You know the saying, time flies when you're having fun?…read more This is that type of place. I lived in Rome back in '09 for a couple of years, and if this place existed, there would probably be a board with a picture of me saying, "Lifetime customers," because I would totally be in here everyday. For starters, $13 per person for half an hour is not bad. You get to throw a real axe at real wood. This is none of that come one come all place or kiddie plastic axe and foam blocks type of place. The first 30 minutes went by so quickly, because it was so much fun. The games are not automatic interactive, but honestly I liked that fact that they weren't, because for some games, like the wheel of fortune based game, it would have taken forever, so the set up with the projector and the mouse/keyboard were really nice. The only downside to this place was the distance between the throwing lane, tables, and the throwing lane or bathrooms if you are on the back end, but the spaces in the Rome downtown buildings aren't that big to matter where you go, so I don't fault the owner for that. Great place! I hope it stays! Automatic go-to when in Rome.

I like the axe throwing bit the pricing is totally screwed up. They charge $25 per person for 1 hr…read more That means a party of 4 pays $100. So, if a party of 4 plays, go to 4 different axe throwing stations in order to play more games for an hr instead of 4 playing on 1 throwing station and playing less games. This just does make good business since. Why not rent 1 station for $25/hr no mater how many people throw at that particular throwing station. That way, more people can throw and buy more food and drink. It's ridiculous for me and my wife to pay $50 bucks/hr just to throw some axes. It's a ripoff. I won't be going back until they fix this issue.

First of all, I guess I need to lower my expectations. Going to a all you can eat buffet pizza…read more There's always going to be a lot of kids, especially with the huge arcade that they have. Also is a great place for soccer teams or baseball teams to eat together as a team which gives you a lot of noise. I guess just being an old fuddy-duddy it's not my My vibe. I put the service slow as because it took us 40 minutes to get the pizza that we ordered. Although once we got the pizza it's fantastic. We got the deep dish and it was excellent. Crust was crispy fried fresh. If you can get over the noise level then that's a good place There is a room that you can reserve to have a party which is very nice. Lots of arcade games. The only neither of the negative was that when we ordered they automatically added like a $4 drink on our order and I said I'm sorry but we wanted water and so they had to take it through. The problem is they didn't ask which one drink it automat could rang it up and I asked her if you'd have asked. Matt have told you water. She says I'm sorry but we've been instructed by managers not to ask just to go ahead and bring the drink up. So bare that in mind

I've been to several Cici's locations around the country. It's typically a great place to go for a…read morequick pizza & salad lunch or dinner. Upon entering you are ALWAYS greeted by "Welcome to Cici's!" The Calhoun, GA location is no different, except for the execution of creating pizza. When you go to a buffet, I'm sure you expect some of the food to be old and cold. Most buffet operators, including most Cici's locations rotate their pizzas to ensure their product remains fresh and hot. Not this location. The employees (high school and college students) are constantly moving old pizza slices to other pies on the buffet to make the pies look full. They pay no attention to the quality of the food or how long it's been on the buffet. Let's face it, you can look at a slice of pizza and tell if it's fresh or not. When they get busy, they make several types of pizza. Most locations keep the basic pepperoni, cheese, sausage pies in rotation. Not this location. I've waited upwards of thirty minutes or more to see a fresh pepperoni pizza come out of the oven and hit the buffet. You want a plain cheese pie, better get a book, it's going to be a while. Now, there's nothing wrong with employees enjoying their jobs and having some fun with their co-workers. The staff at this location takes it to the extreme. I've been there several times with nothing but a limited selection made up of cold pizza with nothing new being produced. Why? The guys in the kitchen are huddled up talking, gossiping, whatever. They're simply not focused on their jobs. The manager on duty seems to never keep them focused. The ambiance is the same as any and every other Cici's. When you walk in, you know what to expect from that perspective. The staff that tries to keep the tables clean do a great job. They clearly work hard and you never see them huddled up talking amongst themselves. If it weren't for them, this location would have earned a much worse score.

~First review of 2023~…read more I'd give this park maybe a 3.5. There are so many great parks where I live in Gwinnett County that can be relied upon for cleanliness, available bathrooms, picnic areas, and that are overall great for functions and gatherings, I've gotten spoiled. This was my first time up to Rome on January 2nd, and maybe things were in the condition that they were due to it being the day after a holiday (short staffed or just employees not back to work yet). However, the first thing I noticed about this park is that the bathrooms were filthy and not maintained. There were several stalls, but maybe only one or two were functional and not clean but acceptable. Most of the toilets were overflowing. Tampons and paper littered the floors. It was just not an appealing first time experience because of the bathroom situation. Additionally, there only seemed to be sanitizer inside the stalls and no working sink nearby. So this added to the feelings of filth. You could flush most (not all) of the toilets, but even then you'd have to press the buttons really hard. Getting past the bathrooms, there were several picnic areas, nice views of the Oostanaula River (which I'd never heard of, but thanks to Google now I have), at least three different play areas for the kids, a seemingly nice set of trails to wander, a stage for performances, and ample parking. Overall, the park itself was nice, but it seems like a better place for locals and not really convenient if you're from out of town. If you don't mind the filthy restrooms or are fine with stopping at a gas station on the way in or out, then I'd recommend this spot just to walk or picnic at or to bring the kids to play. If you live in the area, obviously, just go at home, if you prefer. For me personally, it was a nice place to stop and have lunch at after a long drive, but I think "when in Rome" I'll just go straight to Berry College next time which is what I really would like to check out in the area and see if there's an outdoor space to just eat there while visiting.
