Overall abysmal experience. Found an online price for an RV that I wanted. After I talked with the salesman about buying it, he sent an "out the door" price sheet and the additional fees added about $4000 to the price, plus tax on top of those fees, making it an average deal and one that I would not drive several hours to obtain. After a lot of negotiating and having to prove I had a quote from a nearby dealer for a similar price, they finally agreed to discount the RV price to get it back down to approximately the advertised price. They wanted to sell me a weight distributing hitch and installation for $1199. I bought the hitch alone for about $650 and did the 20 min set up (installation) myself. To set the hitch up, I need to know the height of the RV hitch point. It took over a week to get that information. In the meantime, they kept asking me how high my truck hitch was. I tried multiple times to explain that I could adjust the ball height on my truck and that I need the RV hitch height to set it up properly. Anyone remotely familiar with towing an RV should have understood this question and been able to answer it after a very simple measurement. The time it took to get the information leads me to believe none of the people I talked with, including the parts manager, have any clue about towing an RV. Just before arriving at the dealership for delivery, I got a text that my salesman would not be there, but he had arranged for someone else to assist. The dealership didn't seem to have that information, but after 30 min or so, they did provide tech to do a walkthrough. He was the only shining light in this dealership, doing a very nice job of walking us through the RV. Paperwork was crazy, primarily trying to sell us extended warranties, but not being very clear on how much they cost. Always trying to hide the actual additional cost. They also wanted me to sign several forms, including more than one power of attorney, without being able to clearly explain why. At one point, his answer to why they needed multiple powers of attorney was "you're just going to have to trust me. We're a multi billion dollar corporation." My response was that he had not earned my trust. The young man, got tired of my questions that he couldn't answer and finally left the room, saying he would get someone else to help us. After 15-20 minutes, waiting, I was ready to leave the whole thing behind, but I told the receptionist that they needed to get someone out to talk with me or I was walking. A higher level finance person came to assist at that point and finalized the paperwork. She was rational and able to explain what they needed signed and why. When done signing the papers, I went to connect the RV to my truck and found one of the upper marker lights was not working. I reported this and they sent the same tech who had done the walk through out to fix it. While he was fixing it, I asked about a Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) that I thought was supposed to be on the RV. He told me there was an app that I would need to download to read the TPMS. After arriving home and going through the limited manuals that are provided,I found that they should have given me a TPMS monitor, but did not. I immediately contacted the sales rep who said he would talk with the Rockwood rep. After another week of back and forth, including a final email to everyone who's email I could find, I got a response from Rockwood that they would send me the monitor, which i finally did receive the following week. All in all, I am happy with the Rockwood Mini Lite I bought, but if I had it to do again, I would buy it from somewhere else, even if I had to pay a bit more. read more

Not only will I never buy another travel trailer from this location, but I will absolutely do all that is necessary to make sure others are aware of what they are getting in to when purchasing a unit from this location. I drove 8 hours from Daytona Beach, Florida to Anniston to purchase a used Cherokee Wolf Pup. I felt confident in doing so from a reputable dealer that assured that all areas of operation have been inspected and the unit is ready for sale. ..so here is what was either checked or looked over, or completely neglected and signed off on anyway. 1. My unit is eating batteries. They said that they put a brand new battery in the unit, and over one night parked at home, the voltage read 10.8v and wouldn't hold a charge from solar. Maybe they threw a battery in the same day I bought it and let it ride. When I called (three days after purchasing), I was told verbatim "this is why we ask you multiple times to buy an extended warranty" Hey. I get it... but I have owned this unit for 72 hours and this is why PDI exists in most reputable dealers. 2. The freezer/refrigerator fan had to be replaced within a week of ownership. I did it on my own (which is fine), however; again, why was this not a part of a PDI quality check? 3. Tire blew out on the way home (which happens, I get it) - only I was assured of a tire quality check when I asked before I drove 8 hours to buy the unit, and I realized the unit had mismatched tires, and the one that blew must have been the original tire. 4. Before I installed the brand new tires I've had mounted, I went to lube the bearings and found that the axle had been replaced in 2024 at the Anniston location. That's fine. A new axle isn't a red flag.. only (see photos) the trailer brake wiring job that they did is considerably dangerous and that absolutely should not have passed QA standards literally anywhere. I have a mobile mechanic coming out to fix this issue ASAP. No wonder I have a "trailer brake wiring fault" message on my vehicle when towing and trailer brakes are non-existent. Again... HOW did this pass inspection. Long story short: They don't want to help. I'm paying less to fix the issues than I would have on an extended warranty from them (which you can do the research on their warranty program and you'll see why I passed) - I should have bought the (most likely) safer and properly inspected unit that I had my eyes on from another location. The Anniston dealership has many qualities that potential owners would find endearing.. quality of units sold is something that needs to be taken in consideration and, if you do choose them, I would encourage a thorough look into the typical trouble points of a used RV before buying from them. read more

