We visited our friend's camper at Holiday Camplands, on a July weekend. They were celebrating and…read more"all seasons" weekend, so there were lots of activities going on! They have a full calendar of events, golfing, swimming, a large lake and many more activities. We had a great time and would recommend it to anyone looking to get away for the weekend or buy in!

I've been camping at Holiday Camplands several times in the summer and absolutely love the place…read more It's a nice "home away from home". It's a pretty large campsite, much larger than other local campgrounds. There is plenty to do there for children and adults, alike. There are two separate swimming pools, a large one located near the Clubhouse and the other, which is a bit smaller but still large enough for several people, located near the front of the campsite. There is a small playground located near the Clubhouse, as well, with a few swing sets and slides for children to play on. Holiday also contains its own golf course and a small mini golf (putt-putt) course. I'm 24 and had fun playing putt-putt there. Gault lake is also located in the campground. I believe that paddle boats/small boats are allowed in the lake, and it is stocked with fish for fishing, but there is no swimming permitted. There are various events that Holiday Campgrounds holds for adults and kids. There are teen/adult dances held at the pavilion near the clubhouse, and there are usually some decent local bands and DJ's there on the weekend. They hold bingo once in a while, which I have never been to, but would enjoy going to in the near future. There are also movie showings, which are typically aimed towards children and are usually showings of older movies. There is also a nice camp store located on the premises. It's a pretty basic camp store that stocks several camp-friendly groceries, candy, coffee/slush drinks, personal care products, and a lot of alcohol. There are three eateries located on the campsite. The pizza joint is decent. I tried their pizza last night and, while it wasn't anything to brag about, it was decent enough. They do, however, have delicious garlic bread sticks that are to die for! Prices are decent too. Kellie's Kones is also located near the Clubhouse and while the flavors and options there are minimal, the ice cream tastes good and the prices are fair. I would not recommend eating at Sandy's concession stand, though. I made the mistake of ordering a salad and order of fried pickles there and was shocked to find out that the portions that I was given were ridiculous for the rather expensive price. The salad was priced similarly to that of a sit-down restaurant and it was pathetically small. I was given four small fried pickles, too, and paid a premium for them. I would never eat there again. Overall, this place is really nice. I give it 5 stars because of all of the entertainment that the place offers and the friendliness of the staff.

I met his wife at the general store and she after hugging and other pleasantries got in my car and we proceeded to her RV. Just got there and David raced up in his golf cart and proceeded to tell me he could have the police arrest me and her for giving the "secret" code to get in. Just the day before she was told she was going the wrong way on a street with no signs. I was told on the phone when my CC was billed I would receive an email with a map and what cabin I was in. Never happened! Finally at 5:00 at night I was allowed back in. 5 MPH is posted all over. My car in 1st gear idling is faster than that. Had foot on brake for all movement in camp. Many others go the opposite way on the roads in the campgrounds, particularly the golf carts and boy, never knew a golf cart could go so fast. Big sign no driving on grass, was told not for you. Sign in cabin says no parking on grass by cabins. They either do not want disabled vets there or they cater to people that pay by the year. Oh yes, pets are welcome, sign says you must take your dog so it doesn't bark. There was a barking dog that could be heard in the cabin, the trailer it came from said Mayor of the Lake. Once again if you aren't one of the good ole boys, watch your step.
