Overall, I'm a fan of Camp Gladiator. My primary instructor is phenomenal, energetic, inspirational, and challenges you to the best of your ability. My two favorite alternative instructors are the best. Incredible people. I do have one gripe that stopped me short of rating. On two occasions I registered for one of the "challenges." The challenge itself was no problem at all and I enjoyed it. However, receiving the prize which was a T-Shirt became a bit of a hassle for one and a big let down for the most recent challenge "Goal Getter Challenge" back in January. Upon successfully completing the challenge, I followed the remaining step to confirm which was featured in an email and in the CG app. I've confirmed the completion on Jan 17, well ahead of the deadline of Mar 19 along with confirming it multiple times weekly after Jan 17th. I periodically checked my email to for a delivery notification along with checking my mailbox. Til this day, I did not receive any notification nor the T-Shirt that was promised upon completing the challenge. I spoke with a representative on July 14 about the issue. I was told that they didn't have any in stock whereas the deadline passed. I asked about a refund or store credit and the representative told me the challenge was non-refundable nor there was any chance of getting store credit. I told the representative I didn't receive any notification about any delays of the T-Shirt being delivered and explained to her why I am being subjected to being penalized on the account of an issue that occurred on CGs end. She countered by saying an email was sent out to campers to confirm the delay. Based on the details she provided, it was sent out in on of the weekly email updates months ago. At this point, I knew I wasn't going to get compensated. She did offer a coupon but I refused it. However, I did check every weekly email I received and not one of those emails contained any information about the delay of the "Goal Getter" Challenge" T-Shirt. I do not delete any of my emails (yahoo) so I know none were deleted. In other words, she told a lie. One of Camp Gladiator core values include "Integrity." Although I was disappointed about the situation, I'm extra disappointed that I was lied to about the email notification that was allegedly sent out to all campers. First, if you also are having issues with Camp Gladiator's Billing practices when you cancelled your membership, file a consumer complaint with the office of the attorney general's office. Camp Gladiator was provided notice after my contract was over that I no longer wanted my membership in December 2021, when I emailed them. A few months later I received a notice from a collections agency for Jan-Mar of 2022 dues for camp gladiator. She said that no one could cancel my membership via email, yet on the billing statements it literally tells you that you to contact them by email. Further, CG neither gives you a copy nor posts a copy of your contract, in yet says that their contract requires cancellation by phone only...In 2022?...this is a ploy to continue charging you because the hold time is 45 min for a phone call. Lastly, the only contract I do have is from 2017 and it states you can cancel by email...so at this point I am wondering how and why CG is trying to bill people like this when they have given notice that they seek to cancel their Membership. Avoid this company at all costs. It all started out great, the trainers were AMAZING. However, once you sign up they make it impossible to cancel. I got injured so many times and had to stop for weeks sometimes month at a time. Unless I went to a doctor, got a note, and they approved it, they wouldn't allow me to cancel. Holidays came, my card had fraudulent activity so it got canceled, impeding payments to CG. They harassed so much for it and despite having one month left of said contract they sent it to collections! I got an email from my EMPlOYER stating a letter had been sent to my job. I was so confused as I've never listed them as my mailing address let alone share with others where I work due to safety. When I got the letter and opened it, it was from a debt collector. $87 dollars, which wasn't what I owed them. I then started getting phone calls non stop from various numbers. When I called CG to ask what was going on, Joshua was very condensing and disrespectful despite my being patient and speaking in a neutral tone. I joined CG in June of 2016 and was okay with everything until the Pandemic hit. I switched to virtual, but rarely attended. I lost my card in May of 2022 and they weren't able to charge me. I called to update my information and also inquired about when my contract would end. They advised it would end in October 2022. I called in October and confirmed that my account was cancelled. I even tried to log into the app to no avail, so I'm thinking I'm good to go. Fast forward to July 20th of this year, I get notice that they were unable to charge my card, because I recently had another banking change; low and behold, I was never cancelled! I called customer service, and they proceed to tell me that I was suspended, and they would not cancel me until I make the July payment. I told them that I had called last year to cancel this and they conveniently had no record of the call and wanted me to find the correspondence and went on to say that sometimes the app works and sometimes it doesn't. How do I know that your phone records don't have the said 'glitch' your app has and didn't record my call to cancel. They decided that that they would go ahead and cancel me effective immediately, but in order for me to get a refund I would need to produce the correspondence from last year. They did something similar with my sister's account 2 weeks ago. This company is full of it. They will tell you that you are locked in as long as one class is within a 30 mile radius of your home address. Who drives 30 miles each way to do a workout? Next, they will require that you cancel over the phone (WTF? This is 2023). Next, once you have fulfilled your contract (mine was for 2 years), and you finally get on the phone, they will tell