I told the salesman that I wasn't in the market just yet but would be in the next 6-12 months and wanted to look around. he did fine showing me the campers and stuff. THEN it all went downhill. he trapped me into his table talk and I was very adamant that I wasn't a serious buyer and then he kept pushing for my financial info. I didn't want to be any more rude than I had to be and that cost me an hour of my time. after I left, I got multriple emails, texts and calls. I'd block the number and they would just reach out from a new number. I had to call speak to the manager to get them to leave me alone. I've waited 4 months to post this just to make sure I wasn't over reacting. what a terrible experience read more

Avoid Camping World. Worst RV buying experience I've ever had. I bought a "used" RV with 500 miles on it from Camping World for a cross-country move from Alabama to Idaho--with four animals and my sister onboard. Sales process? Smooth. But once I drove off the lot, the problems started: * Water heater didn't work (gas or electric) * Generator wouldn't start = no A/C * Missing parts, broken cabinet glides, dead outlets I called Camping World immediately. Got a half-hearted "we'll look into it." No solutions. No accountability. Halfway through the trip, I found out most of the issues weren't even covered under warranty. When I got to Idaho? I was told I'd have to drive across the entire state to fix the generator and go to a Chevrolet dealer for the outlets. Seriously? If my mechanic told me to go to three places to fix one vehicle, they'd lose my business forever. Same goes here. Camping World: you sold me a broken RV and left me stranded--literally. We were traveling from Sacramento, CA, to Statesboro, GA, when one of our RV slides broke. After calling the Anniston, AL, store, I spoke with Zack, who was incredibly helpful and professional. He assisted us in ordering the necessary part from the manufacturer and even arranged for it to be sent overnight directly to the shop. Zack got us on the schedule right away, and the team made the repairs quickly and efficiently. I was beyond pleased with their service and attention to detail. My Wife and I bought a travel trailer from a couple who had bought this travel a year before from Camping World in Anniston AL. For health reasons they sold it to us. Supposedly still under warranty. We stopped by after with just a question. We were led around and had to stand in line only to humiliated by a young no nothing service representative. She even snickered. She was only interested in the sales. Not after sales service or just a question. They humiliated us. Made us feel unimportant. I thought my wife was going to cry. I was interested in a few other other camper items and realized that camping world is 20% or more overpriced. That said. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE. No help and THEY DO NOT CARE! read more

Just know if you say buy a camper cover online ...the box that they ship it to you in is a one time deal...once you get it out it's like impossible to get back in and the fabulous Walnart of camper stores after you spend your money with them turns you away and won't do a refund for you for nothing..they say if it don't fit they can't resale it ...but they can mark it down or ship it back themselves since it's them that you bought it from but instead they want to treat the consumer like crap and won't do anything as far as taking it back except basically tell you for you to go out and maybe find you a bigger box and then deal with the headache of going through with it another way. ...jerks ...I will definitely check out smaller camper places to see if they are more consumer friendly at returns before buying from them again. read more

