I bought a used 2019 Coachman Clipper almost a year ago. The transaction had a few issues but we ironed them out and made the purchase. I was overall pleased with the camper and the new sales person they traded me off too. I was also pleased that extended repairs were made to fix water damage and a new bathroom fan was ordered after taking possession. Now almost a year later and the whole camper smells like an ashtray. I can't get the smell out and the shower is discoloring like it was painted over to cover up an eyesore. The water pump has also had to be replaced. Being all I could afford, a new RV was not an option, so I guess I'll just have to suck it up for the next 6 years while I finish paying for it. read more

I've been trying to find a replacement refrigerator for my class C RV. I called around to a couple of places but no one had just what I wanted. I was told by one of the other CampingWorld dealers that one of the biggest stores was just an hour away from me in Spartenburg, SC, so I called them. I was told that the sales person was busy but would get right back to me. Four hours and a half hours later still no return call, so I called again and left another message for him to call me, but no call. Next day, still nothing. This review is WAY overdue, but I've been utilizing the Service Department at the Spartanburg Camping World location for both extended warranty and out of warranty service for about 3 years The service that we've received has been exemplary from the service writers (Mike and Kevin) to the technician I've mostly dealt with (Bob). More importantly the Service Department Manager Ashley has bent over backwards to assist with tangible issues and sage advice for upgrades and maintenance. I honestly feel welcomed and appreciated whenever I call or email, but especially when I physically stop in. Cannot recommend them enough... Thanks guys! read more

Purchased a brand new trailer here and had a five dollar part failI and I am 50 miles away and ask that they ship me a replacement and they refused and said the trailer had to be brought in. They also installed an equalizer hitch on my vehicle. Come to find out after taking it to another dealer. It was totally set up wrong and was extremely unsafe. I complained about it the first day I picked it up and they told me it was probably just windy out. When I found out about the repairs, they told me I was out of warranty. Today our little camper took its first trip with us to the beach. It was everything promised at Camping World and more. Even though it was gently used they had given it a good look over which made for a carefree adventure. Maybe not as exciting as Steppenwolf's "Born to be Wild," but we were pumped "to get our motor runnin', heading out on the highway; looking for adventure, in whatever comes our way." Cool. Our salesperson, Daren Somero, was great stem to stern and even helped drill into the price before we arrived. Granted we were purchasing a small, two-year-old camper so not a lot of room to negotiate, and not as much commission to earn, either. Daren even took the extra effort of sending us a small video of the camper from his phone before we arrived. Nice. Overall, we are pleased with our camper, the sales experience, and the dealership. A service tech familiarized us to the camper answering all our questions adroitly. On standby in their large store was a shopping cart with our name and balloon tied to it, along with a consultant, to select necessary items (e.g., surge protector, leveling blocks, even proper toilet paper, etc.). A month later we drove back to Spartanburg and picked up more supplies to "take the world in a love embrace." Wild. I think, however, that Marcus Lemonis (of The Profit TV fame) might want to re-evaluate their after sales marketing. I prefer to option in (not out) of the somewhat overwhelming "offers" from their parent company, Good Sam Enterprises, which cost them one star in my rating. These folks worked in the dark on 9.27 & 28, 2024 to allow people to make purchases! They had generators and got more in. Because they had no lights, it was understandable they had to limit the number of people at one time in the store but the employees were kind and very considerate even though I'm sure their families and properties needed attention! Wow, what great people to put others' needs before their own. The manager of this location is to be commended for the job this store did but he didn't do it alone. People can say what they want about the service at camping world, but I've had nothing but good things to say. Brought it back because the radio came in and also during are trip, the slide out quit working. They took a look and found wires loose. They want ahead and fixed them along with checking everything out to make sure nothing else was damaged... They earned my gratitude and I'm a customer for life at this location!! read more