you that I can't cancel within 7 days of my next billing date. Loved CG trainers and classes. Admin is unbelievably worthless. They refuse to accept membership cancellations unless you call during a specific time period. They are unethical and will attempt to send you to collections because they ignore both written and verbal requests to terminate expired contracts. They cannot even provide an acceptable receipt for employer reimbursement despite multiple asks that dates of service be listed. My daughter was 17 and went to work out. They talked her into signing a year contract and the instructor check that she was over 18 but she was not. She then left for college. They tried to hold her to the contract. When she did not continue to pay, they sent it into collections and it's now on her credit report. I do not recommend signing up for anything with this company. I tried to call and talk to a supervisor and they said they couldn't do anything about it to call the collection company. She basically said my daughter lied and said she was 18 which she never did. I'm sure the instructor checked all boxes before he handed it to her to sign on his iPad. I'm not sure how they can hold a minor responsible for their one year subscription. I will be in touch with the BBB, this is unacceptable. Look up the BBB complaints before wasting your time. My husband and I tried out a couple classes to see if we liked it. The first day we have them all or info and we were told that we would not be charged for those couple classes. My husband hurt his knee during the one week freebie (needed 3 mths PT, scans, the whole nine to fix). We told the instructor that we decided it wasn't for us 4 days into the free week. My husband opened the app and it instructed him to accept something in order to see what was on the app. Apparently that signed us up. We called the instructor again and told him we were not going to do the classes and my husband had to see a doctor. He told him he had to contact CS which was a joke and uploaded a letter from my husband doctor. They said they cancelled his membership but would not give him a refund. I just now checked the CC transaction history and they have been charging us since oct of last year..... During Covid (6mths)..... unbelievable. We don't really use the CC so we didn't think to look up the transactions. Now I'm going to have to call the bank and report it as fraud. DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR INFO DURING THE TRIAL WEEK!!!!! Update: Beware.... Reported it to the bank and have requested a refund about 20 times from Camp Gladiator with only computer-generated responses. Made phone calls and still nothing. Signed up for a promo they were doing for $20 bucks. It was advertised that you would have unlimited access to training and nutritional coaching for a month. It took over 10 days to hear from a trainer (so I missed out on several in person workouts) and I never heard from a nutritional coach. I reached out to see if I could get a refund, as I did not receive what was promised/advertised. I was told that all sales were final. Fair, except I in no way got what I paid for. I was really excited for the opportunity to utilize this for a discounted price. However, I personally had a terrible experience. Customer service was rude also. Beware that they may take your money. A warning to everyone: Camp Gladiator's nutritional coaching agreement discriminates against people with a sudden onset illness compared to their BOLD membership agreement. I joined Camp Gladiator's nutritional coaching in order to help improve my eating habits. Very recently I was diagnosed with a metabolic disease which required a strict diet that is being monitored by licensed healthcare professionals. Something I was not expecting, nor could I control. Seeing now that my diet is to now be monitored by healthcare professionals I called Camp Gladiator and asked to end my nutritional coaching since I have a documented medical reason to not continue with their coaching. The customer service supervisor told me that, unlike their BOLD membership, their nutritional coaching program does not have a clause where a member can cancel their membership, even if they have a physician's letter stating the medical need to not continue. I have seven more monthly payments of $50 to make until my contract ends. Ultimately I feel like I'm being financially penalized for my disease that I had no control over. While initially I considered myself a person of "good health," as stated in their contract, my health conditions have considerably changed within 4 months into my 12 month contract. I'm not a person in good health and no longer have a need for their paid services since I am being monitored by medical professionals due to my strict dietary restrictions. These are unfair business practices against individuals with onset medical conditions that were diagnosed AFTER they signed up. There NEEDS to be a way to end service for people with extenuating medical reasons, such as myself, since my nutritional needs are now beyond what CG can offer. CG deserves NO stars. The camp in my town is the only camp in my area and the trainer changed the times she offers afternoon camp. I am no longer able to make it to the camp because she changed the time. I have called and called and they refuse to let me out of my contract. It is ridiculous that when I signed up, I did it because they offered a time that was good for me. That camp time was taken away, not by me, but by the trainer, yet I am still the one being forced to pay for it. I am not receiving the service anymore! STOP TAKING MONEY OUT OF MY ACCOUNT AND LET ME OUT OF MY CONTRACT. If there were other camps in the area that were available in the time that I needed, perfect. But no. I'm stuck paying $65 a month for nothing. Also, don't sign up for any of their promotions. What they don't tell you is that it renews your contract! I was supposed to be done with my contract August of 2020 but since I signed up for the 10 year promotion they renewed my contract. I've never met a more money hungry company. If it wasn't for the