around 40$ (including tip, and I paid tip twice because two different people serviced me) Which is probably the same price I would have paid at Yumi's (Which I love) My manicure barely lasted the next few days, so for the price I paid it was definitely not worth it.
I would suggest going elsewhere, even if you end up paying a little bit more. And I know for a fact there are places in the near area that do mani-pedis for around 20$. read more
