There are so many trails to walk along and activities to do such as zip lining, bmx, skateboarding, rock climbing. There is a new section for family camping with four walled cabin tents. Many of the camps now have heated showers so that is an added bonus. There's wildlife everywhere: deer, turkey, bear, and even a beaver.

The problem we encountered was with the winding dirt roads and paths through the woods leading from the main highway (19) up to both the hotel and the facility where the event was held. I understand this is a huge property for boy scout events and large groups coming here for summer camp, etc. but when a private event is held and folks are driving in the reserve, we felt that the Summit Bechtel and/or the Yamagata failed to provide sufficient directions for finding our way around and finding the hotel and event building on Fennemen St. A map of the roads in the reserve provided by the Yamagata would have been extremely helpful had one been sent to us prior to arrival. Additionally, the street signage in the reserve was quite poor as we got lost at least a couple times from not knowing where to go. But before that, as we entered the main gate, we told the guy in the shack where we were headed and he simply said, "Follow the signs". We quickly found out that was of little help. I would suggest that the security shack personnel hand out a map with the roads and clear directions to the two buildings I mentioned above to attendees of private events as it's a little scary to get lost on this facility, particularly in evening hours. Just a little heads up for anyone else going there for private events, try to make sure someone provides the directions you will need to drive in there without issues finding the places.

Camp Hidden Meadows is the GREATEST. I went this summer and loved it. They had a lot of fun…read moreactivities, like archery, rock climbing, and pottery. They had sing-alongs around the campfire. The counselors are really nice and supportive. They are there if you need anything and help make you feel at home. I made friends with the other campers there, and we can't wait to go back next year. I liked the cabins - they're cozy and the beds are comfortable. If you have any food allergies, like you're gluten-free, dairy-free, or sugar-free, they accommodate that and will have food options for you. They have dance parties on Friday nights, movies on Saturday nights, and the other nights are just as fun with other activities, like sing-alongs or they'll have "Cabin Nights" where you do fun stuff with your cabin, like baking or making bracelets. It's a good idea to stay for at least two weeks for your first summer. I highly recommend it!

Massive disappointment. I have gone to this camp for many years, and the way camp was managed this…read moreyear was unacceptable. People were refused Covid tests unless they had 3 or more symptoms, EVEN WITH HIGH FEVERS. My friend got sick with what they called the "camp cold." They had a high fever and were coughing, but they were refused Covid tests or basic medication beyond a very limited supply of cough drops, as they camp somehow only had one bag. One bag. For a camp of over 150. They were then left in the cabin, which had heavy insulation and a non-functional fan. Because of this, the cabin got very hot during the day and they were left to melt inside. After camp, I learned that their parents had received NOTHING informing them that their child was sick and miserable. Their were also many cases of Covid (though their were most likely more that had not been tested) . This camp costs several thousand dollars to go to and I cannot comprehend how they were lacking so many basic necessities. I will not be returning next year, and I do not recommend sending your kids here.
