My daughter spent her second year at Camp Cedar Cliff this summer, and she can't wait to go back. This has been her first and only sleep-away camp experience, and the fact that she requested to attend the two-week session in 2020 speaks volumes about my young home body!
The thing I like best about Camp Cedar Cliff is the communication with parents. I can see photos, and videos, uploaded each night, from activities throughout the day, with the option to purchase pictures in the sizes I choose (scrapbooking, anyone?) The camp mail options are entertaining as you can email a letter to your child, it is printed and hand delivered, and they can respond in writing, with the response scanned and emailed back to you. No more receiving postcards the week after your camper has returned home! As a parent, you can fund camp purchases online, and see, in real time, what is being acquired (donuts for the cabin to share seemed to be a big one this year...) If your child should become homesick, or need something, they are able to communicate with you through counselors, or staff at the "Comfort Cabin" where there is a full fledged RN on site, 24/7.
Staff is well-trained, with youth counselors patient as saints, full of energy and enthusiasm.
Hearing about the fun times upon my daughter's return has been priceless. Swimming, horseback riding, sculpting, games, and zip lining, to name a few. New friends, and so many memories! I'm so glad we found this camp! read more