However, we were very surprised and delighted with our experience. We ended up purchasing a new trailer January 15, 2025 and EVERYONE at that dealership with whom we dealt was absolutely topnotch. If I could leave 0 stars I would. As someone who lives TWO HOURS away, I approached a trade & purchase inquiry via telephone call this morning at 10 am. I spoke with Michelle who was helpful - and the only reason I'm reporting any stars - in referring my call to a sales rep Freddy. After getting our information for the trade and our desired purchase, he informed me that he would call me back in 30 minutes. Needless to say that did not happen and I had to call to follow up three times over the course of 8 hours. I was repeatedly told that there were customers in the building so they took priority. I also spoke with Alexa and a sales manager. We received an insulting trade offer and pushy practices to get us to run a credit application, with no intention of negotiating from the CW team. If you're looking to purchase from here don't even bother calling, you won't be considered a customer unless you're staring them in the face. If the CW team is struggling with sales, I wouldn't be surprised since this is how they treat prospective buyers. read more

DON'T DO IT! SHOP and do BUSINESS ELSEWHER! We recently took our camper in to have the floor on the kitchen slide inspected for a leak. From the moment Ashley walked out to the time we picked our camper up, she was rude, unprofessional, and just down right disrespectful. When it came time for us to pick-up our camper, Ashley made us an appt time and date to do so. However, when asked to pick up our camper at a different time, she refused to sway from the time and date given- saying she didn't have anyone to pull our camper out of the shop (even though it had been there for several weeks and we all know it wasn't left inside taking up a bay). My husband just happen to be in the area working the day before our appointment time Ashely had set in stone for pick-up, so called to see if he could just swing by and grab the camper versus having to drive 2 hours back the next morning. Ashley again made it very difficult to have a conversation and refused to allow my husband to stop in and pick-up our camper... that was until he said he'd never do business there again, to which she agreed she's the. allow him to come. Once he arrived at the shop, Ashely had nothing to say to him since she was so upset that she had to take the time to deal with the him coming in a day before his scheduled time. Unfortunately, this seems to be a common occurrence when dealing with these folks, so a word to the wise, find another dealership to buy from or to work on repairs. The general Manager, Travis Porter, called after we reached out requesting a call back. Bought an RV in August 2022. we took photos of the unit In their parking lot when we bought it. When we got home with the unit we discovered a wheel (metal part) had a manufacturing defect and was constantly leaking air.. the dealership had to know this because the tire would go flat in 5 hours. Warrant (the people at sandpiper headquarter) sent us a replacement tire. Then when we were doing the quarterly inspection of the roof of the RV we found it was damaged. We went back and looked at the photos taken the day we bought it and we saw the damage at the very top. it looks like it was driven under something that was too low. We let the dealership know .. sent them MULTIPLE photos. We were promised someone would call us back multiple times. After 3 weeks no one is calling us back And I have called and left multiple messages and spoke with multiple managers who just pass the buck to someone else to deal with. This dealership sold us an RV with preexisting DAMAGE and they will not do anything about it. The unit is brand new and still under warranty and they will not take responsibility. The unit also has leaking levelers. Do NOT buy anything from this dealership.. go somewhere else. read more