love I have for our trainer, I would blast this all over Facebook. They take advantage of the fact their trainers are real people who suffer from their horrible customer service at corporate level. I have been with CG for almost 5yrs and have enjoyed 4yrs of that time with dependable workouts and goals to achieve. I joined in March of 2019 in Huntersville, NC. I was pretty consistent with MWF at 5am - that timeslot and frequency was one of the reasons i was convinced to give CG a try. This worked out really well until my trainer gave his notice - I was very sad to see him leave, but was willing to give the new trainer an opportunity, and for a while it worked out. In April 2023 the new trainer informed us that he was no longer going to hold Wednesday morning camps. This was unofficial as your app continued to reflect Wednesday 5am workouts. I sincerely hope no one who was not a regular attempted to go to one of those camps. Regardless, this was frustrating, but not a deal breaker. For reference, the Wednesday camps did resume in September (but that was 5months without them) In September you raised our rates. This was extremely frustrating and disappointing as i had previously made a 2yr commitment with a price lock - when i called to inquire i was told that the trainers got together and decided they needed more money and so rates were raised. In addition, it was in the terms and conditions that you were allowed to do this. I don't doubt for a second that you have good lawyers and this was covered, but what was represented and sold to me was a 2yr commitment with a guaranteed rate and that simply was not the case. I felt lied to and this really started to sour my perception of CG and how you treated your members. On November 12th (a Sunday) he texted the regular group to ask who was coming. One person responded positively to say they were coming. I did not positively affirm that i was coming on Monday am, but i did not say that i was not. Keep in mind, we pay for him to show up. I showed up at 5am on Monday am and he did not. When I texted him the response was "Crap! Sorry man i didn't think you'd come, everyone else said they're not showing up". This was really the last straw for me and this is when i called to request to cancel and was told that was not possible due to the fact that i still had time left on my 2yr commitment, however, I was offered to either reduce to Virtual (i did not join CG for virtual - in fact it wasn't even an option when i joined) or re-commit for 2yrs to lower my price. Comical, in my opinion, to offer me a 2yr commitment to lower my price when one of my main complaints was that i had previously done just that and the price was not locked as you arbitrarily raised the rates. I did escalate to your escalation team at this time to try and find a way to cancel. And now the latest issue - trainers last day with CG was last Friday (1/26). I reached out on Monday and was told that CG was not informed of him quitting. In subsequent exchanges i was told that because another location was within 10miles of my location i was not eligible to cancel. This is beyond frustrating to me - the other location only offers 5am within 10miles on T/TH - not MWF. I workout MWF at 5am. Not only that, it is 9.8miles away. So your policy is forcing me to remain a member because of 0.2miles. I asked for this to be escalated to speak with someone and was told tonight via email that i have already escalated and am not allowed to do that again and that the issue was closed and i could not cancel. read more

This was the best thing around until about 2 years ago. The trainers are awesome, the workouts are great, and I've been a loyal customer for 6 years. I would have kept this up until I die, but the HQ has gotten greedy and run off most of their good trainers. Trainers compensation has gone down, so they don't stick around. They used to offer lots of cool incentives and free stuff to their customers, but that stopped a while ago. They're now replacing their loyalty rewards program with "badges" and "achievements" in the app (which also sucks). And those of us who've saved up rewards points for over a year, now have 1 month to use them or lose them. Oh, and the "gear store" where we can use them hasn't had new items in 6+ months and every piece of clothing is either "XS" or "3XL". It's a garage sale to say thank you for my continued patronage. On top of that, every "new idea" they've pitched in the last 2 years has been a thinly veiled marketing job on "You're getting less for more!". You can do better. We all know what the canned response will be - see dozens of other reviews here with the standard, "call us blah blah blah...we strive for..." response. First of all I want to be very clear that CG is not doing anything legally wrong. I signed up for an annual membership and it has an ironclad commitment in the terms and conditions. Members cannot cancel without paying the full 12 month term, providing CG a note from a dr, or proof that you are moving. I signed an agreement agreeing to those terms and so did everyone else complaining about cancelations on bbb or on review sites. Legally, CG can and does hold you to those terms and conditions. And they are fully entitled to do so. NOW, every other company I dealt with during these COVID times including commercial landlords, other gyms, private schools ALL showed a level of compassion and empathy for their customers that CG did not. I will also note, that as far as I can tell, all those businesses have a way more capital intensive business than CG. We are in a PANDEMIC and this would be a great time for CG to show they support their community in both good and bad times. These are not normal times. But the cancel policies and procedures are the same normal ones. CG did not show any empathy. Even allowing for some flexibility beyond the "pay $5 / month to pause your membership" would have been amazing. What if they had used this as an opportunity to say "at CG we stand with you in good and bad times," or "we are Bold even when times are rough." They did not. The cancel policies are the cancel polices regardless