We took full advantage of the pool and the river also, as it was probably the hottest weekend of the summer! All of the staff were awesome and super accommodating. The place was almost totally booked up and yet sooo quiet at night, you'd never have believed it. The other campers were all respectful and friendly. There were a lot of activities to do for the kids which was really cool. We got up early on checkout day to find what we thought would be the perfect spot for our next trip in a few weeks and booked it before we even checked out. There is lots of noise after the 11pm quite time, little to no security that I've seen, over the years we had stuff stolen, coolers, bikes. So now I bring chains and locks and chain and lock everything up at night. I think last couple of years things has went down hill somewhat and not for sure why, it's a nice park, but I think they've cut back on spending and repairs. We typically have events with live music a couple times a week, as well as food trucks (but only during summer to my knowledge). There are less families than any other group of people but we still enjoy having a home-away-from-home. The routine is 14 days booked (with a minimal daily fee) and 7 days off-site (some storage available on site). Bathhouses, pavilion, overflow parking, clubhouse and some weekly events (during the summer) included. Laundry room available but we rarely use it. Dogs allowed with proper vaccines and license. There is a small dog park on site. We really enjoy the two pools (one with kiddie area and lifeguards).

We were initially excited to get two units for a week, but the poor state of the units and the lack of ability to coordinate with the management rates 2 stars. We had a total of 10 people staying in the units and only had five towels total per unit for the entire week. Understanding COVID restrictions, however the dryer in the unit did not work so we were forced to bring to buy our own towels. There were also not enough utensils or plates or pots to cook daily meals, nor was the staff responsive to requests for help. At the end of our stay, the manager Matt Sheely, promised that he would refund $75 for the dryer being broken in one of the units, but we never received the refund - even after three conversations with Mr Sheely, seven unanswered voicemails, and two conversations at the supervisor level with Asha. As a retired veteran, I'm very disappointed at the level of disrespect and poor service provided through the MWR program.

Behind our spot, there was a nice wooded area with a trail. Pet friendly: We brought our dog with us and she enjoyed her time there. Kid friendly: This was paradise to the kids. They had a beautiful playground near the campgrounds. All of the trails were awesome and easy for them to navigate. They enjoyed fishing also. I will definitely return. They have taken good care of the park over the years and have improved on the entire area. Plenty of parking to the left as soon as you enter the park. The Office is close to the entrance next to the lake. They have a nice area for fishing. You just need to bring n active fresh water fishing license. They also post when they have stocked the lake last. I love that for only $10 an hour you can rent a canoe. They have lots of life jackets of all sizes and plenty of different paddles. For us this was perfect. At a nice leisurely pace it took us an hour and a half to paddle the entire water way. We had a great time and will definitely go and do this again. The water way is peaceful with plenty of shade. My favorite part of the water trail is that you get to go under a couple of beautiful bridges. They also offer kayaks and paddles for those. The best part is that they have a boat launch area. You stay perfectly dry getting in and out. They have hiking trails. The one thing is that they could mark their trails better. We found that they did not mark the water way trail either. But it certainly makes it an adventure. We had someone tell us to look on our google map on our phone to find out our location. You can pick up a paper map but you can still get lost. It is helpful if you have google map or hiking map app. They have a nice small mini golf area. Very well kept and clean. We did not play but there were plenty of people playing the mini golf. Camping area is nice. They have a kids playground in the camping area. They have water and electrical hook ups for RV's. They have Cabin's with heat and AC. You can also take a tent and hammocks . Wide variety of camping in this area and it is very well kept.