Went to look at 5th Wheels and pull behinds trailers, was considering trading my 2017 Thor Axis and very disappointed. Saw a few brand new trailers would have been interested in but for brand new trailers most needed at least a weeks worth of work. They are showing brand new trailers that need work, light fitures and loose, cracked drawers, scratches, etc. Brand new from the factory should be ready to shop ready to sell. For a trailer $45k + they didn't come with tvs. In my experience at other RV places you got what you were paying for. Where's the value and quality for your money these days???!!! This was my 3rd time looking at RVs and trailers and each time left disappointed. Will shop there but definitely won't be purchasing anything large from there. We bought our camper in April '22. After camping twice, we noticed soft floors. We SCHEDULED a time for us to take it to be repaired in JULY OF '22. It is February '23 and Camping World still has our camper. My husband has gone back and forth with them and Forest River and at this point it has just become a ridiculous fiasco. No one there seems to know whats going on nor do they have any urgency to get our camper back to us. Customer Service people are not very friendly and do not return calls or keep us updated with the status. We have to call every time we want an update. Found out, a few months in to the repair that we could've taken the camper back to enjoy while they waited for warranty approval and back ordered material! I purchased a 2018 Keystone Outback one year ago from this dealer. I really liked my salesman Robby. I used my brand new camper for 2 months on a hurricane deployment and then had to take it back for several warranty repairs. The dealership has now had the unit for 10 months and still has not completed the repairs. This is the worst experience that I have ever had. I was told that Camping World would try to keep the unit until the warranty runs out and now I believe it. Stay away from the service department. read more

This RV dealership has one of the most deceptive trade practices around. They said they would match any written quote for an RV they had in stock. When I presented them with the quote they requested; lo and behold they had a million excuses as to why they couldn't honor it. They even went so far as to bad mouth the competitor RV dealership that had the lower price! I'm sure they will stick some generic excuse as a response to this. Georgia buyers beware! My husband and I purchased an RV from this place in January. We should have known things were not quite right when during the closing sale, we questioned the amount of the Georgia sales tax that was included in the documents, and Rick disappeared for over thirty minutes. When he finally returned, he told us not to worry because their tax figures are generated by a state program and therefore, must be correct. We should have left then and there, but we decided to trust that this business was an ethical one. BIG MISTAKE! We have since learned....mostly from TAX OFFICES IN GEORGIA...that this company is the ONLY RV and automobile dealership in Alabama to charge their customers BOTH Alabama sales and Georgia sales tax. The other dealerships do not greedily gouge their customers. This Gander RV in Oxford has a REPUTATION among Georgia tax offices for their poor and elicit business practices. Before you sign on the dotted line, make some phone calls...do your homework. We regret that we did not. Because of Gander RV's unethical business practices, we were billed by the Carroll County, GA tag office for $1,400 for uncollected taxes NOT PAID BY GANDER. Travis, Rick, and the rest of them love to make promises. Believe none of them! We will be filing a formal complaint with the BBB in both Georgia and Alabama this week in an effort to prevent future victims. Shame on you, Gander RV of Oxford! Within minutes of posting this HONEST review and detailed account of my personal experience with this dealership, I received a phone call from Travis at Gander RV. He told me to file a BBB complaint and then promptly hung up on me. Dishonest and rude....that's what to expect from them. Rude sales associates. Will not leave you alone at all to look at their inventory. They want a sales person with you at all times to hear what you are talking about as far as your wants, needs, etc in order to impede your negotiating ability. They say it's because of legal reasons in case you fall on their property. Instead of having you sign a waiver though, they follow you around. Just totally uncomfortable experience. This place is the absolute Worst to deal with. Not honest. Do not honor their word. We had a video call with salesperson Carly. To view an RV. We talked about flying down and renting a car to them drive this RV home. They explained that would be great because we could return the car right there. We gave CC to hold RV which they guaranteed it would. She said I just have to talk to the manager and get final numbers and call you right back. NO call back. We got a non refundable plane ticket and rented a car. When she called back they said they had someone else to buy the RV- and they had not even come in to see it yet!! The first person to ask us if we needed help was very friendly but didn't have the knowledge and was asking another person. Finally the other person came out. We told him we had a short queen. He told us that we needed to go home and measure it and acted like he had something better to do in his office. He left and we left. read more

