Sam The Concrete Man Tulsa - New concrete patio and pergola

South Tulsa

I'm really glad we chose to hire Sam The Concrete Man Tulsa for our concrete driveway repairs. In…read moreaddition to some serious cracking I had on my driveway, which had led to erosion and buckling, we also needed a concrete wall/gutter along the side of my driveway replaced. Monte came out and met with me. He was very personable. I was looking at Sam The Concrete Man and OKCrete, one of their top competitors in the area. I settled on Sam The Concrete Man because Monte impressed me and did a great job with the estimate, and because the bid came in at a fair price. The crew that did the job was led by Jose. At the end of the day-long project, they realized they had made a mistake regarding the leveling of the concrete. Immediately, on their own and without me even requesting it, they volunteered to tear up the concrete and re-pour it to fix the issue. Sure enough, the next day, they were back at my house tearing up the concrete they had just poured, and then they fixed the issue within one day. It turned out beautifully. They really took care of me, and made a big fan out of me. They lost a lot of money on this job because they had to tear the concrete they had poured out and re-pour it to fix the issue, but they never complained. They took accountability on their own--something many businesses would not have done. They resolved the issue, and treated me exceptionally well through the process. The end result was beautiful and very well-done. I highly recommend Sam The Concrete Man Tulsa--they showed through this job how much integrity they have! 5/5 Stars.

We are in the process of renovating my dad's old furniture refinishing shop, which had a gravel…read more(and grass) parking lot since the early 1970's. We struggled to choose between asphalt or concrete, but after chatting with Glenn from Sam The Concrete Man, the decision was clear and we couldn't be happier! From start to finish, the crew was absolutely exceptional. They clearly explained the entire process, went to great lengths to ensure proper drainage and prep, and even spent time walking through the plan with our building neighbor next door to ensure that everyone was happy. After 2 days of non-stop work, we now have an incredible parking lot that we will enjoy for decades to come. As both a homeowner and commercial building owner, I have had many negative or neutral experiences with contractors - I'm sure we all have! Not showing up when they promised that they would... bait-and-switch tactics, no attention to detail, etc. I can 100% assure you that a project experience with Sam The Concrete Man will be a breath of fresh air! The owner Glenn and his entire crew are always on time, communicative, detail-oriented, and good-hearted honest people that love delighting their customers. We're saving up for a new patio at our home, and when we're ready to make it happen, Sam the Concrete Man will be our first call.

Please be aware of the hostile owner at this business. They did a deck repair job for us, rushed…read moreit, had to come back twice for reworks (1) deck posts 11' above ground not secured properly, a safety concern (2) adding railing cap missed during railing replacement. Later we discovered rain downspouts damaged during replacement of headboard. They do hide shortcuts well. Having seen us dissatisfied in online review, owner Jake Turner scheduled a visit to look at the deck job. Surprisingly, he and another man showed up at our front door after 9PM (in the dark) demanding for an immediate chat 2 days before, saying because we sent SMS to the other owner Caleb that evening. Such intimidating behaviors raised more concerns over their unprofessionalism.

If you want "fly by the seat of your pants", then this is your company. After reading all of the…read morepositive reviews, we contacted Everything Outdoors of Tulsa for a quote on a front and back patio concrete project. Jake promptly responded to our call, stating he could come by and give a quote. A few days later, he was out to quote our project and we mentioned an outdoor kitchen in the future. He stated that they did kitchens and would also give a quote. We inquired about a timeline for the project and were given the response of "a few weeks." Upon receiving the quotes, we followed up via email in regards to everything we wanted, including detailed photos along with a plan to submit to our HOA. It was stated that Jake would rework the quote to our specifics, in which he did. This was in early August. We signed the contract on a Thursday and were told we would be given a start date early the following week, and that plans would be sent that night so we could submit them to our HOA. On Wednesday of the following week, we get a call from Caleb inquiring about the 10% down in which we paid. Again, no start date and no plans to submit to HOA. We were told Caleb was having lunch with his business partner, Jake, and that Jake would contact us for a start date. And during this time, Jake sent email stating Caleb would get payment. Over a week later and still no communication with Jake. We email him and message Caleb with a firm message stating that if they were too busy for our project and could not follow through with their full attention then we would just ask for a refund of what we have paid and go elsewhere. The next day we received a poster board from Jake with drawings of our patio concrete addition and pictures. We submitted it to our HOA and were approved. Our project did not start until Tuesday, Sept. 3rd. The front patio was completed in two days with Jake wanting the down payment for the day the subs arrived to work on it. The back patio was completed the following week. Upon partial completion of the back patio, Jake called and checked in with the project and stated "well I guess if you don't like it, well it's concrete". He also asked for money to pay the concrete guys. (Contract stated "10% down, 25% at beginning of project, and remainder when project completed".) The outdoor kitchen didn't start until Sept. 24 after Jake was contacted multiple times by us. He stated that Caleb did the outdoor kitchens and was out of town so he would come place cinderblocks. He also stated he would send an email with detailed plans/blue prints for outdoor kitchen. No plans were ever received. On Sept. 26, Caleb and two other men finished the cinderblocks. On this day, Caleb asked for $5000 for a "progress payment." We did pay these requests hoping this would be completed soon. Monday, Sept. 30, Caleb arrived to our house at 8am and a rock crew arrived shortly after. Come to find out, Caleb had told the rock crew this was a 2 day project and failed to tell them about rocking the 3 cedar posts on our back patio (which was in our quote). Thank goodness, the rock crew was phenomenal and does many outdoor kitchen projects/concrete patios, so they made things right for us. We are so lucky to have had this rock crew, and they already have had several in our neighborhood contact them for business. They worked from morning until 7 or 8 each evening. We would definitely refer them (I'll post a separate review for their business). During this week, Caleb once again contacted us only to ask for another $5000 payment. At this point, we were beyond upset. At no time had Everything Outdoors called to just see how things were going or even knocked on our door when they did show up to our home. We even told Jake when he wanted money again that we were not happy with the situation, and what was supposed to be a few week project turned into 6 weeks. He didn't seem to care. And now, finally upon project completion we have to seal the stone countertop ourselves. Completely unprofessional service. Don't know how they are still in business to be honest!
