The Director and teachers are amazing - they love the kids and always go above and beyond to make sure the kids are well taken care of and flourishing. We are so impressed with every detail. Thank you Kensington Highlands for providing such a warm, professional and loving environment for our kids.

Absolutely phenomenal preschool!!!…read more We have been with Kensington Highlands for the past three years, since our daughter turned 2.5 yo until now, 5.5yo. Btw, when searching for the preschool originally, I followed our pediatrician recommendation, who had all her three kids at Kensington Highlands. And it has been an amazing experience for our family! Rich curriculum, amazing programs, field trips, organic food and, as one person has already mentioned, humongous backyard where kids spend all summer long playing, splashing, riding, running or enjoying occasional snacks. But what is truly impressive - it's Kensington teachers and staff family. Yes, they are teaching standard curriculum, and yes, most kids get a huge head start, easily plowing through KG or even sometimes through 1st grade books by the end of the preschool. But the most valuable, IMHO, is that warmth, wholehearted and positive attitude, respect and love that kids get every single day, for years! I'll mention just a few examples: kids would constantly get handmade gifts and toys from Miss S. Well made, well thought, unique gifts, the ones you might get from your beloved Auntie or GrandMa. Or those festive special programs, which teachers and kids would practice for months and then perform in front of their families and friends, that would always bring smiles and tears of joy. (Damn Covid, our Graduation Program, Wizard of Oz, was cancelled) We LOVE you Kensington teachers!!! And will definitely miss you when the time comes to say good bye. As to bad experience, I frankly, don't have much to say. Yes, once I picked up our daughter with a diaper rash, and that's how we learned that she was not fine with acidic food at that age. Then recently Kensington expended and built a new location in Hinsdale, and we, Highlands, went through a couple of new directors just in the matter of months, but from our family perspective, the transition was very smooth. Overall, highly recommend! Solid five stars, Kensington family!

I have mixed feelings about this kayak tour company. I signed up because although I'm a very…read morecapable and seasoned kayaker, I didn't know this river and I like learning about the ecosystems and local wildlife. For this reason I like having tour guides. Going up the river was fine. Coming back went a bit sour. I went as slow as I was capable of paddling or not paddling, but apparently it was too fast for the preference of our tour guide. I was barely touching the water with my paddle. I have no idea how I could have gone any slower. It wasn't humanly possible. After shouting at me several times, he took to chasing me down and ramming my kayak so it'd spin in circles. Would I rent a kayak here and kayak the river alone? Yes. Would I personally use a tour guide here? No I wouldn't. Would I recommend? If you're a family with little kids or a drunk sorority house, absolutely. If you know what you're doing, just go it alone. You'll probably enjoy it more. Edit: If the tour guide had concerns for group safety, he could have said so. Although ramming my kayak with his seems to be a bit of a conflict as far as my safety goes. It was an unprofessional approach when he could have simply explained why he needed me to slow down

Enjoyed the cliff walls of Buffalo Rock and the shallow waters of some side passages. We paddled for 5 hours, covering 8 miles total. After we were done we headed to charming, historic downtown Utica for drinks and dinner at Skoog's Pub & Grill in North Utica, IL. I was impressed with the logistics and operation of the kayaking experience, from the guide* to the equipment and online booking process. *Full disclosure, the guide was my twin sister, but I am being objective...seriously.