One of the worst experiences we have had. We purchased a camper in June 2022. Within a month (before I could even make a payment) we several things go wrong with it. The AC froze up, the thermal resistor went out, the hot water heater went out, the water pump had to be replaced, the seal around the shower came loose from the wall, it developed at least 2 cracks in the wall during transporting it, and some wall panels were not lined up correctly. Not soon after we got the camper back, we had to put it back in the shop due to a major water leak from several places in the roof. The GM said he would make it right and he did not even attempt to help us. He even refused to talk to us to help resolve our situation. We recommend that you go somewhere else to purchase a new camper!! read more

This review overwrote the follow up, and again I emailed the email stated 72 hours ago with no response still! Original Review below: I can honestly say, "DON'T BUY from Gander RV/Camping World"! I was told this a little over a year ago, and should have listened! Only to find out I have been lied to from Sales all the way to Service, to even being told by the Resolution Team, campers have issues a lot.. Including in the first year! They only care about a sale $, not the customer.. All the way up to the top! (Including Marcus' Resolution Team) We went to look anyway to get an idea, but prices were over budget so we were shown a 2018 Starcraft Camper. We were told by the sales person the person who ordered it never even stayed in it.. She declined to take it because the couch color was wrong. We were told we would be the first person to ever sleep in it, getting a brand NEW never slept in camper. Before signing I said so literally it is Brand New, never slept in? He said "Yes, top of the line brand also" Fast forward we have been battling Gander RV/Camping World since Dec 13, 2019 trying to get black/gray water sensors fixed, the propane heater is no longer working, the floor is peeling up and not just a little a lot, and the overhead decorative piece is peeling up. I was told it was submitted and declined, I asked why, they continued to tell me no answer was given. I was told Friday (Jan 17th) from Gander RV, I was the first registered owner and all will be covered, we have a leg to stand and fight on. I said "GREAT". I called Starcraft (today Jan 23rd) to find out I am indeed the 2nd registered owner, that the first owner had several work orders submitted under this unit. The last one being submitted Sept 2018 and they had bought it July 2018. So I find out the sales person lied, it was not first to sleep in it, Brand New at used price! The owner didn't decline the unit from a wrong couch color. It has indeed had several work orders on it! Several Issues from the very beginning. Was also told that reasons are always given when Starcraft declines a claim, not sure why they are telling you that.. There has been no work order submitted since Sept 2018. I was told by Gander RV/Camping World's head resolution team, "Ma'am have you ever owned an RV, they have issues".. I said within the first year! She said yes all the time, and it is not my fault you were lied to.. It shows you as the 2nd owner and we are at the mercy of the warranty department. I told her, I had been lied to from the beginning, she said "should have read paperwork better!" There is nothing she can do besides call the local dealer and see why they can't submit again to Starcraft. We bought the extended warranty, and yes looking at the paper work today I now see used.. But again we were told it was brand NEW never even slept in, because of couch color! Even told from Dec 13th to now, we are the first registered owners it will be covered (twice from Gander RV/Camping World). Only to find out I have been lied to from Sales all the way to Service, to even the Resolution Team! They only care about a sale $, not the customer.. All the way up to the top! Extended warranty is only paying for thermostat and sensors. They are not paying for a loose wire that controls the heating portion, nor the other items wrong with it. The heat will not work with this loose wire. And the fact that I was told several times by service "ALL" would be covered, I am the first registered owner - twice since Dec 13th (and was sold a camper on a complete and utter lie), Gander should fix the items at their expense. read more