of if you have a financial hardship, are in a higher risk population, are living with someone in a higher risk population, now have children at home and can't leave the house, etc. I even tried downgrading from my in-person membership to a virtual one when they were not offering in person classes and they said that would not count towards my membership commitment! I am going to give them credit for following their terms and conditions. Once I asked about canceling, I knew I had three options - prove I was moving, get a note from a dr, or pay the full balance for the annual membership. Once I was able to do one of those things, they efficiently and effectively cancelled my membership. I understand they are a business and have to pay the bills but using this as an opportunity to strengthen relationships with members rather than fracture them would have been a huge opportunity. I remember reading these reviews before signing up and they were all awesome. I even became a raving fan that told everyone I knew to sign up for CG. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend a company that does not show empathy and compassion for the same community it claims to care so much about. read more

F - rating w Better Business Bureau because this company is a SCAM! Negative stars! Will keep charging your cc after you cancel. Cancelled and they kept billing me. Say the only way to cancel is by a telephone call and when you call you can't get through. They don't return the call and when they finally do they say oh well now you owe us another month because you didn't call on time. AVOID! They make you sign up for a year, which is very archaic, but understood from a business model standpoint. BUT when your contract is up they make is IMPOSSIBLE to cancel or to get anyone on the phone to do so. The workouts are meh anyway-- there are MANY better options that are less scammy and more customer centric. read more

Terrible company. The overhead directors for the area fired the coach after we all reupped our contracts for another year. Trying to get out of the contract is so shady. They give you the run around every time. For being a Christian company they treat the customers like garbage all so they can charge your card for $69 a month. read more

This company is horrible!! I signed up with an online trainer who never told me it was a two year contract. that his trainer never spoke to Me, and when I asked for help, was rude! I fulfilled my two year contract and then I noticed six months later they were still charging me! I never approved that! still my trainer has only spoken to Me once. I give five stars to the trainers that I've met and the wonderful community of campers who attend the workouts. It's definitely a whole body workout and it was fun, I felt motivated, I saw results quickly and I made sure to attend at least a few times a week-no matter what. I started having pain in my hip and I thought it was a hip flexor. I finally had to see a doctor, the pain was so intense. I found that my hip was fractured. I paused my membership at a cost of five dollars per month, which I thought was fair and I was thankful this option helped my situation. I had no idea it was going to take four months to have a surgeon to give me a hip replacement. I was in touch with customer service several times regarding pausing my my membership. I was advised that if I needed it longer than 3 months I'd need a Dr note, which I could provide. I was absolutely out of my mind in pain and didn't realize the payment would be debited on the date it was, I called after I was charged the regular monthly payment-just before surgery. As soon as I saw this, I called to let them know I was excited to get back to my workouts and I thought surely they would credit my account a month-I had a Dr note! I spoke with a supervisor, Matthew, who kept apologizing for my situation but there was nothing they would do to credit back a month, offer a refund, etc. Just ICY. COLD. INDIFFERENCE. He may as well have said they didn't give 2 flips about anything I said-they got their money and that's all that mattered. I was a huge fan and chatted people up about CG ! Loved the whole idea of it! However, when I asked Matthew if it seemed right what they were doing, he let me know that was irrelevant. That's when I knew I wanted no part of their corp office. SCAMMM SCAM SCAM!!!!!!! Do NOT bother with this one, you're better off just going to the gym or working out at home with Beachbody. They will not cancel my membership even after I explained that I am moving to a state that does not have a CG location. It's bad enough that I've been paying for this for MONTHS without going now they won't honor their agreement about moving. "Supposedly" they changed this due to COVID and will only downgrade you to virtual workouts. I am waiting to speak to an actual manager now but based on other reviews I likely won't get anyone to call me. What a shady scamy business you run here. I suppose we can just play the game. I will be telling my bank that these charges were made without my consent/after trying to cancel my membership, I would advise everyone else do the same thing. This needs to be shut down sooner rather than later. If you hear anyone talking highly of them they're getting paid off by them or work for the company. I called to cancel my account on 7/12/21 and was instructed that a better option would be to freeze my account at no additional cost to me. Eventually, the auto payment was restarted without indicating me, and I was charged $71.09 three times before noticing that my frozen account had been unfrozen :( partially my fault, but I hadn't attended any sessions or used the companies services in anyway since freezing the account, so I was disappointed when I was told they wouldn't be able to provide a refund. Overall, wouldn't recommend Camp Gladiator. Before having this billing issue, I would've said that their workouts are pretty average to begin with. Now, I'd advise to steer clear.. I'd recommend using Orange Theory or F45 who, from my experience, offer better overall workouts and customer service. read more