Overall we had a mixed experience. The camper supply and selection was excellent. The retail manager and staff were knowledgeable and very helpful. The service team did a nice job of getting our camper and tow vehicle ready to go. Our walk through was thorough. The rub was the slow sales process. We got there ready for the trade but folks weren't ready for us. We spent 4 hours there with 2 1/2 hours sitting around waiting for something to happen. I will say that our sales guy was nice and we did like the ease at which to look at the campers on site. The hotdogs and drinks were sweet. But on the business side is where it took it's turn. However I really feel like we got screwed over badly. We were told that the RV we were interested in was being sold for X amount. They dropped price and then advised we would need to put $6,000 cash down to get approved. They offered some upgrades and free gap Insurance and the deal was set. While in the finance office the finance representative told us that because we had sooooo much equity in our RV (almost $25,000) that the BANK said we didn't need it so that was wiped off the slate. It seemed a little off at the time but I did know or should I say thought that we had that amount of equity. Now 8 months later we are being told that our very large, very expensive RV is not even worth half of the amount they were selling it for. It's extremely frustrating to hear that ESPECIALLY since we one put $6000 of our own money into it and we now don't have gap insurance, so if something should happen to the RV now we are in big trouble. I understand sales. I understand that you offer this or that to get a deal BUT I would have gladly paid for the gap insurance IF it was more an issue that they weren't supposed to offer it for free because I just can't picture any bank, anywhere, saying not to add Gap Insurance on, especially if it wasn't coming out of our pocket or the banks. Didn't make much sense and yet I did think we had decent equity at the time so thought "Ok maybe, they are the professionals." So basically if something doesn't quite sit right. Ask more questions so you don't get flim flammed. Don't just assume because they are nice and offer great customer service on the retail side that you can trust the business side. Go to Camping World Asheville/Hendersonville Make a good deal with Tom Nail there! and I will explain exactly why 20 days ago I went to meet Tom(do not mix with the manager in Spartanburg) in Asheville and He was awesome, so patient, showed many RVs, took our credit scenario to the manager there and gave all information we need in a 2 hour talk, unfortunately this branch did not have a trailer that would fit or budget and/or our needs. Not enough he showed trailers on branches nearby, having that they may be able to move it and make a deal. The one we liked could not be moved and kindly he recommend us to go there, explain our conversation, take a look and move on in a deal with Spartanburg. Someone who spend 2 hours with you and give away a deal to someone because they think is the best deal for you, deserve appreciation! So go meet Tom Neil in Asheville/Hendersonville, it totally worth the longer drive. The day next we were so excited to go to Spartanburg, 2 hours drive from where we were. We called and I spoke to the manager Tom, told us to look for him or Jonathan. Arriving there, Tom (not the one in Asheville, please don't mix it up) got us to meet Michelle Phillips, who would take care of our deal. She was very friendly and kind, showed us the trailer, which we really liked, she makes us comments and recommendations, it was all good... until she saw the price on the unit and we got back to the office. Something changed, she spoke to the manager and came back very unfriendly, saying we needed a large down payment and it was a bad scenario. We knew that, we may not have the best credit but far away from bad either! We filled up the application and left. She said 2 days we would have an answer! 2 days after and nothing (Friday), Monday I txt her, in a rude txt she says she is off and she doesn't know anything about it. Tuesday we don't hear from her, at the end of the day she says it on the bank and need some specific info on the trailer (???) so no answer yet. I txt her the next couples days and no answer, so 1 week later I call her and expressed that we were very frustrated that nobody would talk what is going on, it has been a week with no answer and each we call we get this bad attitude from her. She said she was sorry and that wont happen again, that our credit was a very specific case and is up to the bank to give us an answer. I told her that was unacceptable, if the problem was down payment we would put more money in, if the problem was interest rate that we would accept a higher one and finally if it was a decline, just tell us!! So here is the reason why you shouldn't go to Camping World Spartanburg It has been 20 days since the first talk to Michelle, it has been almost 2 weeks and no answer from the dealer At this point I imagine that any manager would follow up on the deal, Tom (Spartanburg) and Jonathan did not show up neither My credit and my wife's have a hard pull on it! Not just it decreased few points on the reports of each one of us, it is permanently showing that we apply for credit and didn't get the deal (not for bad credit, but for the dealer being neglected) if we try again in a new dealer. Called multiple times trying to get the service department to schedule an appointment and NEVER got a call back. Steve in the finance department really went out of his way to get us the very best deal he could on our new RV! I've never had such a great experience buying anything that required financing. We were never pressured by any of the usual tactics that dealerships like to pull. "Oh we have another couple interested in this rv, you should really give us a deposit now to hold it". Nor were we ever pressured into buying more than we needed or wanted. Keith our salesperson was amazing! He knows his facts and when we did manage to stump him he quickly found the information we needed. Probably the sweetest salesperson I've ever encountered! Both made sure we were comfortable with every step of the process! Neither dropped their great attitude even as the afternoon got longer and closing time came closer!!!!! Home run for both of them!!!!! On a side note it was a blazing hot day and they had all the cold water we needed!!! I purchased a $160,000 RV from Camping World in March 2020. Camping World is not responsible for the volume of warranty claims we've had to execute with Holiday Rambler, but the Spartanburg Camping World service department is incredibly overwhelmed and communication back to the customer is non-existent. In the 18 months of ownership, the Spartanburg service department has had my RV for 6 months in two different appointments (its still there). In the two appointments, I've had to take action with the manufacturer to get my warranty honored. I cannot get a call back from this team. I have to drive the 60 miles to their store to look them in the eye, just to be told they are waiting on parts or call back from warranty items. Today is November 9, they have had my RV since my appointment date of September 11. I am sick of this and would warn anyone against ever purchasing an RV....consider VRBO...it'll be less headache and certainly less expensive. Even a $160,000 RV is still a trailer with lots of flashy stuff that breaks really easy. The locals at Spartanburg are nice people, overwhelmed likely. However, there doesn't seem to be any management. I get the same thing when I show up to get answers..."I'm sorry, we are all backed up and cannot keep people on staff". So far, I've had to claim electric bunk (Happyjack), porch light, front grill broken by wind, windshield wiper motors failure in rainstorm, generator shuts down in high temperatures while running air conditioning, blown high current buss fuzes, busted electric awning structure, and many other things I've fixed included cheap trim that falls off due to flexing of the vehicle in travel. I've owned many RV's, but this experience is the worse than I could ever have imagined. I would not do this again if given the opportunity to start over. For a business the size of Camping World, they don't seem to care about the customer once the sale is complete. Maybe send some of the salesmen into the service department to help! read more