Bottom line: Be very careful when making your dealership selection. The General manager is the ONLY one that returns phone calls. Is the ONLY one that attempts to be helpful. Be prepared to do most of the items yourself while feeling very frustrated. You have been warned! My full review is too long for google reviews so here is the bullet points. - Drove 5 hours to but a 2018 Kodiak Ultimate. Ended up buying a 2019 for $1,500 more. - Left trailer with them overnight to ensure it would be ready for me the next day and it wasn't ready. We spent an extra 3 hours there for them to finish working on it so we could make the trip home. - Trailer leveling system was wired backwards in the front and would not function properly, I ended up having to troubleshoot (5 hrs worth) and rewire the front myself as dealership was not helpful (provided me a toll free phone number). This wasn't identified at the dealership because the module was missing and when the installed it and ran it on perfectly level ground it function. If they would have run it during my walk through where the ground wasn't perfectly level due to drains in the cement we would have discovered it probably. - Service did not put my power cable in the trailer after my walk through. I had to call them the next morning to ship it to me and I received it a week after purchase. - Was told 3+ times that service dept would call me and they never called - Was told by sales manager (after service never called me) to give him chance to work my issue. I did and he failed to follow through ultimately forcing me to call the general manager 3 days later - General manager was awesome and actually followed through. Overnight-ed a gift card that sales manager failed to send and gave me his cell number to use if I have any more issues. - After 3+ weeks, still no loan paperwork to make my first payment, had to call the finance department to get the bank info to call the bank to work it out myself (there was an issue when finance submitted my documents). My account was not set up because they had just received the paperwork that day. - After 3+ weeks, still no word on the titling/registration for the trailer. Was told by 2 different finance folks they would get with the Titling Office and call me back. No phone calls and I had to call the General Manager to get an answer. He said they submitted the paperwork and to wait a bit longer - After 4 weeks, still have no idea if I am going to get the replacement marker light I asked for the day after delivery when I realized it was out. I wouldn't wish this experience on anyone. Do yourself a favor and find a dealership that knows what customer service is. It shouldn't take repeated calls to the GM to get things fixed. read more

It's a nice December day and we thought we would go walk around the lot and look at what's new. Well the salesman insisted on following us even to the restroom ( he sat outside the door until we came out !) We asked him to not follow us around since it would be a waste of time because we are not buying anything. He told us it was "company policy" that we could not be left alone on the lot. Never heard that one before. So we left and will look at other dealerships. We went to look and consider buying a camper on 11/20/2021. We had a very kind salesman, Jeff, who didn't pressure us and showed us everything we asked to see. He was basically the only positive from our experience. We decided on a Keystone Premier camper. The finance department said everything possible to try and convince us to use them for financing. When I say everything, Travis went as far as lying to our face. We called him out on the lie and he tried to fix his story but their was no way he could and they all knew it. We financed through our bank and went to pick up our camper on 11/22. They took us through the camper and everything looked wonderful until we saw the tongue on the camper where it hooks to the truck. The tongue has been rammed with a forklift. No one had noticed it or they tried to let us go home without noticing it. Thankfully, my husband saw the damage and the camper was pretty much totaled due to the extent of the damage and the camper was unable to be sold. They located me another camper in Nashville and it was delivered down to Alabama in a week. The camper was priced $2000 cheaper at the Nashville location as well as the Dothan location, however, Oxford refused to match that price and told us to take it or leave it. They also told us they weren't going to charge us a destination fee, lucky us, for getting the camper to Alabama WHEN IT WAS THEIR FAULT WE HAD TO GET ANOTHER CAMPER. We would have left it and gone elsewhere, my husband and I both wanted to, BUT they had charged us a $1000 non-refundable down payment on 11/20 to hold the camper. When we went to pick up the camper, it was very vague. We completed paperwork and we're shown necessities of the camping world, the sales associate was very kind, but when it came to taking the camper home we had no clear communication. No salesman or service employee communicated with us about where to go to hook up, instead, they put the camper in the parking lot, locked the gates, and left without making sure everything was hooked up properly or asking if we had any questions about hook up. The camper wasn't cleaned up as good as the first one we were suppose to take home either, which I want to mention again was damaged by one of their employees and wasn't our fault we couldn't go through with the sale on that particular one. I would NOT recommend using this location to purchase a camper. If you do go anyways, ask for Jeff as your salesman and be prepared to be put through a ton of unnecessary crap and inconvenience with poor costumer service and poor communication from all other members in the finance and service departments. read more

