The park is popular - there are always people and families around - and it feels safe and friendly, even at night. The ball fields have been undergoing some extensive renovations in 2023 and the whole park is being improved overall. There are bathrooms available. They aren't great but are definitely better than nothing.

I was there for my daughter's soccer games, but the baseball teams had the larger lit up fields at the park, as well as an announcer that you could hear around the entire park. Ahhh, memories. Fritchie Park also has a small enclosed playground that is so shady if you need to entertain your younger kids. It's got all the equipment they'll want and some nice benches for you to chill out on. There's a limit because they don't want to overpack the place. The slots are in 30 min increments. There are people to oversee the playground, but you can't just drop them off and leave the kids there. You still have to be present. You have to take your shoes off first and there's cubbies for you to place them in. Then my favorite part is actually the handwashing station. There's 2 circles and you just place your hands and arms in there until it turns on. You remove your hands once the machine stops and then you dry your hands with some paper towels after. There's a large soft play area for kids.There's also a Jungle gym structure for bigger kids. There's a family rest room, nursing room, and changing room. This place has it all and there's plenty of space for parents to sit and watch.

Some walked while some biked. Sugar Mill is a looping trail about a mile long. The alligator boardwalk trail was closed, likely due to damage from Ida and hasn't been repaired yet. There was another trail, but we did not take it. The massive cypress are just awesome! The Spanish moss slowly wavering in the air as you walk underneath these giants is just captivating to me! We did not encounter any creatures except squirrels and a male Orchard Orbweaver and his impressive web. Sooo much space and things to do here we didn't even do all of it. There's big open fields for playing, a playground, tons of parking available. I did see the pier and water of Lake Pontchartrain in the distance, but we were too hungry to keep exploring lol $3 per person to enter the park - 100% worth it

This is a great park for kids and adults…read more Located next to Mandeville City Hall, I guess this could be considered the official City Park. There are two large play sets for kids. There is one general area, and one designed for younger kids. Both sets are relatively modern and will be enjoyed by kids regardless of their age. The set in the general area has a ramp that should accommodate wheelchairs. In addition to the play sets, there are swing sets, metal climbing obstacles and a giant open area. I recommend you play the run as fast as you can to that tree in the distance game to wear your kids out. There are also two tennis courts. I don't know if they need to be reserved, but it looks like it is first come first serve. If you want a place for your kids to play, check out this park.