"Dave" in finance does not respond, does not return calls and since July 14th STILL has not filed the necessary paperwork to get my money refunded. our experience with Camping World of Concord has been one of great regret.After bringing our fifth wheel in for repair and waiting 30 days and finding out it was damaged during its stay we decided to trade up and purchased a brand new 2023. A few days later we went to pick it up and found the stairs on our new Cougar were bent so we had them replaced which my husband assisted with. We did a walk through and it appeared things were working and although TV turned on there was no way to check for internet connection. The AC when turned on made noise and blew some air, it was then turned off and we moved on to other checkpoints. one week later we left for our preplanned trip to Alabama to visit relatives only to find the TV did not work the AC blew only warm air ( it was 89 degrees in camper our entire 5 days in Alabama) luckily we had a fan to use, the shower leaked in corner, and the door that was stiff upon closing did not lock from the inside. Needless to say we were not happy campers. We returned called them ,got an appointment delivered it for repairs on Oct 30,2023 and it is still not ready for pickup as door they had to replace is not working properly. We have made calls and trips in too many times to count, along with emails to Jeff Boudreau Service Mgr., Bobby Dixon - Gen'l Mgr.Camping World with minimal communication and Manufacturer -Keystone ,noting we would like a replacement since we paid for a brand new one and got a second hand unit, -they in no way will admit they sold us a camper with these issues ,and forget about Marcus Lemonis the CEO of Camping World who says if your not happy I'm not happy-does not answer emails . We are aware that after closer examination of the contract Camping World is not responsible MANUFACTURER - KEYSTONE is as it is under warranty however the loss of use and paying monthly insurance, replacement/repair-dragging on and having to constantly call has been very stressful not to mention beyond belief that this business has duped us and many others and has no interest in customer satisfaction. We should not have received unknowingly a damaged, defective camper when we paid for a brand new one and then told to wait for months for parts and repairs. read more

We had the worst experience here today! My husband and I drove an hour to look at a used camper. From the start our sales lady Lori was less than ideal. She didn't act interested in even showing us the camper. She let us know while walking to see it that if we didn't have cash up front to put down that would be an issue. 20% down for used and 10% for a new one. (Which was not a problem for us) We liked the camper and sat down for numbers and they came down a WHOLE $200. This place is a joke. We have a perfect credit score and they still wanted 8% interest. They are out of their minds. They probably paid $13k for that camper and had it marked for $22k for a 2016 and wouldn't come down. We will GLADLY take our business else where! read more