I'm a 75 year old veteran with I thought a good attitude to life. Bought a small trailer, my mistake. I bought cameras, they installed In two weeks. picked up, took a day. Took it to Florida for four days. No refrigerated air came from the ac for four days. The wall thermostat did work, it pegged at 90 wouldn't go any further. We lost about 20 lbs sweating. We brought our dog back on a stretcher. I called camper world. They said, bring it in we will check it out. That's a 70 mile round trip. My wife turned 71 on that trip. Happy birthday ma. We used to stay at this park all the time when it was a KOA. The best thing GSCW could have done was hire Judy and Bill back. These two managers are the best in the business and go above and beyond to make your stay pleasurable. We are still waiting after 4 weeks for Gary the service manager to call us back and help us resolve the issues we are having. Keystone informed us to have this service location help us and still waiting for a courtesy phone call. DO NOT BUY YOUR RV at this location. You will be on your own if you have issues and no one will help you. I will continue to write these bad reviews until we get the customer service we deserve. We purchased an RV at this location and it has some warranty issues from the first day. We were informed they couldn't service and fix the issue and we have been trying for them to help resolve this issue, so I guess after you purchase one you are on your own and they don't care. We took our KZ Durango Gold fifth wheel in for warranty items to be completed on July 21, 2022. No work was completed only pictures taken with a promise of an appointment ASAP. A month later my husband was working in the area and stopped by to check status of an appointment to have warranty items done to be told they were waiting on the VIN number. When asked why they had not contacted us to obtain the VIN number no one knew the answer. After months and many E-mails and phone calls we still did not have an appointment to complete warranty items. Most of the time they would not return our calls or E-mails, when they did all they did was make excuses and blame KZ for the hold up when this was not true. In November 2022 we requested that Camping World refund the $79.50 we paid them for accomplishing absolutely nothing. It is January 2023 and we still have not received the refund. In November 2022 we contacted Bankston Motor Homes of Attalla Alabama, the warranty work has already been completed, we have not been charged at all, everything was covered under warranty, we would highly recommend them! read more

It's a shame that great sales staff, Justin and Austin, and walk through staff, Tim and Tracey have to work under a General Manager as negligent as Tom Meadows. We had a wonderful experience until the end. Spent over 3 hours at the location waiting on our camper and SUV to be hooked up, later to find out they didn't have the proper parts. We were there bright and early Saturday morning and got two hotel rooms so that we could be. We asked for the GM three times but apparently he couldn't step away from his desk to speak with us. (He could however, finish eating his lunch). Bottom line, it's a shame that this is the management and that good employees have someone such as Tom Meadows to work under. I would give negative stars if possible. This has been the most horrific purchase I have ever made, Bought the unit in November. Has been in shop more than it hasnt. It took 3 months to get an AC unit replaced. When we got it back we found that the hot water unit was leaking under the bed. Was originally leaking and was told that the leak was repaired. We brought the unit in to be repaired at the end of March to be repaired and as of today it still isn't repaired. Took over 6 weeks just to get the unit looked at. This will be our 3rd vacation without a totally working unit. We have even contacted corporate with these issues. All we get is excuses and promises but nothing more. If I could return the unit, I would. I won't use Gander RV again and will steer anyone I know looking for an RV elsewhere. read more

