In a table of 3 fairly large adults we ordered 3 different sandwiches, two of us traded fries for a side salad the other had chips. So I took another look at the menu and watched other patrons. Too much food. Thanks for the generosity but less food could mean lower prices and more offerings. Even though some of their dishes are fancy, you don't really have to dress up. The server was prompt and very professional. We never had to wait for refills or for dirty plates to be taken away. We had 7 in our group and they had plenty of room to sit us next to the volleyball team. The menu had a large variety to choose from. We started off with appetizers. We had bacon and brussel sprouts and those were really good. The Pretzel with the cheese, crab cakes everything was delicious .- I totally forgot to take pictures before everyone dug in, So-only have three pictures from the middle of our meal. One person at our table, ordered the Cobb salad and there was plenty of blue cheese on it. It looked fresh and it was a huge portion. My husband got the walleye piccata, which looked really good. He finished it so it must've been tasty. I got the chicken marsala. The chicken was the right thickness, so there was enough of the marsala sauce for every bite. I had to take some home because we had appetizers before hand. We had crème Brulé, carrot, cake, and the peanut butter mousse cake, and everyone shared. The carrot cake was the best in my opinion. It was moist and I don't think they put raisins in theirs, becauseI didn't find any. I forgot to ask everybody else how the rest of the meal was but nobody complained.

Sam B's holds a special place in my heart. As someone who grew up in Bowling Green, it feels like…read moreit's been around forever, and while I know the ownership has changed over the years, the spirit is alive and well. The food is surprisingly dialed in, with high-quality ingredients and deep know-how in the kitchen. Surprising only because the atmosphere and service are a little rough around the edges. Things like chipped plates take a lot away from the otherwise expertly prepared food, and the urgent nature of the service detracts from a proper date night. That said, BG is a college town, and Main Street is the epicenter of drunkenness, so I imagine it would be difficult not to have things set up the way they are -- a place built for the pace of a college town, focused on high-quality but quick meals. And maybe I just need to come back in the summer, when the college kids are gone and the townies take over. But seriously, Sam B's is almost perfect. And somehow that actually does make it perfect, for what it is.

I've only been to the Downtown Perrysburg location but have been impressed every time. They have a good variety of beers on tap that they make including some rotating seasonal selections. I've stopped in a couple of times for a casual drink at the bar or to enjoy on their amazing summer patio area. They often have events like live music to enjoy so keep an eye out! This visit, I stopped in for brunch with friends. Their menu is smaller but has good variety and is priced well. I got the Biscuits & Gravy which had a handful of biscuits sauced in their house made gravy and topped with fluffy eggs. Delicious! My friend got the Chicken Salad Sliders which came with 3 pretzel bun sliders filled with yummy egg salad and a side option. He chose their chips which were tasty. My husband got the Chicken & Waffles. This was the most expensive but smallest portion. The sandwich itself was good and comes with a side but side options aren't listed on the menu. The entree was served on a large plate and simply looked small in size. Flavors were good but it left room for more food. Overall, this is a great, easy food and drink spot in Perrysburg. They offer their beers on tap but also some are canned for purchase in the to-go fridge.