This experience has been THE WORST! Staff knew I was coming to purchase this RV a week in advance. Told them I'd be there 1st thing in the morning. Arrive about an hour after they opened and was told they wanted to "clean the unit up" before I seen it for the 1st time. Several hrs later they said they were repairing some things. They didnt let me see the unit until almost closing time. I purchased the unit and pulled away. The rear view mirror broke off while I adjusted it as I was leaving the parking lot. When I pulled over the salesman Mike, called to ask if everything was alright. When I explained he said they would take care of it. On the ride home I discovered that after ONE MINUTE of turning the radio on...the buttons become unresponsive (rode home 8hrs in silence)! Two days later the coach wouldn't start. To this day most days (3 and 4 times a day), it will have you waiting between 30min and THREE HOURS before it will start (twice I had to wait 3 hrs)! The awning let itself out while DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY AT 70MPH! (tearing apart and thrown all over the highway.....IN TRAFFIC)! After JUST purchasing the unit I had to put $1,500 into the brakes JUST SO IT CAN PASS VIRGINIA INSPECTION! Now the generator has gone out, the retractable sewer hose will not retract, and at times I can STILL hear that awning motor coming on. I've taken 6 days off from work since I purchased this unit in attempt to repair these issues....and I've had it less than 2 months! This is a straight lemon! And campers world isn't trying to make this right! Worst experience EVER!! I've spoken to Mike (my saleman), Tom (Manager), and Jaina.....and I'm VERY UNHAPPY with this unit. The first time we had to delay the process entirely because of a paperwork mix up, came back a second time and was there for FOUR hours waiting on yet another paperwork issue, came back today to pick up our new camper and have now been waiting almost 2 hours. We were searching for weeks for a camper. We are first time buyers. We had found a unit we liked and called to view it. We were told things and figured it would not work so we decided not to drive down to look at it. They then proceeded to call us 3 times telling us the information was wrong and to come in a view it. They set up a appointment. We drove down from Georgia that next morning as soon as we walked in a lady came to us and asked what we were looking at, she did not even ask questions about our price range or monthly payments. Just as if she did not even want to help us because we were young. She took us to 1 unit and told us it wasn't going to work. She was very rude. We felt as if they did not want to work with us just because we were young and first time buyers. We had been to two other camping worlds and every time we were told things differently. Next visit for service was Nov, 2020. More of the same issues. Took the camper in for warrantee work; left it there. No updates to timeline and can't reach anyone in service. The receptionist(s) who answer the phones don't even know who is working in service on any given day. Service is not getting the emails that the receptionist says they are sending. Now have to go drive about an 1.5 to just go down there so we can talk to someone and get a status. DO NOT buy from camping world unless you don't need to service there. They will respond to this review with a generic response which will not resolve anything. Service area appears to be very understaffed and their business model does not work. read more

Camping World is right off John Dodd Rd and is known for it's huge selection of RVs. But did you know they also are the used vehicle buyers 1-800 Car Cash? I didn't until I looked this company up on the Internet. Saw the episode about this company on CNBC's The Profit a couple of months ago and immediately thought of them when I wanted to sell my Toyota Tundra. I had gone to CarMax first and was okay with their offer but decided to also give Car Cash a shot too since they're just starting up in the used wholesale vehicle market. They gave me a very good price and we decided to go with them. The GM was delightful to work with, zero pressure to sell, the quote was given quickly, there was no haggling or making us feel like we had taken very poor care of our vehicle when we hadn't, nothing but an all around pleasant experience from introduction to the final thank you's. No signage or anything at this location but they are indeed open for business. Please consider these folks BEFORE you simply trade your vehicle in. We would have gotten a lot less from the dealership nor did it require us to be master negotiators to get a fair price for our Tundra. It was no harder or longer to get a fair appraisal and a check from these folks than it was to have a dealership do the same appraisal and rip us off for a grand or two more on the deal. Honestly, Car Cash made it simle, fast, and down right enjoyable to sell my vehicle. That's a first for us! read more

I called the service department and they said they would not replace the board without bringing the RV in. they don't have an opening for 2 weeks. this is not the first time I have been treated like this from them. we live in our Montana high country 379rd camper. My husband and I are from NJ and we were camping for the week when our entire trailer lost power. We called the service department and they told us to bring it in and they would try their best to look at it. When we arrived, they immediately started to look at the trailer.