Where do I even begin with the incompetency? 1) My husband and I found a used camper that happened to be located at this camping world on RVtrader.com and it looked great! In the photos (which were clearly taken while at Camping World) the slides were out and the spacious interior looked pristine. We drove 2 hours through rural Alabama to see the camper and were told while en route that the slides wouldn't fully deploy. No problem, we can still get a feel for it and decide if we want to make an offer. Fast forward a bit and we decide to make an offer on the camper - a bit less than asking because we find a few issues with it and the owner (it was on consignment) answered the phone call immediately and refused to budge even one dollar on his asking price. Again, no problem. We agree to the price provided that a few things inside are fixed before we buy. We sign the purchase order and have our bank overnight the check. 2) We arrive on time to do our walk through after being told that minor water damage was found once the slides were opened - again, no problem - Camping World said they'd fix it before we picked it up. Keeping in mind we had secured a loaner truck to collect our new camper. Upon arrival we find that "minor" is a gross understatement - the entire rear end of the camper is rotted out. 3) We tell them that we're pulling our offer unless the owner is willing to substantially drop his price and suddenly he won't answer any phone calls... 4) We ask to see other campers and find another one we love. We make an offer and that owner's phone has been disconnected. At this point we thank them for their time and tell them to please mail our loan check back to our bank. They agree, we shake hands and go our separate ways. Fast forward again and we find another camper at a different camping world and decide to make an offer. We contact Camping World of Oxford and ask when they mailed the check to our bank so they can cut a new one to the new Camping World. Day One, we're told, it's been taken care of. Day Two, "I'm off work today but I'll let you know tomorrow." Day Three, left a voicemail. Etc., etc. A full week later the check is still sitting on the finance manager's desk and our new deal is being held up. We asked to have the check overnighted and he opted to send it ground because it was cheaper. Long story short. Don't waste your time. The sales reps are incompetent. The finance department doesn't care about you. And, they have no inkling of courtesy or consideration for a customer's time. read more

Follow up: Do not buy into the replys posted by the business requesting follow up emails or phone calls. I have submitted an email to the provided address....no response received...ever. I have received phone calls from the customer service reps that I answered and provided info to. Ultimately, they were speechless and just wanted off of the phone. The same guy actually called me twice a couple days apart and when I asked him if he was the same guy I talked to previously he groaned when he realized it before hanging up. I have been pleasant with every interaction because my experience is not their fault. I only share this to save others from my experience. read more

**I am in the business** Upon arrival On 8/13(my aunts camper is still there today) we arrived at C/W @ approximately 4:15pm, I stood there for more than 5 long minutes. No one said a single word to me as they buzzed around, busy. I grew more impatient as the seconds and minutes went by. When we were finally spoken to it was " Have y'all been helped?" Uh no. Needless to say, it's been there nearly 3 weeks and I haven't gotten one single phone call about the camper. Nor has my aunt. All the can tell me is it's warranty. Duh!! I am actually not pleased at all. I will not be doing any business with this camping world and plan to let others know my opinion as well. I called ahead to ensure that this travel trailer was available. I looked at it and a few more and then decided to make an offer. After a good amount of time negotiating I was then told that the camper was not available, that someone else had just purchased it. I drove all the way from Carrollton on my day off because of this specific TT. It was a complete waste of time. I am going camping Thursday and this was the only day that I had to visit and purchase what I wanted so that I would have room for my mom to join us on our Thanksgiving trip. If a camper is available and someone drives all the way to your dealership to look at it and begins making offers, it is unethical to then sell it to someone else who is not even in the building. It is poor treatment to the customer who drove and showed up and chose to spend time at your dealership. I was then told that they could get another one just like it there by next Monday. Monday is too late, that is why I showed up today to make the purchase. This is completely unacceptable. The sales guy was awesome, he told me as soon as he knew that the unit was purchased right out from under me. That is the only positive comment that I have. read more

Travelled up from Franklin GA to see about getting a class c rv. Toured with my wife and then Butch Fairfield, our salesperson let us just wonder around looking. We fell in love with a class c rv bunk beds. Wow!! Butch Fairfield was great, no pressure to purchase. They even cooked/grilled hamburgers and hotdogs with all the fixings. We will have to wait until I get a chance to purchase. Butch Fairfield was a great guy. If we buy, Butch Fairfield has our man. I highly recommend this rv center to purchase from. Thanks. read more
