I chose Detroit Processing upon recommendation of my "cattle guy". In case you don't have a "cattle…read moreguy", this review is for you. We raised our second steer this year and Detroit Processing was there with us from the beginning. We got on their schedule many months in advance to ensure we had a spot. When the time came, they were ready without any problems. Unloading at their site was much easier than where we processed our previous steer and the helpers were actually very helpful. Rhonda helped us immensely with the cut sheet and offered options that I had never considered (did someone say "summer sausage"? YUM!) The cuts and vacuum packaging far exceed our previous experience and everything was neatly organized in what they call a "truck". (It's a large rolling shelf unit that held all our beef) They really took care of us and smoked the brisket, formed 1/2 lb hamburger patties, and even sliced the liver. That saved us so much trouble. When it comes time for the next steer - there's no need to consult my "cattle guy" because Detroit Processing is the place we will use.

We go once a week usually for steaks and always leave with a few packages of Andouille sausages, chicken drumsticks ( cheaper here than I've ever seen anywhere), Late July brand tortilla chips which truly are Mexican restaurant style, Johnson Honey farm honey (cinnamon and strawberry creamed),and farm fresh eggs. They have delicious candy,always have a butcher on hand to cut your steaks and the owner and employees are super nice and happy to answer questions. If all businesses were operated like this there would be no reason for Yelp.
